Yehor Yarmoliuk

I read somewhere before the break that he missed most of the preseason with an injury. The injury is no more but he was unfit and during the break he underwent a mini preseason.
I hadn't heard that the injury has cleared up.

I hadn't heard that the injury has cleared up.
They were hoping the rest and special training and treatment he had over the last three weeks would do the trick but you’re correct, nobody knows if he’s recovered and until he starts playing full games which is unlikely anyway given the quality of our midfield options we won’t know for certain.

Yarmo needs goal and assist contributions to take him to the next level, which if those contributions become regular then that level would be the very top level. When the ball reached him on the edge of the area I was expecting the normal wild and high effort into row Z. I was delighted with the beautifully controlled sweet strike that resulted in his goal. KA mentioned in his post match interview that they had been working with him in training to be calmer when shooting.

God knows where the article was, but YY was speaking to a Ukrainian reporter explaining why he did not join the Ukrainian squad. He only spoke of a fitness problem. No mention of current injury difficulties.

Well he has two involvements in six matches, which would put him on track for 12-13 for the season. That's a great number for a 6/8.

Missus who a bees fan see the goal on Motd and was like wow he a Beast now lol. She's go a new fav player 😅

Yep, great technique for the goal. A year ago that's taking out someone in the crowd.

I loved the way he didn't even celebrate his goal. No knee slides, no dancing around corner flags, or taking off his jersey, just a simple George Best-style arm-in-the-air walk! I love it!
Checked and I only think there's been three knee sliders this year, Vitaly, Jaidon and Kevin (only once). Given the number of different scorers wonder if it's a directive from above. Always been baffled that risk of injury doesn't seem to bother players. Not a big fan of jumping on someones back either but maybe that's just me.

Single arm in the air to show you’re excited? Simple handshakes and jog back to defend the restart? Ruffle of hair from teammates? Marvelous.

Is sliding on your knees more dangerous then playing football? Has anyone ever been injured sliding on their knees? I used to do it all the time in the garden and at disco's and never did my ACL once.

Yehor Yarmoliuk

The groundsman would make it a capital offence! When I’ve refereed a few of the post-season sponsors games at the GTech, we are always strictly told that if any player does a kneeslide, they have to be sent off and the players are told the same 😅

I wholeheartedly agree, especially before we had these 5g things that are made of plastic, back in the day when a player would slide and take half the turf up with them used to drive me nuts too, bloody selfish.

I watched a friend do a kneeslide at a nightclub once in Bulgaria, not having seen the broken glass all over the floor. That didn't end well

Yehor Yarmoliuk

At a kids football tournament keeper did one after winning a penalty shootout and found a not quite buried metal tent peg. That was a nasty knee injury.

I hate singling out individuals for their petulance and foolishness; however, today, I'm so bitterly angry with Yarmo. It's so unlike him to do something so foolish, like that nonsense headbutt. I know anything can happen in the heat of a big game, but not today, of all days! We would have beaten them today if it wasn't for his red-mist moment 😐 fuming, absolutely fuming this evening.

You mean the accidental clash of heads?

Yehor Yarmoliuk

No need for a pile on. He'll be gutted with himself and for his team mates and Keith will be picking him back up so that he learns from this and is ready to go again after his ban.
All he learns is to not be physical with a protected team and a biased ref...😪

Yehor Yarmoliuk

I'm sorry people for losing it. I just can't get over that silliness. I know the lad will be dejected tonight, but surely.....

Well sort of yes.

I reckon the lesson is don't give the ref a chance to give a red card. We know how inconsistent the refs are so don't get drawn into anything that allows the ref to make such a decision.

I think thats exactly it.
When you give a ref and VAR a chance to make a game easier for a big team, they will always take it

Yehor Yarmoliuk

It’s an horrendous error of judgment by him. Just gone ahead, almost half time, just mental

Yehor Yarmoliuk

Should have stepped away, but don’t blame him that scummy c nut Liverpool player was doing everything he could to get it, and in the end it’s not even violent conduct. If VAR takes that long to decide it’s clearly not violent conduct.

Liverpool knew they weren’t creating anything and resorted to dirty tactics to get points. Very glad that’s not my team.

100% agree and how the times have changed, a so called big 6 club having to resort to such tactics to get something from a game.

Yehor Yarmoliuk

Pure stupidity and let everyone else down unfortunately.

The club will rightfully support him publicly but internally I imagine they will be seething. Soft or not it’s a red by the the rules of the game, was completely needless and gave the ref a decision to make just a minute or two before going into half time at 1-0 up.

Yehor Yarmoliuk

I hope we appeal this, from the behind the goal camera that is more side on, it is more chest to chest, and Jaquet is initiating contact by walking into YY. I know I am biased!

Yehor Yarmoliuk

I absolutely adore YY, he has a very high ceiling and what he proved today is he could be the next Zidane. We should make a statue.

It was a red - what part of him making contact with his head are people not understanding here. His head moves forward and makes contact, soft but a red card as soon as VAR get involved.

The accidental bit.
Of course his head moves after his chest.
But you are right, as soon as VAR gets involved, common sense leaves the room
