Time to get some perspective.

I refer everybody to Page 7 of Sundays programme and the heartbreaking story of 9yr old BEES fanatic Luke Healy. If there is a god he`s a sick ****

We have all had our moans now, but lets get some perspective and enjoy every minute of supporting the BEES because sadly young Luke won`t get the chance.

Please can someone scan it onto this thread and maybe with the help of PG we can do something to remember this little lad.

Lets start to think of how great BFC is and think of Luke and all others who have sadly lost the chance to support our club or have lost someone recently.

Come on Brentford!!

I didn't actually read this article on Sunday, but I'd like to offer my condolences to his family and friends. RIP, Luke

I like the idea of a Luke Healy Memorial type game, any chance of GPGers throwing in a few quid each to get a cup and ask both parties if the annual Brentford v Hampton game could be played for the Luke Healy Cup.

Can Luke be given a squad number for next year? A small gesture on the club's behalf but one that would hopefully show respect and thought to his memory and to his family.

I'm not just a father but also a human being and that story hurts.

Condolences to Luke's family.

Good idea about the Cup, Glasgow. I am never going to be in the Supporters XI (because I would show you all up for the second-rate footballers you really are) but I will gladly organise the collection for the cup and get it sorted out.

Agreed. A squad number for Luke would be a fitting gesture.

i read this on sunday and i admit i had a lump in my throat.

for any young child to pass away is sad. but they (ill children) always show amazing courage and still have a great sense of humour.

i think a squad number AND a Luke Healy memorial game/friendly is a great idea with proceeds going to the parents choice charity.

BIAS and the GPG could set something up i'm sure. Any sponsorship will be forthcoming from me.

RIP young Luke Healy.

Count me in!

Despite all his obvious suffering no money could buy the radiant smile on his little face as he proudly wears his Bees shirt.

Perhaps the club (Peter Gilham?) could approach his parents with regard to him be allocated a squad number next season - as I am sure that many people would sponsor his kit with money going to the British Heart Foundation or other nominated charities of their choice.

PG is on the case and speaking to the staff nurse who contacted BFC.

I think a squad number and a supporters match at the training ground at £20 a player, plus bar and barbecue. Should raise a few quid.

Certainly puts it all into perspective.
Will help publicise any idea taken on, providing that's what the family wants. First step to any memorial game etc I guess would be contacting the family through the club...

very very sad, didn't buy the programme on sunday, heard about it on GPG in another thread and I'm surprised there hasn't been more about it. Anyone dying that young is particularly tragic.

Makes you realise how lucky you are to be fit and healthy and how precious life is. Puts everything and all the disappointments recently into context.
