FT - Dorking Wanderers 1 - 4 Brentford

The Bees had to dig deep today. At 2-0 down, Dorking showed determination and pulled a goal back following some excellent pressure that had been building. For a little while, at least, the hosts continued to threaten, but the Bees battened down the hatches with some terrific defending.

The Bees eventually caught Dorking on the counter and, with some delightful attacking play of their own, pulled away with two further late goals to seal the victory.

A much-improved team performance compared to last week against Worthing. Positive signs ahead!

Funny game.
On chances, Brentford should have walked it, but Dorking showed a lot of fight in the second half and it probably could have been a draw.
I felt the antics of their bench got to the players late on and they lost concentration and got punished.
Ref was absolutely atrocious.

I neglected to mention the ref but now you do. I've seen some bad refs but todays was beyond a joke. Constantly missing calls, relied far too much on his lino to bring his attention to things he was meters away from. The list goes on😡😡😡

As much as that was a changer, Maddie Phillips going off was probably more so.
Unless she had a knock it was bizarre to take her off.

Just looking on the FA page, and today was his first game of the season. Well the first game of the season for our league.
He only did 3 games in the league last season, including our game against Benfica at Wheatsheaf, which I can’t say I recall.IMG_1279.jpeg

I don’t think that was the guy who reffed today. Maybe a last minute change.
