Here's an interesting piece of trivia...

...Alan Nelmes holds a pretty remarkable record in that between March 1969 and February 1973 he played in 133 consecutive league matches for Brentford - and played every minute of every one of those games!

Can't see that being beaten in modern-day football.

That resulted in him missing the replay and ending his unbroken run.

However, it didn't count (obviously!) towards his consecutive league stretch as he was back for the next league match.

Wasn't Andy Sinton concussed at Peterborough, which is why he was carried off, and he missed the replay the following midweek because there was, and may still be, a medical rule that you couldn't play for a certain period of time after a concussion injury?

Or have I just imagined it all?

That was the case, I'm sure.

Steve Phillips played quite a lot of consecutive games, I think. First time I remember him being omitted was his final game, when he came on as sub. May have missed some through injury, but not many, if I remember correctly

Andy Sinton missed the replay against Peterborough (14th Dec) 4 days after the first game (10th dec), but played on the Sunday (18th dec.) v Aldershot.

Andy Sinton only missed one game while at BFC, League and Cup matches, the replay v Peterborough United.

Why doesn't Andy get back to BFC much these days? He would be a good guest.

I think Phillips played 167 consecutive games. He was dropped by Fred Callaghan for the final home game of the season against Millwall. Tony Funnell, Bill Dogin's last signing, scored the winner, which kept us up. Millwall played at almost walking pace and we still struggled to beat them. Unsurprisingly, Phillips left us in the summer.

interesting. did a check, i got 156 consecutive league games started (subbed 3 times), including League and Cup, i make it 166, the last game v Millwall he came on as a sub which made the 167. He played in every game he could have played in to.

Sinton was featured on a recent episode of Where Are They Now on Sky. Manager at Fleet Town and working for a mate in burglar / fire alarm systems. Maybe Sinton was at Leeds testing theirs just before the final whistle?

I thought I read Once that Gerry Cakebread held the record for most Consecutive Bees games, not sure how many but he wouldn`t have been subbed as substitutes came in 1965 I believe after Gerry had retired.
