Now AS needs to find a loan keepr, a Reading fan at work says Federici is very highly rated. He's just finished a loan spell at Southend, I'm sure Coppell will help out.

Federici is a better keeper than Hamer and would be an excellent stop gap if available

Histon's no 23 Wright, he reminds me so much of Robert Taylor

Brentford’s loss is Histon’s gain! Lanre joined the club in July 2008 and has immediately made a positive impact. His call up to the Ireland under-19 squad is a mark of just how much potential this young man has. If he fulfils his ambitions with Histon FC it can only be a good thing for him and the club.

First team debut: Mansfield Town v Histon, 12/08/2008 as a substitute.
Full first team debut: York City v Histon, 16/08/2008.

What I saw of him on highlights programme when he came in for a couple of games in the Premiership, he looked good. I think we would be claiming it as an emergency loan and only for a couple of games, so see no reason why Reading wouldn't help us out?

Saw Federici play this season for Southend and thought he was actually very suspect. He seemed rooted to his line and scared of crosses. Although a reasonable shot stopper.

Who would you like to see the club sign

he looked pretty average from what I saw.

He got taken to the cleaners a few times and was often caught out of position. Didn't see any promise at all from this one showing.

How about looking at Chelsea reserves helping us out. Rhys Taylor would be adequate cover for Hamer for a couple of games. Plus he's already made the England U-21 squad. ;)

Firstly we only need the loanee for one game and I personally would prefer somebody with experience ,even an old fart, who can come in, not be fazed, know what it is all about and lead by example

Nathan Abbey?

Why would MK Dons leave themselves exposed to a keeper crisis by loaning out their bench warmer to get 1 game and then warm our bench for three weeks.
If an experienced keeper were to come in it would have to be one that is out of contract or the club loaning have adequate 3rd choice keepers.

Whilst I'm not suggesting MK will let us have Abbey we can do a loan for a week (which would effectively probably be Thursday to Saturday).

If Reading come through tonight unscathed I would have thought Federici is a good shout.

I jest, he just met the criteria and doesn't play that much, that's all. IMO he should still have been with us and we shouldn't have signed that useless Brown bit I'm over it.;)

& not after his performance for Mansfield against us last season!!!

Who would you like to see the club sign

would make sense if we can/could afford his wages

Who would you like to see the club sign

Norwich's reserve keeper hasn't got off the bench this season ...

I hear he is a quiet unassuming young lad who has a great rapport with the fans and specialises in catching crosses. He has a fantastic long and accurate drop kick too.

Lets get him in ASAP!

Who would you like to see the club sign

Paul Smith back on loan would bee nice ;)

:sorted:Agree with Claire. According to Forest fans he had a bust up with the manager and was dropped. loan keeper broughtin and Paul is now on the bench. He is a great keeper and a Brentford fan. Bees might be able to do a deal with him as he told me once at GP he loves playing and stopping goals and he isn't doing that at Forest now..

Any keeper who has authority over his back four and can CATCH crosses not punch them, use throws to set of attacks down the wings and isn't full of their own importance.
Perhaps I'm asking for a tad too much!!!

Who would you like to see the club sign

Jimmy Glass? Or has he finally given up the game at the ripe old age of 146?

Who would you like to see the club sign

I know some are in jest. But can some of you get a reality check on what to expect. The likes of Smith or Nelson would leave their own clubs in crisis should their current number 1 be injured or suspended. Why would they loan someone to a league 2 club for effectively 1 game to replace Hamer to then sit on the bench at Brentford?
If we sign anyone it won't be a bench warmer from a club in the top 2 divisions but more likely their 3rd choice, or a bench warmer in the lower 2 divisions at best. But probably someone out of contract that has been training but not playing for anyone.
Options are and will be limited. So don't expect too much. :sorted:

Peter Shilton don't play much these days.

Can we sign Dave Bee as keeper ;)

Mikkel Anderson, doesn't quite fit your wish list..

True but we have to get what we can and Reading have been as helpful as usual for which we have to thank them.

He has done OK on loan in the Conference and hopefully can rise to the occasion on Saturday:wave:

The goalkeeper from the first team at my Sunday club plays on a Saturday for Harrow Borough. We had a 'shandy' tonight and he was was drooling over Robin Shroot, apparently Birmingham will be making a bid shortly.

These stats seem to back it up

A goalscorer at a lower level and surely worth a go

Twenty years of age

Get him in !!!

Getting headlines in Harrow Times' reports currently. Scored 2 last Saturday, & a hat trick in Tuesday's 6-2 extra time win over Enfield in Middx. Senior Cup. A number of clubs had scouts watching...

hmmm, seems like a good investment for the midfield area.. versatile and very commanding:)

any news on how he did in training?

-sorry for my bad english-

Who would you like to see the club sign

I see even Reading had him in for trial in november.

He played a reserves game against Exeter, but they did'nt offer him any contract even though they said he had been doing well while training.

this is what he feels himself: (told to evening herald)

"I had a good week over there and though it seems like it won't lead to anything at Reading it was a great experience for me, because I know I can play at that level"

interesting!
