4-4-2?

Depends on the spaud at the start of the season really, but i would like to see something different and more adventurous as long as it involves atleast 2 forwards.

Find a wall and put our back to it.

bit of variety, we struggled last year when we were outnumbered in midfield for example, suppose that aint hard though when we have newman in there

think we should play 3-2-2 until we get 10 outfield players....

8-2 is better, 6 out of the eight playing very deep of course:D

With what we appear to have left come Saturday it is more likely to be.

3-3-2 if we can drag a couple out of the Wheatsheaf by the ground ?

how about a 5-0-5.

We have a lot of strikers and this way we could utalise all of them. Also as we've not been averse to the long ball in years gone by, so why not do a way with the midfield, makes our self strong at the back and then hoof it up the field. With 5 strikers were bound to get one or two goals a game. Sorted.

I think it is deffo 3-2-5 with our signings and losses so far lol

Why not 4-3-3? On the basis that Skulason has to do twice as much running this year to make up for missing last season....

If he can walk at the same pace as Newman but is able to pass the ball we're already better off.

Having thought about Oli, he's now under a tremendous amount of pressure. He's amongst the highest paid players at the Club yet hasn't had a chance to show what he can do and is now expected to be the lynchpin of a depleted midfield come 5th August.

I hope he turns out to be what we expected but there's going to be huge expectation on the fella and he's hardly ever played in front of a crowd.

Actually, that thread's from about five years ago, but the following makes interesting reading...

From the official site we have the following forwards at the club:

Forwards

BRYAN, Derek - looked good before his injury

CHARLES, Julian - really works hard, but doesn't look like he can perform at this level.

FOLAN, Tony - what's he doing in this list!

McCAMMON, Mark - an excuse, I mean injury free season please Mac

O`CONNOR, Kevin - good run in the sqaud required to boost confidence

OWUSU, Lloyd - can't perform at this level, could do with some competition for his place.

PARTRIDGE, Scott - the sheringham of brentford.

PINAMONTE, Lorenzo - donkey that was never run in by Ron

THOMAS, Danny - anyone got any info on this chap?

WILLIAMS, Mark - surely a midfielder whose pace would be more useful down the wing.

At present I'd offload Owusu, purely because I think Kevin / Bryan? can replace him, and we might even get a few quid out of it.

Pinamonte and Charles should be offloaded, because I can't realistically see them being played and we could do with lowering the wage bill - so some old git with white hair keeps saying. Hopefully Orient will stay down in the 3rd, cos they certainly won't sign the donkey if they get up to this level.

I saw him pay for Arsenal in a 5-1 drubbing of Wolves a few seasons back and he was very good!!

Hopefully the injury hasn't had too much affect on his ability and we are sorted :sorted:
