As far as I recall he came to notice in a pre-season friendly at Tonbridge Angels, when he made several incisive passes. Sadly never quite fulfilled that early promise. I think he may do well at Swinedon.

I'm slightly surprised he had his contract terminated rather than went on a free transfer but there's probably a technical/commercial reason for it. Maybe partially paying up his remaining contract meant he didn't need a signing on fee from Swindon so they could meet his wages.

Never quite got there. IMO had we still been a middish to lower League 1 side with no possibility of anything more, then he might have been OK.We've moved on and the bus left him behind. I'm sure he has a career ahead in League 1 or 2.

We could look at it in the light that Swindon have got one back for the 2 good uns that we have got from them.

Probably something to do with potentially being out of work in 5 months when he could have been paid by BFC untul next July.

It's good news for Jake to pursue and develop his career, and an opportunity to get regular games.
So wish him well.

Swindon and BFC also seem to have done this deal efficiently for all concerned
it seems to me that this deal is the way it should be done, unlike the AF/Wigan chaos by those up the M6.

Good luck Jake like most i think it's a good move for him and pretty obvious the club have settled his contract to make the move possible.
Was never going to be more than a bit part here and with the possibility to get a full season starting under his belt i think it's the best career move he could possibly make.

Good luck Jake. Hope the move works out. Thanks for your efforts here particularly Sheff Utd away a couple of seasons back. I'm sure if we were the same club we were 3 or 4 seasons ago you would have had a very long career here - but we have moved on and up.

Good luck Jake. A very tidy player with a very good touch. Reminds me very much of Paul Buckle who had a lot of ability but lacked a bit of physicality to thrive at a higher level. Buckle carved out a decent playing (and management) career, would not be at all surprised if Jake does the same. Will be watching your progress with interest.

Sensible move all round although I wish we had a sell on. Wish we could have done a deal like the one that brought Forshaw here ie. nowt paid up front but sell on included, As contract was terminated, I doubt this happened. Good luck to Jake though.

Ps. Does this mean Forshaw is staying :fishing:

Promising young player but struggled to really get a firm grip on a regular starting place.

Don't like Swindon but hope he does the business there and earns plenty of personal accolades.

Always looked to move the ball forward which I liked. Shame he couldn't make it with us but I'm sure he will elsewhere.
I saw him play twice at sheff Utd in two seasons. The first he was way out of depth but put in a great performance the following season.

Good luck to him but he didn't develop into the player that was hoped. Not good enough for the Championship, IMO, but will hopefully develop into a good league 1 footballer.

Good luck to the guy not 100% surprised by this. A decent player i remember seeing him play for the reserves 4 or 5 years ago and you could see he was a decent player back then but a Championship player not sure. A Division 2 player in my opinion.

All this "never developed into the player we'd hoped" is a bit premature I feel; remember he's still only 21 :shrug:

He was never going to get enough games here to further his development but I reckon he'll be a Championship player within three years.

But then I thought Darius Charles was going to be a Brentford legend, so what do I know :cry:

A decent honest hard working player. All credit due to MW by discussing the situation with him, and not letting him stagnate at BFC. Hope he does well at Swindon,
and they give him a much longer contract in January. Good luck to him.

Peel sorry for Reevesy.some people never seemed to give him credit. IMO, he's a superb footballer, a beautiful passer of the ball. He'll do very well wherever he goes and am sure he'll get snapped up. Warbs is becoming a ruthless operator, but guess hr needs to be at this level. Just hope Jake is given a regular starting spot at another club asap. Classy and professional and an overall decent guy. Good luck.
