I have always wondered about that. When he got the set piece job PG said "He is someone we have known for a while and always had in mind for a role”. Somehow or another he must have made quite an impression for us to be looking for a way to give him a job when there are so many coaches out there.

I think that was the clue. We wanted him 'in the building' and in the pipeline for further scrutiny, so found a job for him that didn't cause any issues. A bit like "signed for the B Team" has been sometimes.

Cueva was leaving for Chelsea so we also had a vacancy.

I think it was also down to Andrews wanting to get himself inside the building as he knew it would be good for his development as a coach, and that we had form for promoting from within.

I would imagine we know an awful lot of people in the coaching world. Suspect we get countless requests from unattached, upcoming coaches to come and observe...

I believe he did come into see us numerous times when a pundit for Sky, he’s always looking at improving his coaching skills. Even when playing at MK Dons, he often went and watched forthcoming opponents and fed back scouting reports.

Keith answer was, I'm told xxxx may sign for us, i want to know his game, so if he does , I will already know about his game.
Apparently the player did not sign but he was there just in case. B

Can't imagine many other players doing that, not even some managers. That is obsessive attention to detail.

I agree - it was a masterful and understated deflection of a potentially awkward question . It was almost as if he was giving the message to the fan base - ‘I have got your back as much as the team have got it and I will protect that - move on ‘ ‘

I think KA's response to our third goal (Calvaho's) was purely because the instruction he gave the player before he came on yield that goal

"come on just beyond the second post", "run in to the space even if it looks lost" etc.

I can't remember where the whole brief was but it seemed extremely long for the amount of time KA was in Calvaho's ear just before he came on.

Rather like that policeman and whip at the exit to Downing Street.
