On my final warning
Chris Hope offered one-year deal
Veteran centre-back Chris Hope, who skippered Gillingham last season, has reportedly been offered a twelve month contract with a further year's option to follow by Bees boss Leroy Rosenior.
The 34-year-old is expected to fill the shoes of Michael Turner, who signed for Hull today [Thursday]. He started his career at Darlington, then made a move to Brian Clough's Nottingham Forest. He is perhaps best known for a seven-year stint at Scunthorpe, racking up 333 appearances for The Irons.
He moved to Gillingham in the summer of 2000 for £250,000 before being released last month. He should pass 600 senior appearances this season.
