Southeastern Trains - Engineering works on Sunday 17 February

Apologies to the MODs if this has already been covered elsewhere but......!

For us Kent Bees it appears that there are no trains running into London Victoria on Sunday. It seems that all Metro Services are being diverted into Blackfriars and other services up from Kent are being diverted into Cannon Street via London Bridge (in addition, there will be no Underground services from from Blackfriars or Cannon Street - how very helpful). The following is copied from the Southeastern website:

"Network Rail are working to improve the signalling between London Victoria, Brixton and Herne Hill this coming weekend.

This means no Southeastern services will run to or from London Victoria station on Sunday 17 February.

As a result:

- London Victoria / Orpington Metro services are diverted to operate to / from London Blackfriars;
- London Victoria / Ashford International and London Victoria / Ramsgate / Dover Priory services will both operate to / from London Cannon Street (via London Bridge);
- Mainline train services will not call at Bromley South.

London Underground will accept valid Southeastern tickets between London Bridge, Elephant & Castle, Brixton and Victoria stations via any reasonable route.

There will also be a shuttle bus service running between London Blackfriars and London Victoria, as no underground services will call at Blackfriars or Cannon Street."

Hope that's a help to some of us exiled Bees.

Well this should be interesting day of travel on our brilliant transport system

After looking at various options, decided on Lingfield to Clapham to Wimbledon and then District tube to Fulham Broadway. Seems to be the simplest way avoids going central.
Trains running to Wimbledon regularly from Clapham and the District seems to be working fine on the day from Wimbledon.
So anyone coming from the South, think about it.

Can the Piccadilly line carry 40k plus in a short space of time?

Beware Various Train Problems Scheduled For 17/02/2013

If you are arriving from the south at clapham junction 295 bus from there to Fulham Broadway appears to be the quickest option 15 mins. You could probably even walk to stammo from clapham quicker than that roundabout Wimbledon route - it's not all that far.

So Just to clarify………………

I’m coming into London St Pancras International around 10am ish on Sunday – I can still get the normal Piccadilly line (dark blue line) from St Pancras / Kings Cross or is the whole underground station shut at this station???

That route should be fine. Piccadilly is ok and district line from Earls Court to Fulham Broadway is ok too.

Can the Piccadilly line carry 40k plus in a short space of time?

It copes well enough when Chelsea play at home to the likes of Arsenal, Spurs & West Ham. Let alone all the away clubs that fill their away section.

Whats the best way from hounslow?

How about from Liverpool st ?

Beware Various Train Problems Scheduled For 17/02/2013

When you get to Earls Court just walk it, don`t bother switching onto the District line F Broadway. It`s really only 10 mins walk.

Also you can walk from Putney BR if a nice day takes 45 mins.
