Andy Woodman sacked by Bromley
I have absolutely no insight into Bromley, but on the face of it, that seems insane. For after 5 1/2 years in charge, AW has proven to be a very successful manager, meaning either (a ) that in trying to manage in League One, he has suddenly reached a level which he is unfit for, or (b ) the whole club has reached a level which it simply isn't ready for yet.

I know which of the two I think it is.

Was he on borrowed time after a 5 year plan?

To be serious, they may have been considering alternatives already. We’ll know if his replacement arrives quickly. It can’t be denied that certain managers have a ceiling, never mind a shelf life. For example, I would’ve struggled to see MA taking us any higher than the Championship.

Woodman was the third longest-serving manager in the 92, behind only Arteta and Nigel Clough, so Keith moves up another notch.

With reference to Manure and their ongoing management "issues". Why don't they appoint a Director of Football who decides on a style of football the club wish to play that is acceptable to their owners, supporters and respects their traditions. He then appoints a manager/head coach and a coaching team that buys into that style of football and they recruit players to play that way. If the manager/head coach leaves they promote from within or from outside but still respecting the style of play the Director of Football has established.
FFS it isn't rocket science but few of the traditional top 6 have the patience in the boardroom or the stands to stick with this philosophy to allow it to become established. They are always looking for a quick fix. In Manures case that involves a marquee head coach who imposes his style of play with associated player recruitment which is different from the last marquee coach, or they appoint an ex player who the supporters worshipped to try and manage them out of the mess who galvanizes some initial team spirit but when results turn again they get rid and look for the next marquee head coach. Rinse and repeat.

Because between owners, fanbase and players there’s at least 4 mutually exclusive beliefs in what is an acceptable way of playing?

Very true, but even if you could get them all to agree on it, you'd still have to get them to accept that it might take a full season or two to take hold. And even if you could extract the necessary patience for that (I did say "if"), then in the case of Man U, you'd have to get past Ratcliffe's ego. And I can't see him ever accepting that he doesn't, in fact, know everything, and needs instead to recruit some people who do know a bit more than him, about football at least, then step back and let them get on with the job.

Expect Nicky Hayen at Burnley to be gone by tomorrow.

Can't buy a win and currently 4-1 down to Lincoln City.

He’s definitely on borrowed time but Burnley’s problems are much bigger than the head coach.

Carrick will be gone tonight.

Shambolic performance. 0-2 down and lucky it's not 4. Not all on him - the players are shocking.

Carrick might not be the solution whether short or long term, but to be fair, neither is he the source of their problems ... at worst he's the symptom and a patsy

Carrick looking teary at the end. Looks like he knows the time is up

Not a sexy pick, but probably a safe enough pick that they ought to be able to keep themselves just high enough that they wouldn't be seriously part of any discussions about relegation

I believe Dyche was the front runner before they changed tact at the last minute and appointed Sage, so does not surprise me.
Does he need the job though? Can’t stay off the merry go round for too long. If he goes for it, he’ll have to ignore that he was 2nd choice…

They have a Director of Football though - Jason Wilcox.

He seems to be part of the problem there atm.

We are in the nice position with being perfectly happy with KA,but too early for with him being linked with the likes of United.

Sure it goes on all the time. Cant see it being an issue.

Howe and tango man will not do anything at Man U. Fraudsters
I dont think anyone will do anything at Man.U,but whoever goes in will believe they can.
Otherwise they will be unemployed for a little bit longer.
Eddie is getting bored by the sounds of it and wants to get back in somewhere.

Imo a manager change will make little impact. As i see it they have similar issues to Spurs, cultural, lack of leadership/identity, senior people in jobs that they are not fit for and a lack of teamwork from top down. Get the impression that not everyone is pushing in the same direction. But hey, long may it continue, another club living in the past, but what do i care.

But a new manager will believe he can turn it around and thats why they go for the jobs and thats why they get an interview for them.

De Zerbi is having a go at Tottenham because he believes he can be better than the last man and Thomas felt the same.
These guys have egos bigger than me and you can imagine.

Fully agree, you have to believe you are the man. Just making the point that the club are going through the same old process that has failed to deliver success since Fergi departed. Common sense/logic would tell you its not going to happen if nothing else changes. Another deluded club, living in the past. The so called answer to their problems continues to fail yet they perservere, why? Long may it continue, from where i am sitting its a great show.

Its the biggest job in world football too many many people and maybe too big for some, but atm i can only see Ancelotti,Pochetino and maybe Jurgen Klopp going in and doing something, but i would be very surprised if they did go there especially Jurgen.
The club is skint and on its knees.
Jason Wilcox is not a DOF and Michael Carrick should have left at the end of last season when his stock was high.
Utd are in a freefall and all of this reminds me of 1972 to 1974.
The Glazers are going nowhere and the money is not there for the big spend.
All the time this is happening gives me hope that we go there on November 28th and win because i believe we can.
Will they go down ?
As they are right now yes.
With Fulham ?
Now that would be good.

Agree, but i honestly do not see any new manager whoever he is, turning things around unless other stuff changes as to how the club is run. Spending large amounts of money on players obviously should help, but where maybe in the 80s and 90s it had greater influence in the scheme of things, i am now thinking it has a lesser impact. Its all the other stuff that we, Muff and Brighton do well that has a greater influence. Until MU change their approach to this issue they are going nowhere imo.
