No different to KLP against Sunderland.
But but we are a set piece team......that's what everyone tells meWhat a BRILLIANT goal.
The ball to Schade, the one touch to Hickey, the amazing ball to Anthony, who took it towards goal and then the finish.
You wont see much better this season
Sexual acts during the match,Whatever next!
Brentford xG 0.46Justice table has Forest 3rd. I didn’t see it.
That's the worst performance since we've been in the Prem?I have not been a fan for long, seen maybe 50 home games as a Member over the last 5 or 6 years,
But that was perhaps the worst performance I’ve seen from the Bees - apart from a couple of gorgeous passes which created the goals.
The comments that ‘we controlled the game’ display rose-tinted perception, I feel. xG was 0.46 against 0.85 for Forest. Our possession (at home to a bottom 3 team) was 42%. We won only 36.8% of tackles! And only 34 ‘successful final third passes’ against 97 by Forest.
My main frustration watching was we were giving the ball away FAR too easily – borne out by another damning stat, only 71% successful pass completion today, the lowest in the Premiership except for 10-man Palace. Our average at home has been 78% before today, and interestingly away games average is almost the same, even with one outlier, Bournemouth which was only 70%.
So it feels like something was off today. I really don’t think it looked like ‘managing the game’.
Delighted for Igor of course and I felt we defended well, didn’t give away too many silly fouls, etc. But I would be amazed if Keith Andrews was sitting there tonight saying to himself, “we had it all under control”. If Forest had any clue how to actually put the ball in the net we might have been in trouble.
Well KA has stated in his post match comments that considering the circumstances that was the best win of the seasonI have not been a fan for long, seen maybe 50 home games as a Member over the last 5 or 6 years,

Count yourself lucky you weren't around 20 years ago when we were sleepwalking into League 2 every week and that you never had to witness Thomas Pinault in a Brentford shirt.I have not been a fan for long, seen maybe 50 home games as a Member over the last 5 or 6 years,
But that was perhaps the worst performance I’ve seen from the Bees - apart from a couple of gorgeous passes which created the goals.
Very surprised to see your previous posts have all been pretty normal, considering the only thing that would reasonably explain this level of utter nonsense is trolling.I have not been a fan for long, seen maybe 50 home games as a Member over the last 5 or 6 years,

That header from Yates must have been the reason the xg was high. That was such a simple chanceBrentford xG 0.46
Nottingham Forest xG 0.85

Nottingham Forest shots 15

The Justice score wouldn’t be Brentford 2-0 Nottingham Forest. Very glad to be out performing our Justice position and hope this is the season randomness in a small sample size of 38 games leads to us play Barcelona away in Q4 2027.
You obviously didn’t see us play Fulham last season. That's the worst performance since we've been in the Prem?![]()
I thought that too. Wonderful stuffThe Remembrance silence was observed immaculately by both sets of fans (aside from noises coming up from the concourse, where maybe they weren’t aware it was happening, it still being October), and the bugler did a fine job, playing the most poignant last note with exceptional delicacy.
I dont think anyone with any common sense thought we controlled the game until we got the 2nd. I also appreciate you highlighting that you're a new fan before your comments, because otherwise you may have gotten destroyed for this post. Funnily enough, I agree with a lot of it though.I have not been a fan for long, seen maybe 50 home games as a Member over the last 5 or 6 years,

Some weird takes in this! There's a reason I tend to not read the earlier posts before I leave my thoughts, another reminder today to not bother.
I read a couple of comments saying "Forest are awful, a poor Forest team etc".... "Another awful perfromance by Thiago"
First off Forest are not poor and were not awful. I can't stand that club, Ryan Yates, Nico Williams's teeth, the fat slug or their fans but if you took that away from the game then you're a bit thick.
Any win against Forest will be like this, but I think we need to be better.
We heavily rode our luck in this one, yes Keith set us up to be hard to break down and we were playing on the counter for large parts of the game.... but Forest had multiple crosses into the box (which we defended well tbf), 2 guilt edge chances from a VDB mistake for Mcatee in the first half and Ryan Yates should have scored a header in the second and I think Thiago headed the ball off the line too.
Thiago had a mixed game, he had no support whatsoever from the ref and their thug of a CB surely should have been off at some point for a second yellow, he gave the ball away a few times but also defended brilliantly and won us a few free kicks. He also scored a goal which is what he's there for, 2 in 2 games now, give the guy some credit.
I thought Schade had them on toast on 3 occasions, but decided to go down instead of trusting his pace (which would have put him through on goal 3 times) and just getting the player booked. Is this coached? a lack of confidence? I feel he could have kept going on 2 out of 3 of them .
Outtara was excellent first half, as was Anthony when he came on.
VDB looked very very rusty which is fair enough, but grew into the game and looked superb at the end. Ajer was as solid as ever. KLP for me is one of our best players now, and we're better with him on the pitch in any position.
I thought Jensen and Sangare looked off it unfortunately, but Jensen nearly scored a wonderful free kick. Sangare looks to need a season to get used to this league, i'm more than happy to give him that!
The ref wasn't particularly consistent but I don't think he influenced the result today.
Finally, Keith has taken a little bit of stick off idiots over the past week. His subs got us over the line in this one, and although not the pretiest we're winning without playing all that well at the moment. That's a very good thing, there's a lot more to come from this team.
All in all, I think we were fortunate with our two defelced goals and on another day we don't win that game, but we did and i'm so pleased it was against Forest.
Forest unfortunately will not go down, they're a good team and as soon as they get a bit of luck I think they'll rise up the league.
There's no easy win at this level, so we take this all day long.
Name them then maybe? How I saw it.Some weird takes in this!
Sangare. He won so many balls first half.Name them then maybe? How I saw it.
Fair call. I still think there's more to come from him (not a bad thing).Sangare. He won so many balls first half.
I agree but honestly, he won everything that half.Fair call. I still think there's more to come from him (not a bad thing).
Not sure I entirely agree with everything, however, you write a lot of common sense in that post, and a pretty fair account taken as a whole. There's a reason I tend to not read the earlier posts before I leave my thoughts, another reminder today to not bother.

Great observation, he's such a good sub isn't he.One other thing that has been overlooked.
Anthonys first touch on the ball from Hickey for our second - took it TOWARDS goal, meaning he was in the box and could hit the ball on the deck to Thiago.
A lot of lesser players would have carried straight on and been forced to chip a cross in the air or take another touch.
It was perfect.
Very tidy player Jaidon Anthony. Makes good decisions. One other thing that has been overlooked.

I think he should be starting games. Class player with a great physical presenceGreat observation, he's such a good sub isn't he.
I actually think he's best for the last half hour of games rather than a starter. Very dangerous when the game has opened up whereas Outarra has the tricks to beat a man when the game is tight. Put it this way - Anthony possibly doesn't create the first goal and Dango doesn't the second.I think he should be starting games. Class player with a great physical presence
First off Forest are not poor and were not awful.
They weren't tho, were they.Agreed.
They were dogshit
They weren't tho, were they.
Cant be arsed defending Forest any further as I feel my soul leaving my body every time I do, but objectively they weren't that bad.
I thought their press in the second half until Igor’s goal was quite impressive, and we lost the midfield battle for a while. But I was just never worried when the ball entered the final third. They’ve got the cutting edge of a blancmange.Justice table has Forest 3rd. I didn’t see it.
It's the worst performance in the prem since Hull away. That's the worst performance since we've been in the Prem?![]()
It's honest of you to put your credentials on the table - but I'm astonished of you think a 2-0 win could be the worst performance you've seen.I have not been a fan for long, seen maybe 50 home games as a Member over the last 5 or 6 years,

Spot on. Playing that formation often creates major issues for us (and others). I kept thinking in my head that Delap's a proper donkey but felt if I said it out loud he'd probably fkin scoreIt wasn’t a bad performance, sometimes you have to accept that the opposition are pretty good
3 at the back, wingbacks and 4 in midfield meant they swamped us, we had no room to move or pass and it led to 3-4 awful passes. But other than the 3-4 we gave to them, we didn’t do that much wrong
Forest win the midfield but are utterly toothless up top, we conceded the midfield and relied on our extra firepower and it worked a treat.
My apologies, gpete. I suffered a coughing fit at “premiership” and was unable to proceed any further.I have not been a fan for long, seen maybe 50 home games as a Member over the last 5 or 6 years,

Loved the ball boys keeping their heads bowed throughout, nice touch by the club to ensure it happened. The Remembrance silence was observed immaculately by both sets of fans (aside from noises coming up from the concourse, where maybe they weren’t aware it was happening, it still being October), and the bugler did a fine job, playing the most poignant last note with exceptional delicacy.
Perfect summary of the game. This was a hard fought win against a tough team of spoilers. It was never going to be a free flowing game of open end to end football. It was a battle and we won it and the war too.
We were organised, shut them down and frustrated them and did just enough to win.
Yiu have to fight fire with fire against Forest and we did.
