Not his biggest fan but he impressed me tonight, good attitude and well taken goal. Make me eat my words Fabio
Well played today and seems to have a special something against Chelsea. Look forward to him coming on and scoring our fourth on Friday.
Appreciated, but as Brentford77 pointed out, got the goal number wrong. Will make sure to do better next time.Bumped for you Mystic Meg
Former superstar of the Fulham academy pointing at the Brentford badge after putting the Bees 3-0 up against Chelsea whilst Fulham languish in the bottom 3.…. and he hates Fulham!
100% agree with this. I hope Keith can find a way to give him minutes and maybe at some point in the near future a start. It’s tough for him with the players in front at the moment but I really want him to be success with us.Desperately want him to do well; his attitude seems spot on and he’s a really likeable lad. There’s a potential star there.
At the very bottom to be precise!Former superstar of the Fulham academy pointing at the Brentford badge after putting the Bees 3-0 up against Chelsea whilst Fulham languish in the bottom 3.
Wasn’t the celebration self explanatory?Anyone know what his little celebration was all about after scoring?
He a talent, definitely needs a run of games and stay injury free
To misquote Brian Clough...At the very bottom to be precise!
Jensen coming towards end of contract and need to rotate Dams to protect him somewhat, so hope to see Fabio get some minutes this season and be a real fixture nextThird behind Mikkel and jensen imo and a long way behind![]()
Agree, can see why KA refers to him as more of a 9.5 than a 10So pleased for him.
Gets into goal scoring positions. Something that MJ and MD dont do as often.
His goal against Chelsea last season and the 2 scored last week both show he’s got the ability to find space whether running in between defenders or ghosting in at the back post.So pleased for him.

I assume we are also working with him to play one of the wide attacking positions (most likely the right) in a similar fashion to how Damsgaard has? Ie given quite a lot of freedom as he is not a wide attacking player per se.His goal against Chelsea last season and the 2 scored last week both show he’s got the ability to find space whether running in between defenders or ghosting in at the back post.
That would be a complete waste and a step backwards. He's best as a second striker playing a central role or (similarly) a very advanced AM. Andrews described him as a 9.5 which amounts to the same thing.I assume we are also working with him to play one of the wide attacking positions (most likely the right) in a similar fashion to how Damsgaard has? As we’ve seen with Schuster, opportunities can present themselves very quickly.Probably still 3rd place for one position in a 4 3 3 but right place, right time sixth sense would put him at no 1 when chasing a game ?
If we're wedded to the 4-2-3-1 (or 4-3-3 in old money), then Fábio is not really a wide attacker but, as you write, playing freely off a centre forward is what he seems to be about, so a formation change – even if it's temporary for a game or in a game – would be needed. That would be a complete waste and a step backwards. Personally I hope Jensen gets a new contract. But do hope Fabio gets some more minutes and stays fit. He certainly knows where the goal is.Jensen coming towards end of contract and need to rotate Dams to protect him somewhat, so hope to see Fabio get some minutes this season and be a real fixture next
Yes that's the issue. The role he's good at isn't one we generally use.If we're wedded to the 4-2-3-1 (or 4-3-3 in old money), then Fábio is not really a wide attacker but, as you write, playing freely off a centre forward is what he seems to be about, so a formation change – even if it's temporary for a game or in a game – would be needed.
Alternatively, use a wing back to replicate the wide forward then playing Fábio nominally as a wide attacker, so a sort of front 4, would work very well. Keith is often talking about 'chaos' and a team that can flex into different positions and roles, even for short periods, seems something that is in his tactical mindset.
Can you imagine IT and Schade up top with Fabio in the spaces behind...would be chaos! If we're wedded to the 4-2-3-1 (or 4-3-3 in old money), then Fábio is not really a wide attacker but, as you write, playing freely off a centre forward is what he seems to be about, so a formation change – even if it's temporary for a game or in a game – would be needed.

I’m sure they are working on such a formation in training as a Plan B or CCan you imagine IT and Schade up top with Fabio in the spaces behind...would be chaos!
I think we’re not as wedded to anything these days. But within our normal set up Fabio can play in the same spot as Damsgaard but in a different way. It’s great that they and Jensen offer such tactical permutations and that Keith’s open to using all of them.If we're wedded to the 4-2-3-1 (or 4-3-3 in old money), then Fábio is not really a wide attacker but, as you write, playing freely off a centre forward is what he seems to be about, so a formation change – even if it's temporary for a game or in a game – would be needed.

My point was that, given a minimal number of injured players, my wild-arsed guess is that Keith would really like to flex formation and style of play in-game, not just chasing a game.Yes that's the issue. The role he's good at isn't one we generally use.
But there will be occasions when we're chasing the game late on and we try something different.
If we really are going to be that flexible then that can only be good. If like to see more often. But I'd be surprised if we didn't play 4-3-3 most of the time at least to start with. It would be brave to ditch Schade, Anthony, Ouattara et a to play Carvalho as a second striker to Thiago in a 4-4-2 for example. My point was that, given a minimal number of injured players, my wild-arsed guess is that Keith would really like to flex formation and style of play in-game, not just chasing a game.
Having a number of players who can excel in the role of a specific set-up while contributing in others gives opportunities for "chaos" as we swap around.
It's a next-level scenario that can't be switched on overnight but we're building a squad where each position is not only covered but, in each of the positions, the two (or more) players have different qualities, the obvious example being a full back who's an exceptional defender and one who's a more natural wing-back.
nice problem to have plus JDS too!Having 6 available midfielders for 3 spots makes a lot of sense, the big issue will be when Milambo is fully fit!
I think it would be a midfielder sacrificed to play something like a 4-1-4-1 with 2 wide attackers like in our current 4-2-3-1.I

Maybe ,I do worry about Josh thoughnice problem to have plus JDS too!
