Mikael Antoine-Curier

...has been released by Forest. Worth getting back for a year to see if he improves?

Mikael Antoine-Curier

Give him another go, if we can afford his wages.

Agreed. I didn't see a lot of him but bring him in on £500 a week on a 2 year deal and flog him after one if he's not all that. Works in Championship Manager, doesn't it ? :D

If he improves drastically yes otherwise GOD NO.

Mikael Antoine-Curier

keep him, he is better than Hughes and Traynor and Peters.

Mikael Antoine-Curier

Was i watching a different player?

Maybe it was because he seemed uninterested.

I'm not saying he was an awful player, just that he isn't nearly as good as Peters, and if we are to achieve anything next year, we need an experienced striker to play alongside Mark

Oh and I agree that he rarely seemed to get stuck in

Mikael Antoine-Curier

ohh yeah curier, first year as a pro gets 3 goals in about 10 games peters 3rd year as a pro gets 1 goal all season.

Mikael Antoine-Curier

Curier was bolloxs end of story.

Peters played 3 games 1 goal .Curier 10 games 3 goals

So peters is the better player & always will be.

Mikael Antoine-Curier

No Peters aint better than Curier, lets see next season when we sign curier who produces more on the pitch.

Curier was a cart horse and no mistake - Peters knows where the goal is - he reminded me a bit of Steve Phillips.

What do you have against Peters? You slate him non stop. Also Peters it well and good saying 1 goal all season but you fail to take into account he only made 3 starts and as far as I'm aware it was his second season as a pro. Furthermore what did Currier do if he didn't score absolute **** all. As you wern't at the QPR I'll admit you missed Peters at his very best that day and a very poor and imo typical peformance from Currier who was abosloute crap. However did you not see how Peters turned the game when he replaced Crappier on the final day of the season against Peterbourgh? We were a different side all because we had something decent up front instead of Crappier and Rowan Wasteoftime. Did you see Peters dribble past three players to shoot against the cross bar hardly crap hey?

If we sign Curier- Peters will show how he is 10 times the player he is. Pity Peters didn't get to show how much better he was then Mcammon was- but at least McCammon worked hard and offered something to the team which Curier doesn't.

He's alright, but I'd rather have Henry any day... ;)

Mikael Antoine-Curier

i did miss the rangers game, but from what i have seen of peters he hasnt done anything although he was ok against peterborough. Whats your problem with antoine curier Holysmit? he chasses everyball and can compete with the Henry's of this world.

10 times better lets not go over the top, i think vine, curier, peters would be a good combination, its just curier is better.

TRUST ME I KNOW MY FOOTBALL! ;)

Super Mack has turned out to be a good player recently and leo roget too, antoine curier will be a good player. So stop moaning about it! :D

Mikael Antoine-Curier

Antoine-Curier is ok but we should be looking to pick up better players than him on a free.
He didnt exactly set GP alight, bearing in mind that 2 of his 3 goals were from all of a yard.

Mikael Antoine-Curier

Mickey Tony Curry's main problem is a complete lack of hustle. Maybe if he has to go hungry on the streets of Nottingham all summer he'll get with the programme.

My problem with Curier is I think he has an attitude on the pitch which makes him lazy. Although he does do a bit of running he doesn't contest headers or tackles and this in my opinion is because he's lazy. Also Henry is a tad better then Currier I think.

As for McCammon yes he has done very well for himself recently and I wish him luck because as I said he did offer something to the team due to the effort he put in.

As for Roget think you've got me confused with someone else i'm a big fan of his thinks hes very solid and reliable.

Now whats your problem with Jay Smith? ;)

Mikael Antoine-Curier

If we sign Curier aswell as getting Vine back for another season that means that those two would probably be our starting strikeforce for next season, meaning Peters dropping down the pecking order. I think most of us on here would agree that Peters needs an extended run in the side to show how exceptional he is. If he is playing back up to those two and coming on as a sub every now and then we're never going to see the true Peters.

I'd much prefer to have Vine back for another season than Curier. You're right Holysmit, Peters did change the game against Peterbrough and from what we saw of him for the last few games of the season he is defineatly worth a starting place next season. I think as a club we tend to look to replace what we've already got without giving them a real go. Don't forget we've still got players like Blackman Traynor and Hughes whom none of us have seen given a real shot in the first team. How can Homerbees say that Curier is better than Traynor and Hughes when neither of them have been given an extended run in the side.

Mikael Antoine-Curier

I think there is more to come from the French bloke than we saw, he is only 19 after all, he may just need a it of time to adjust to life in Div2.

As for signing him it will depend on whether Wally thinks he can get anyone better.

May be worth a three month contract like Price to see if he makes good, I doubt he will be swapped with offers.

Mikael Antoine-Curier

cant really believe there is actually a argument about who is better curier or peters. is this homerbees guy wally downes in disguise? did he see the peterborough game curier was useless and lazy as always (gotta have the worst touch i ever seen from a french footballer) and we came to life when tabb and peters came on. and if you know anything about football you would know peters goal against QPR was a touch of class could curier honestly have scored a goal like that?

Mikael Antoine-Curier

perhaps a 3 month contract to see if he can cut it, but I wouldn't be too upset if we didn't sign him.

NO YOU KNOB!

Micky antony Curry isnt bad, i know my football he is a good player. He can finnish, makes good runs and is fairly strong. It wasnt you hollysmit it was bees 66 who disagreed with me when i said roget would be a good signing now look who was proved right. I also said Mark was a good player now look how well he is doing, securing a 2 year deal.

Jay Smith cant pass and has little creativity, did you see the game against Cardiff and Tranmere? The midfield created nothing!

Mikael Antoine-Curier

This is a very boring thread...we are not going to get either KAC MAC of vine back next year and I am glad.

We have been through one of the drabbest dourest most depressing seasons in the last 40 years and at least if relegated it could have had a purpose!

I want last season to go away as far as possible. There are 1000 players out of contract, lets start afresh and hope for the best. I don't want any reminders of last year thank you. I don't want to see vine, mac, fullarton or even somner any more..it depresses me to see the desperation of this season.

If we are releasing players like rowlands then 91 league clubs plus hundreds of non league clubs must be releasing their best players as well...lets hope our scouts can earn their corn this summer!

Mikael Antoine-Curier

Peters and Tab will imo be our best strikers for the next seasons... Peters is youg, and Tab i too.

Courier doesn't have the guts that you need to do well a whole season. Wally has said himself after the Wycombe game, that Peters is a enourmus talent, and it's just unluck that he's been so much injured through the last couple of years...
He also said that he will be one of our best strikers for next season, and that he is a absoulte first choise when he's in form...

IMO Vine and Courier could just get lost for next season... Especially if we gets someone better on free transfer for next season...
Peters (Striker) and Tab (Striker, midfielder), will be very good 2003/2004... Belive you me!

Anyone know if Taribo West (Central Defender) has signed with any club? He's freetransfer (I think), and VERY good on CM :D:D

 :nono:

What purpose would that have been then?????????????

Mikael Antoine-Curier

I would be surprised if we got Curier back, especially with our reduced budget and the possible signing of the gut from Eastbourne.

I didn't really rate him but I did have the feeling there was more to come from him. He scored strikers goals, not enough of them I know, but they were poachers golas. With more service he would probably score lots more.

If he got a good kick up the arse, imporved his work rate and his aerial ability then he could be a decent striker.

Mikael Antoine-Curier

good young player who has a lot of natural skill. Definitely one to keep.

Mikael Antoine-Curier

mr antoine curier is sh*te end of story, wouldn't waste the money on him,im not even sure about vine!!!!!!!

Mikael Antoine-Curier

No doubt he was only playing for us, because Forest allowed us to pay 1% of his wages.

Unfortunately, as Mark Chapman keeps reminding us, we cannot afford sensational talents like Curier. Therefore if Curier wishes to continue his playing career, I suggest he gets down to our bigger rivals from The Shay, Sincil Bank, Layer Road and Spotland for a few trials!

Mikael Antoine-Curier

Well i thought he looked reasonably skillful in his first game, but apparently i was drunk that day! I agree with West Ealing B that he scored striker goals, which is obvioulsy a plus. I think he showed alot of determination at times, kicking the air in disgust after a poor miss and alike.

Having said all this tho, I really don't think he's worth signing. He wouldn't bag alot of goals with our present setup because we need creative strikers like Peters that can make themselves a goal without relying on the midfield. As for signing him as backup, once again pointless...MAC cannot turn a game a la Peters coming off the bench.

Mikael Antoine-Curier

The thing about centre forwards is you can never tell how good they are until they get a run in the team.

Some players are total total sh1te, but managed to tap in goals all over the place. CF are a funny breed! Joe allon was the most hopeless player I ever saw, he couldn't pass, run, trap a ball but his goal scoring record is actually very good.

Forwards need to be given a chance but do we want to be taking the chance again?..look at constantine!
I would rather we took a chance on a player who scores prolifically in non league because they may suddenly find it just as easy to drift into positions and tap it in at this level.

If we keep taking on players that have failed at first division level I am not convinced they will be able to produce at our level either

Mikael Antoine-Curier

Looking at the responses, it seems clear that we need a forward who can create goals out of nothing by himself, score strikers' goals (tap ins), win headers, beat people, work himself senseless and have a great first touch. Plus, be a proven goalscorer in non-league and the league itself: he should also be about 19 or 20 so he can still improve. And only want £500 a week.

Bound to be loads of people with all those qualifications around, aren't there?

Do I want Vine back? No. Do I want M-A C back? Probably not. Hey!!! Let's get Lorenzo Pinamonte back!!! OR, failing him, Murray Jones, Stan Webb and Andy Woon.
