Their 2 defeats this season were against Chelsea and Liverpool. We were comfortable against both of these (and probably would have beaten Liverpool but for the Yarmo red card). Hopefully our analysts have found something we can exploit.I mean clearly the toughest game of the season so far, they're absolutely flying.
It will be about City losing to Brighton.I am sure that all this week, it will be about Brighton's win at City yesterday.
They want that Conference League Trophy.Only realised this morning that they’re away at Getafe in the Conference League on the Thursday before our game. Should have clocked with the game being played on Sunday.
Suspect they’ll still play their Cup team despite it being a level up from Tromso, Kauno Zalgiris (W) and Jablonec (D), whom they’ve played so far. Especially with Getafe having a poor start to the season and Brighton having Premier League title aspirations. Have a good chance of skipping the Europa League to qualify directly for next season’s Champions League.
Despite this and their good form, if there was a good time on paper to play them, this might be it. Brighton have had a busy time playing most midweeks during this mini phase, whereas we go into the 2nd International Break with a whole week to prepare and can leave it all out there with several players then having two weeks off. Yes, I’m still clutching at straws…![]()
....ermmm... don't agree re 'they aren't all that'.... they actually are tbf....and a draw down there wouldn't be boring....it would be a result....a win would be off the scale. We can get something here, they aren't all that. Bit boring to have another draw but would take one now!
Yep I also think midfield will be Janelt, Yarmo and Jensen leaving us with midfield enforcements from bench of Sangare, Hickey and Damsgaard.I’m very glad to have Yarmo coming back in for this. I’d expect him to get the nod over Sangaré.

They want to do well in Europe... but getting out of that group should be a formality, they will be making every league game a priority. I suspect they'd even trade missing out on the top 8 of the group (skipping a round) for say 3 extra PL points. CL qualification would dwarf the rewards of winning the conference league, much as a trophy is nice. They want that Conference League Trophy.
Especially has it has got Palace DNA all over it and the taunt of "have you won anything yet ?"
Some might enjoy watching this, others not, perhaps, but I think, as a tactical viewpoint, it gives us a little more insight as to what we are likely to encounter on Sunday.

If all the players know that's what's happening and drop into cover positions, then it's great tactic. Just think Lewis-Potter for us being a full back who, when we're attacking, will look for free spaces anywhere on the pitch – our other players know what's going on and flex shape accordingly. It's all part of modern football's "chaos" that often makes formation graphics look a bit silly.Bonkers to have centre backs running all over the pitch man-marking imho.
Yes eventually CBs will be more like CDMs and play in different areas to traditional formations - look at Guardiola playing with his fullbacks dropping into midfield a couple of seasons ago to create an overload. If all the players know that's what's happening and drop into cover positions, then it's great tactic.
