Back to 5th grade insults I see
I’m taking it to higher education, 6th form college stuff.

Why don’t you go and have a tug to live up to your name.

Brentford 1 (KLP) Liverpool 2

We win that with 11. Ref gave pretty much everything their way but Yarmo can’t really complain about the sending off. He got goaded by the oppo and reacted. As soon as you put your head anywhere near you’re going to get in trouble.
ref allowed the goading.
they literally got away with everything.
they fell to the floor and stayed there until the referee brandished a yellow (or red, via VAR). Just look at the cards to Thiago and Schade.

Brentford 1 (KLP) Liverpool 2

Absolutely gutted. They were hanging on at the end and if we'd stayed at full strength we'd have won that.

Positives were Anthony looking excellent, Sangare looking good when he came on, and Dango looking better. Thiago's confidence looks absolutely shot though, which is a worry.

Brentford 1 (KLP) Liverpool 2

Can’t blame the ref. He didn’t headbutt anyone
Agree that Yarmo was dumb to react, no excuses. But refs are supposed to be cracking down on actions like VD's and Jacquets prior to Yarmo's reaction. Jacquet was not even looking at the ball, but the man. Refs are meant to penalise that.

Brentford 1 (KLP) Liverpool 2

Silly from Yarmo cost us the game. Good battling though to keep going at the end. Can't really blame the ref imo and it's pretty tedious that whenever we don't win the ref is terrible . Thiago looks poor again Infront of goal no threat at all
He set up our goal and good defending prevented him from scoring - not sure that can be counted as no threat at all.

Brentford 1 (KLP) Liverpool 2

In spite of the result, really good to see Schade, Damsgaard and VDB back, with Collins on the bench. We will see more of Sangare as well.

I still feel optimistic about the season. Hickey's block at the end was amazing. Even when we went down to 9 we still pushed forward, admittedly without success. The game was rubbish, but still a good season so far. Still pinching myself that we are scoring against Liverpool

Brentford 1 (KLP) Liverpool 2

We were unfortunate today.
However, most objective people who watch football can see the Premier League is not a level playing field.
Refereeing standards are generally poor, game after game. Mistakes and actions are obsessively analysed in the media, VAR has destroyed the spontaneity of the sport for spectators and the regulatory authorities are held hostage to the big clubs wealth, influence and clout.
The experience for me is hardly satisfying and I don't really enjoy it.
Just my opinion.....

Brentford 1 (KLP) Liverpool 2

KRs aftermath comment was the YY and Jaquet should have got a yellow a piece

Brentford 1 (KLP) Liverpool 2

Yarmo took the bait, he was baiting him and making gestures to Yarmo, barging him and he reacted. If you’re Gabriel for Arsenal you don’t get a VAR red card review.
Wasn't even looking at the ball. Van Dick was also culpable.

At halftime I would have taken off Dango and Jaidon and replaced them Sangare and Kev. Almost right Keith.

Brentford 1 (KLP) Liverpool 2

Game hinged on the red card - don't think we lose if that doesn't happen but it was a red even if the contact was minimal IMHO.

Thought we battled gamely and Kayode had his best game of the season - take it and move on to next week which will now be tougher with 2 less CDMs to pick from but we have good depth overall so might need to be a tweak in formation

Disappointing result in a game that completely changed on the red card (which I couldn't see from the East Stand). We are a good side. We are progressing year on year. We are no longer in awe of the big boys but take them on. We have to be near perfect to win these games and up to half time we pretty much were. Some very strong performances all over the pitch. Loving Ajer and KLP (until their equaliser) Jensen looked class and some of the first half link play between Jaidon and Igor was excellent. We still carried a threat late on which was impressive Fair to say that was probably not the refs best game. He looked off the pace from the first minute.

Brentford 1 (KLP) Liverpool 2

Wasn't even a headbutt. If that was Alexis MaCalister at anfield he never gets a red there.
Let's try to have two eyes rather than one when reflecting on a game. It obviously was a headbutt even if it wasn't forceful. Just stupid. Blame the player, not the ref. Janelt foul was blatant as their player was about to drive into the area. Again, stupid decision by our player. Janelt didn't influence the result but Yarmoliuk cost us the game. We kept going well and we defo wouldn't have lost with 11 on the pitch.
Thiago works hard but he had a stinker. Mystified that Wilson didn't replace him after we went behind.

Referee ultimately followed the instruction of VAR on both major calls and they were both right

No pen for them, but yes red card for us.

A few soft yellows for us but nothing game changing that he got wrong in terms of decisions.

We win that game 11v11. Probably earned a draw given the performance with 10 men too but not to be.

Is this the match thread or the ref watch thread? Had a family thing and couldn't make today but hard to tell how we actually played scrolling through the comments?!

We played well but not particularly fluent. Liverpool had a spell of about 15 mins when they scored twice and should have scored more. Apart from that we more than held our own. They were time wasting and just clinging on to their lead even when we went down to nine.

If was pretty soft, but nobody is going to complain too loud. But it’s just the general bias, the soft free kicks he gives their defenders consistently stops our attacks and the ones he gives their attackers puts them on the from foot. We don’t get that opportunity.

Tactical fouls, kicking the ball away, stopping quick free kicks and time wasting not punished for one team, but a player sent off for complaining and a genuine attempt at a decent tackle isn’t right

We were the better team, if these 11 players were not called Liverpool, you would fancy yourself to beat them every week. The name carries gravitas which is not longer deserved IMO

VJ was better than anything Liverpool have got.

Losing to Liverpool of a few years ago is one thing but today they were very ordinary.
That’s what the most annoying things 11 vs 11 we outplayed them 10 v 11 were struggling 9 v 11 were shaking

When the MOTM player for Liverpool influenced the game like that, it gets talked about darling

Genuinely dont give a f*** if we get relegated, it'll never be a level playing field for interlopers like us.

Brentford 1 (KLP) Liverpool 2

Amazing that very few have picked up on Jacquets part in the red card.
Regardless whether you think it was or wasnt, the contact from Yarmos head was VERY minimal, so why did Jacquet stay down, prone like he had actually died, for over a minute?
Theres embarrassing, then there is whatever s*it that was from the cheat.

Brentford 1 (KLP) Liverpool 2

Such a stop start game lacking any real rhythm. With 11 players I reckon we get at least a draw. But as soon as Yarmo gets sent off the outcome is inevitable. Some of our passing towards the end was forced / overdone but understandable given chasing a draw with only 9 players.

On the plus side, several players returning from injury to offset the suspensions. And great to see that Damsgaard isn’t a longer term absentee.

Brentford 1 (KLP) Liverpool 2

So frustrating again. A real opportunity to beat this poor Liverpool team at home. The red card for Yarmo is soft but against a "big" club it's going to be given. He will never allow himself to be goaded into a reaction like that again. The theatrics by the Liverpool players were shameful and Brooks just bought it as they all seem to do this season. Thiago needs a break, he looks shabby in front of goal.
11 v 11 we win that. Fact

This is what they do and by they I mean footballers in general. Taught that in that situation you should react to try and buy a red card - it was soft but there was contact so always being given.

We played excellent for the game, but more than that, this approach bodes well for the season. TF would have been more tactical after the 🟥.

KA allowed us to still play aggressive. I enjoyed us pressing 2 on one in liverpools corner a goal and two players down.
