Even if we don't, although it's unlikely we'd get him.NorthamptonBee said:James Hayter on a free when we go up.

Les Beeavinu said:Is he out of contract? I'd love him to come. Just the sort of player we need.

LboroBee said:Marcus Stewart.
granted he's 33, but he knows where the goal is.
He wasn't getting a game at BC, but has started quite a few games at Preston since being on loan there.

NorthamptonBee said:Michael Nelson from Hartlepool, never seen him put a foot wrong.
Simon C said:Seen him put a couple of elbows wrong though.
NorthamptonBee said:Is that wrong?

AB said:Provided that they are still on track for their new ground for 07-08 I'd expect Colchester to be able to afford to keep their team intact (if they can run it on 3,500 average gates now no reason why not). If they don't go up this season, I can see them as potential Champions next season, which would be ideal for the move.
NorthamptonBee said:Fair points but would their better players want another season in League one?
Les Beeavinu said:I
Halford for Norwich?
North London Bee said:The Hereford centre half Mkandawere. Quick, strong. Good prospect
sonofabee said:Hardest gap to fill and our biggest obvious weakness is that we have missed a quality leader in midfield since the days of Evans at his peak who helped us dominate games from midfield. At home I can count on one hand the games where our midfield has clicked for more than 45 minutes and dicated the game which is crazy given that we haven't been out of the top 4 all season.
We need an experienced but not ancient playmaker with the ability to put his foot on the ball, pick out players, get up and down the park and mix it when required. A tired old pro on his last legs who blows hot and cold but knows enough to get by is just about adequate if he can motivate the youngsters around him but only at this level.
That for me is where we have fallen short along with a lot of other teams at this level and if we get up where we will get buried in the championship.

Unfortunately IMHO this list looks like candidates that we might have to consider if we stay down.Adam said:All posibilities :
Richard Walker(bristol rovers), Ryan Lowe has no club after his contact was terminated today (17 in 34 this season aint bad), Micheal Reddy (grimsby), Ritchie Barker (Mansfield), Luke Rodgers (crewe), Juan Ugarte (Crewe), Kenny Lunt (Crewe), Ben Burgess (hull), Adam Proudlock (Ipswich) Gary Docherty (Norwich) Nick Chadwick (Plymouth) Andrew Surman (southampton) Wade Small (mk dons) Ryan Williams (Aldershot) Stuart Nethercott (Woking) Ronnie Henry (Stevenage)
Bangor Bee said:Agree with others about Yeates. Although we hammered Tranmere away I thought their forward Zola caught the eye: looked skilful and dangerous.
Simon C said:Not keen on him. He was at Oldham before and only got 4 goals this season. Too inconsistent. We need a free scoring forward.
