All-ticket away games: Who should get tickets first?

northantsbee said:
Why not? Didnt affect me much probably learn more on the terraces anyway lol

I used to bunk off and do it myself, kids of today...

I must add that I am very surprised that the tickets were not all snapped up by ST holders.

Should the club announce that by keeping your Colchester stub you will be welcome to a Bournemuff ticket?:sorted: Too simple for words.

Save on the " I've been a ST holder for 473 years and demand to go to my first away game of the season" scenario.

I agree, that many tickets for a game as important as this should have been sold by now.

I accept the possible switch might have had an effect but to sell less than half to season ticket holders, and members who could buy for a day, is a bit poor.

The Colchester - Bournemouth pay-off is a good idea, but I bet there will be some who think otherwise.

How about stubs from Yeovil, Gillingham, Doncaster, Swansea...........

All nice easy midweek away games from Northamptonshire! :fishing:

No, cos a few of the glory boys have just woken up to the fact we might actually do it this season.

Those season ticket holders you mention have kept this club in business. :sorted:

Alot of ST holders will be older, with kids, etc and Col U isn't really an away day for them. We usually have a good turn out there but it's usually pay on the day. We WILL sell out but you have to wait for the people who usually go there to be able to buy the tickets/get their asses in gear.

Got loads of away registrations now. :bound: assuming they have all been recorded

Yes but they don't do away games!:nono:

I used to an ST holder, then I went to most games without being one and finally I moved away and am not a ST anymore. I used to find ST holders who were able bodied and had the time, cash but not the inclination sort of strange supporters. Then these people moan that they can't get tickets for big games, a gloryhunter with a ST in my book.:sorted:

Season Ticket holders should always be near the pecking order, they are the lifeblood of the club. If we get promoted, perhaps we can set up an "away season ticket". This will sort the moaners out.

Excellent idea and one that i put forward before the beginning of this season for exactly the type of reason as Bournemouth and Charlton...... I agree ST holders should be near the top however, IMHO it should be a case of ST holder with AWAY registration, then those that have for example 15 or more away games, (depending on when in the season obviously) and THEN ST holders without registration. THis would stop all those ST holders who only come out for 'big/glory' games. But hey thats old news..............

I know and I'm not arguing with you but ST holders couldn't sell out Colchester or Doncaster or Bradford or Huddersfield or Bristol or........... but they will sell out Bournemouth.lol
Granted ST holders are great and they keep telling us but only a small % of them get off their hairy backsides and support the team outside of London, then as Billy Ocean puts it "suddenly" they're in love with the idea of away travel.:sorted:
Surely you see my point.

I got the impression the STh's were a much needed part of a lower-league club, providing the £££ to see the club thorugh the summer months.

I would guess that 75/80% of regulars at away games have a S-T:confused:

so 105 at Donny were ST holders, potentially 247 at Bradford were ST holders and maybe the same amount at Hudders were and around 200 were at Walsall then! But 2300 will be at Bournemouth, please get the point and don't be silly.
This is startiing to do my head in, we have 3,000 ST holders?? and when have we had 3,000 or anywhere near 3,000 away from home?
Not selling out at fecking Colchester that's for sure.

All-ticket away games: Who should get tickets first?

Understand and agree with your point N. Bee. The present system is pants. Would be worse if Col Utd was the last game instead of Bournemouth.
S-T holders should be high up the pecking order but a PROPER registration scheme is the way forward, which would be much easier to implement/manage if we go up as i`d imagine virtually every opponent would provide advanced tickets:wave:

I think (hope you dont mind me speaking for you here NB) what NB and I are trying to say is that people like him and me who dont have season tickets but rarely miss a game (in my case 2 all season) will get pushed out of going to Bournemouth by Season Ticket holders who may have managed to make the effort to go to Charlton, but didnt bother with any of the others...... and i guess though it can be construed to be our own fault, that we feel that this is a little unfair.......

I'm sorry, but the phrase "tough sh*t" applies. Season Ticket holders prop this club up and if they only want to trot around for the big games then, yes a bitter pill for peeps like you which go to most away games but at the end of the day, ST should come near the pecking order as they fork out for their club.

Putting £300 in opposing fans clubs pockets over the course of one season does not help BFC one bit.

The registration scheme at present is the best that can be hoped for.

I think we've had this chat before though on here :D, I take it your Season Ticket application will be filled out for the next campaign. :fishing:

There is a fair number (just that I know) who dont get a S-T as they cannot make GP for midweek games. They get no financial benefit if they miss say 6 home matches. This category doesnt seem to be recognised:wave:

I havent decided yet........... but please Markbfc open your eyes, its isnt only the Season Ticket holders that underpin the club other supporters, BU members etc do to. In fact if it hadnt been for peeps like those that donate regularly and sometimes significantly (in terms of their disposable income) to BU then BFC would have been in even more of a mess than it is now, despite the ST holders. :fishing:

It should be viewed as a joint effort perhaps.

Agreed at the moment:

ST have first preference
BU (and other categories have second

People who are not in BU, don't have a season ticket but went to Hartlepool away should have no more preference than people who went to hartlepool at home.

Season Ticket with away registration should be category 1
People with significant away registration 2
Season Ticket Holders with NO away registration/BU members etc 3

IMHO and obviously ONLY applicable for away games.

No but their voucher would still be applicable to that game should they chose to use it just like it would be if you bought a ticket a week in advance from the club

As a BU member, I can't believe that 3 of us are able to get Colchester tickets when only 1300 were available. I'm happy but astonished they were not snapped up. Well played the ST holders.lol

I repeat the 3 of us plus 2 from NorthantsBee so I make that at least 5 availalble after the blood support had finished getting theirs.

Exactly, sorry Northants.

Aside from Luton Bee's valid points there are lots of logistical problems too. You have to make those season tickets booklets different also otherwise you'll get people trying it on at the turnstiles.

Your argument was based on the fact you went to most away games, not on how much you spent in the club shop. :sorted:

How about cutting out the DVDs and just get a ST? :D

If I was not a season ticket holder I would NEVER expect preferential treatment over them. Sorry, this is the way it works in 99% of football clubs in this country, you shouldn’t expect any different.

I'm a season ticket holder that only gets to half a dozen or so away games a season. I have about a 30 minute drive to get to Colchester from my house, I have not yet purchased a ticket for the game however, because I want the people who get to most away games a chance to get first shout. Hope this helps.
Personally I can't understand those that get to all or most the home games not buying a ST anyway.

My argument:confused: was never based on away games, you made that up.lol It was purely that we don't get ST holders following their teams in big numbers yet they will all expect glorious treatment at Bournemouth. I hope we are in the POs and Bournemouth is a nothing game just so I can get my ticket.;) ;) ;)

By the way I/we spend more in petrol, trains and space hopper hole repair kits than local ST holders pay for their ST. Sad but true.lol

Please answer my point on the fact that ST holders haven't bought out Colchester and somehow I have got a ticket that surprised me with it's availability.:fishing:
