Not sure what was "odd" about that, unless you mean the fact that the referee, commentators and even the fouled player's team mates seemed not to see it.

Maybe this is wrong thread bc I don’t think either red is questionable, but I do think the Inter Miami red is remarkable in that he is possibly subject to law here as Cavan Sullivan is only 16. As for Cavan Sullivan he’s a bit of a hothead, but hoping that dies down as he gets older (he has an automatic transfer to either City or Chelsea when he turns 18 fyi) and I can respect going to stand up for your brother at least.

Also Messi slapped a guy in the back of the head during this game and no card whatsoever

EDIT: The Philadelphia Union player (Cavan Sullivan) had his red card rescinded through the appeals process (no presidential interference)

...but today, the bloody Turkish league dinged me for a full-on copyright strike, meaning I'm on a knife-edge with youtube... Will have to just lay low for a few weeks to let my previous strike from the Croatian league expire... plenty of videos get blocked (without copyright strikes), and it's all a bit of a grey area, but does seem unnecessary to put a full copyright strike on stuff like this. Oh well. Hope you enjoy the top 10, anyway :)

Edon Pruti was sent off for Grimsby yesterday for serious foul play. It’s remarkable because the challenge left Pruti with a double leg break.

Not posting the video because frankly it’s horrible.

Game's gone etc... the first one's a little hard to say but he definitely gets the ball. Neither looks to be red. Lifeline for Crawley, who were adrift at the bottom of the football league but now move within 3pts of their hosts...

Not using the term intent in the context of the laws of football, we know it's moot.
As seasoned sports watchers, there are some things that naturally look like unfortunate accidents and others where we know there was malice involved. This looks more like the former. It does not excuse the Andorra goalkeeper acting extremely recklessly and the Tenerife player has suffered horribly as a result.

Sure it can still be criminal, we'll see, but falls short of the worst criminality where there is intention to do harm. Even if the consequences are worse on this occasion, some of the acts in the "Footballers in Trouble" thread are more suited for criminal consideration.
Will also write "eyes only on the ball" before someone else does. Doesn't excuse the recklessness.
Hope Jesus de Miguel rests in peace and Jesus Owono is being supported. He must be feeling absolutely awful, while dealing with the backlash.

I think I'll save my sympathy for the family of the deceased rather than wasting any energy on the goalkeeper who has commited a foul as bad or worse than Harald Schumacher in 82.

He had no need to be that far out of goal, had no concern for the player with that kind of challenge and likely meant it hence why his knee was up and he waltzed straight off.

He'll probably be arrested

He didn’t waltz off, however. The second he realised that it was an emergency he returned to check.
