Think Andrews might have been booked for complaining about this one too.He goes for the ball and GETS the ball and his foot isn't remotely high. Absurd!

Maybe he was doing a Kevin Lynch of correcting an incorrect corner decisionI suspect it was Kayode holding which was consistent with him giving every cheap foul to Villa.
At least then have the common sense not to book our player for questioning his mistakes.Maybe he was doing a Kevin Lynch of correcting an incorrect corner decision
Different incident now, but yes, from what i saw he was a shambles. My Czech commentator kept calling him Peter Bankes, not sure who that should insult moreAt least then have the common sense not to book our player for questioning his mistakes.
Bankes was VAR so maybe had his notes muddled.Different incident now, but yes, from what i saw he was a shambles. My Czech commentator kept calling him Peter Bankes, not sure who that should insult more![]()

He's not wrong though is he ?Pot calling kettle?
Arsenal arent a very good team. But they benefit from almost every decision. He's not wrong though is he ?
Gave 2 penalities and a red card in the Sunderland 0-2 Arsenal game he reffed earlier this season, including for Ezri Konsa pulling down Dan Ballard at a croner. The one where Raya saved Enzo le Fee's penalty and Arsenal went down the other end and scored through Bruno Guimaraes.Joy of joys, John Brooks on Saturday!!!!

John Brooks is ok if the opposition isn’t the Big 6. But we’re playing Liverpool so it’s a massive problem.Joy of joys, John Brooks on Saturday!!!!
So samoas usual thenJohn Brooks is ok if the opposition isn’t the Big 6. But we’re playing Liverpool so it’s a massive problem.
Brooks was the referee for the home match against Arsenal last season. The failure to send off Gabriel and booking Dango for dissent after letting Madueke scream ‘f*** off’ at him. Brooks was the referee for Chelsea away last season where he ignored the most blatant holding by Chelsea and denied us at least one stonewall penalty. Brooks was the VAR for Newcastle away and failed to recommend a review when Trippier dragged down KLP. That should have been a penalty and DOGSO red. These are all signs of things to come this weekend.
Aren't they £7 for three now?So samoas usual then
You silly sausage, you're thinking of samosas. He said samoa - pacific island, good at rugbyAren't they £7 for three now?
Oh good , Always reminds me of Stan Laurel , has that total confused look on his faceBrentford v Liverpool
Referee: John Brooks.
Assistants: Neil Davies, Akil Howson.
Fourth official: Anthony Backhouse.
VAR:Darren England.
Assistant VAR: Gary Beswick.
He had a reasonable match in charge of Coventry v Newcastle on Monday. Whilst my expectations are extremely low I live in hope that this is the start of a run of competence!Oh good , Always reminds me of Stan Laurel , has that total confused look on his face

Mystic Meg over here.John Brooks is ok if the opposition isn’t the Big 6. But we’re playing Liverpool so it’s a massive problem.

Wasn't there today so I have only seen twitter clips of the headbutt, but John Brooks as VAR didn't think Gabriel on Haaland was worthy of a red last year...Does anyone think this is what an elite level refereeing performance looks like?
Glad he didn’t because I’m pretty sure that was Collins!Yet didnt book the sub for illegally entering the pitch.....
Slight difference being he was never sent to the screen to review it.Wasn't there today so I have only seen twitter clips of the headbutt, but John Brooks as VAR didn't think Gabriel on Haaland was worthy of a red last year...
Oh was it??Glad he didn’t because I’m pretty sure that was Collins!
No, he was VAR so he had the screen to view it as many times as he wanted, and still decided it wasn't a red.Slight difference being he was never sent to the screen to review it.

It would have been.. but Brooks felt this was NOT worthy of a check (therefore a red) when the only angle he was shown was behind the goal where no head action was 100% evident (if he'd been shown the other angle it might be different as it was head on chin).Presumably, it was Darren England on VAR that thought he should take a look at the Yehor incident. But other than that Brooks was his usual incompetent self.

I guess Haland didn't go down like a sack of sh*te like Jacket did thoughIt would have been.. but Brooks felt this was NOT worthy of a check (therefore a red) when the only angle he was shown was behind the goal where no head action was 100% evident (if he'd been shown the other angle it might be different as it was head on chin).

But today he had a look at a screen and deemed that to be worthy of red.
Jacquet also made sure his head was forward to make any accidental contact look worseIt would have been.. but Brooks felt this was NOT worthy of a check (therefore a red) when the only angle he was shown was behind the goal where no head action was 100% evident (if he'd been shown the other angle it might be different as it was head on chin).

He was clearly talking to either the Linos or fourth official who advised himJust remember - Brooks just booked Schade when he didnt see anything, just because their player rolled around and their sub ran on screaming at him.
Yet didnt book the sub for illegally entering the pitch.....
So why wasnt the sub entering the pitch booked? He was clearly talking to either the Linos or fourth official who advised him
Because he plays for Liverpool. So why wasnt the sub entering the pitch booked?
Fair enough. Ignore me.slight difference being he WAS the VAR......
He was the one that deemed it with numerous replays to say no, it was not a headbutt.
Why do you think I would know?So why wasnt the sub entering the pitch booked?
I dont even think Brooks knows what Brooks is thinking. Why do you think I would know?
You do, but the filters on here stop you.I do not possess the vocabulary necessary to comment on his
"Performance " this afternoon.
