can't see Bristol City lending one of their players to a fellow Championship side, especially Swansea....

I would have thought a young lad of 19 would be better having a season in lge 2 with Brentford than warming the bench in the championship

James Wilson (Cheltenham Town)

that is possibly the worst website i have ever seen in my life.

James Wilson (Cheltenham Town)

Get him in for the season! He was a class act today :sorted:

Concerned because McCombe, City's first choice central dfender was stretchered off today against Derby. Hope we don't lose him to a recall.

James Wilson (Cheltenham Town)

wasnt really tested enough for me to go OTT about him yet but he did nothing wrong today

Oh sh*t! Wilson looks absolute class (couldn't believe the "headless chicken" comments after the Woking game!), and I would love it if we could keep him for the season...

He did ONE thing wrong - he let their striker Taylor get past him and take a lob at goal which thankfully went over the bar... then he really started to play!

He's still short of a bit of experience, but not confidence - centre-backs who are comfortable on the ball aren't exactly ten a penny in this division. Question is, can we hang on to him once the initial loan expires?

James Wilson (Cheltenham Town)

I thought he was was class simple as.

James Wilson (Cheltenham Town)

played very well :sorted: loved the run at them and the ball played to charlie,, class act :) think a season here is a must for him and us :D

James Wilson (Cheltenham Town)

open your eyes-this lad is going to be a big star

James Wilson (Cheltenham Town)

Turner-esque but without the iffy first home game.

James Wilson (Cheltenham Town)

looked good today, played a lovely ball to Charlie Mac which he scored from, looks a good young prospect. just hope he keeps it up!

James Wilson (Cheltenham Town)

NLB's comments worry me, City have now had two defenders stretchered off in the last few days, plus Wilson impressed for them pre-season, lets hope Johnson thinks he's not Championship standard yet !.

James Wilson (Cheltenham Town)

...................looked good today..................nice possession for the first goal.......................

James Wilson (Cheltenham Town)

Marvellous game. All of my strongly held cb fears were allayed by him which was a very pleasant surprise. I had worried that we wouldn't be strong enough at the back but this guy won every ball, dived into clean tackles and carried the ball far better than you would expect a 19 year old. I even think that Bennett was able to raise his game because of the confidence he had in him.

Full season please. :sorted:

Looked good, great run for the first goal, Buttigieg-esque!!. Would like to see him in a proper competitive game though, sure he'll get that next week.. :sorted:

He was a class act today, won every header, assured on the ball and read the game well.

He is like Turner with pace, would be great to have him for the season!

James Wilson (Cheltenham Town)

We HAVE to try to keep this guy for the season. He's got a great career ahead of him and I hope that some of it is spent in the red&white stripes making League two cloggers look like knobs

James Wilson (Cheltenham Town)

He was class... Looked much better than Heywood at the other end!

Sign him up...:sorted:

James Wilson (Cheltenham Town)

Nick Logan yesterday... "He looks like a young Keith Curle"lol

James Wilson (Cheltenham Town)

..................comfortable on the ball, good in the air.........looks to be a good prospect.............

I have a lot of family and friends in the Bristol area (both City and Rovers fans). The City element tell me that there is no hope of us getting Wilson on a permanent basis, but if we are lucky we might get to keep him for the season.

They also tell me that if we think he is good, wait until you see the other Lonee.

Thats not the first time a City supporter has said that about F.Artus

Well, on the evidence of only one game (although I hear he played a stormer at Swansea), I rate him a better prospect than Keith Millen was at the same age.

Turner? Well, that's a different story. Anyone who saw his "Alamo" display at Colchester knew he was bound for the Premiership. And I heard that Celtic bid £5 M for him last season (my understanding is that we get a sell-on fee).

I predict that we will be watching James Wilson on "Match of the Day" for years to come. But such spindly legs!

Wilson looks like he is out of favour at Bristol as they have signed a CB on loan for six moths to cover injuries no mention of taking him back for cover

I rang a friend of mine who is a avid city fan apparantly Gary Johnson is not a fan of Wilson wich is why he has let him out on loan

James Wilson (Cheltenham Town)

hes out of contract at the end of the year too....

We said that about Turner...

James Wilson (Cheltenham Town)

It sounds as if we may have a shot at getting him for the season as BCFC are currently having a CB crisis and don't seem to require him as they have brought in someone else. Although I don't think they can recall him during the first month?!?

Having said that fans on the BCFC forums have seen how much we are raving about him on here and think maybe he is worth a go.

Either way I hope Scott has seen the potential and is doing everything he can to get him here for the season at least, I think having him here beyond a month improve us massively!

James Wilson (Cheltenham Town)

looks like he wants to stay for the whole season :) according to the chronicle.

If Connell goes, we might be able to afford him !

James Wilson (Cheltenham Town)

Just read the Chronicle sounds like the lad has his feet on the ground and would rather stay with us than sit on the bench in the CCC

I would assume we still have money available that was due to be spent on Leigh Mills (remember him?) season-long loan, that could now go on his replacement. If anything a lad from Brizzle City should be a bit cheaper that one from Spurs...

or are you suggesting...a Michael Turner-esque....permanent transfer swoop

James Wilson (Cheltenham Town)

I know I've only seen this lad play ONCE, but he oozed such ability on that occasion that I do believe that permanently signing him would be equal to the signing Michael Turner if we managed to :sorted:
