Just got a text from Brentford Bob to say that the ex player just released from Gillingham none other than 64 year old Paul Smith is down training with the squad..

Is this what we have to look forward to? Brentford has beens released from other first division clubs and a centre forward who happens to know the Manager?

I thought that he was released from Gillingham some time back and he actually played against us at Swindon at the end of last season.

Training doesn't mean he's signing for us. If he makes an impression we might offer him something but I imagine we'll see alot more triallists than under Allen. Think of Wally's pre-seasons

It tends to be like that for every manager who has his first pre-season. Coppell, Webb, Noades and Perryman were all the same.

Just for the record..so is Kevin Dearden (That'll please Brickie Chap!) and don't think we've got rid of Paul Brooker yet!! He's down there as well..

Oh, and it IS Paul Smith Ex Gillingham... not the keeper...

Apparantly, there was an advert for a leopardkinned wearing dyke to entice more supporters to Brentford and she jumped at the chance to "work with" ex Gulls again.....

so look out for her boys, she'll be there with her "skins" on, fag on and "sassy" looks in the forecourt of Braemar Rd to entice you all..what lucky boys you are :eek:

I'd prefer Dearden as Keeper coach to George. :fishing: I'm sure he will not be expected to be playing, Masters may well have to play against Blackpool. :fishing:

There will be plenty of players in and the training door ove rthe next few weeks. 100's are unemployed and trying to impress, Smith is just one, don't fret yet. ;) :fishing:

Didn't Smith and Ashby give it the big one after they beat us on their return with Gillingham? He's sh*te now anyway, I don't even want him training with us, we owe him nothing and he isn't even fit to wear a training top yet alone the shirt.

Right, here's what I gleaned from this morning:

Paul Smith is training with Brentford.

Kevin Dearden is coaching the keepers.

Nathan Abbey is also training with us and looks like he'll play on the first day because of Nelsons suspension.

Bankole wasn't there and apparently looks to be going to MK Dons. rofl

Sam Sodje wasn't there as he's in Nigeria.

There were several other triallists who I didn't recognise but their backgrounds apparently included Welling and Hillingdon Boro.:rolleyes:

Ive looked it up on the English Heritage website and I get in free with my membershiplol
