How about a return for the little man?
He could fill in for Olli or Pinault, has experience, is out of contract and a free agent, about 30 now which will keep Brooker happy as he will no longer be the oldest player, and we have a vacancy or two in central midfield!!

I remember sulking when they had just scored, and looked up at the point when Evo smacked it one. I was wooo hooo ing all the way home :D best goal ever scored imVBo

I've got the Burnley one on my PC here at work.

I've not got YouTube setup as I can't use it here but I can send it to someone so they can do it.

one of those great days to be a bees fan, seeing it mentioned and replayed in places that didnt normally bother to mention us.

They said people would talk about it for years to come. And they still do! What season was this?

I went away with him for a few days after that goal with Bee H, Pandora, Peter G and Andy Scott. We went to a Man Utd dinner and he was announced during the evening as being 'The' Player who had scored from the halfway line at the weekend.. when we left the place he was congratulated by loads of Man Utd fans.. Happy Days!!

the evster was interveiwed by live 5 in car on the way to play golf

but i dont recall anything else from that tour

And I was stood on the Ealing Road terrace as it arrowed into the top corner of the goal. Quality!

I'd love to have Evo back. Would give some help in midfield that Newman never did. I never remember Evo going AWOL or MIA! :idea:

Didn't Sky or someone bring him back to try and replicate it, and he couldn't?

It shows how the memory plays tricks tho'. I'd always remembered Evo's goal as being straight from the kickoff after halftime; in my memory, we were one down at half time, Evo had said that he's spotted the keeper stood off his line and decided to have a go at the kick off.

Instead, checking back, it seems that they'd just equalised and Evo's 73rd minute goal put us 2-1 in front for 8 minutes. Odd.

My recollection is that when he tried to do it again for the TV and press, it took him about four attempts, but the Evening Standard ran a story on the Friday entitled, "Now do that again." The next day we were at Burnley and he did!

Turned up a tad late walked down the steps to the front and BANG - Incredible goal :sorted:

I think that was the first match with the Brook Road scoreboard ?

Yup, it was on Sky.... It was surprisingly easy to convince a pub 200 miles away from the ground to put the match on the big screen just for me, given it was a friday night. :sorted:

Got some funny looks as I leapt up like a nutter when it went in. :D

I had my ex-local put the bees on twice last year in Liverpool :) there were a couple of red & white shirts in there too! Should probably have said hello...

when Xabi Alonso did his a couple of weeks ago, Sky ran a "Vote for the best halfway line goal" thing on Sky Sports News.... was very pleased to see they didn't overlook this one :) Obviously I voted for it but missed the final score :rolleyes:

remember it well, cos i was there but missed it due to giving the Preston fans stick from Hate Corner :D :sad:
