If there was a new manager...

A lot of people seem to want Leroy to go but who have you got in mind to replace him if he does go.

If there was a new manager...

Alex Inglethorpe.

If there was a new manager...

My suggesstion- look at non-league clubs doing well, snap up there manager and throw him in the snake pit that is Brentford

Johnson Hippolyte from non - league.

If there was a new manager...

what about dave penney good record in lower leagues, took doncaster from confrence to 1st div.
Took doncaster to quater finals of cup lost on pens to arsenal.
who is currently unemployed after leaving doncaster in august.

If there was a new manager...

Marcus Gayle/ Dean Holdsworth????

Someone who wants the club to do well, a person who's heart is in the job, so its not just a job!!!

If there was a new manager...

David Beckham....or any of the three named (not including the two in the immediate post above) above, plus Paul Sturrock and Andy Sinton.....that's my short-list of six.......(so far!)

If there was a new manager...

I think I could do a job

If there was a new manager...

Wouldn't go for Sturrock, Wednesday fans said he turned the team into a bunch of passionateless no hopers.

Something that seems to have already been instilled into our squad!!!

Try someone different, "unproven" some one in the Martin Allen mould.

How about Nigel Clough???

If there was a new manager...

Scott Fitzgerald??

wasn't Penney expecting the England U-21 job but then got pushed to one side as the players wanted Taylor to carry on.

i have know idea who could take on the job, but whoever does come i hope they would instill pride. Can't see it though. LR will be here until we enter the conference and he sees out his contract in 2008.

If there was a new manager...

Penney is on darlinton's and millwall's short list so we will probaly miss out unless we move quickly.

So, someone with no coaching/scouting or management experience whatsoever?

If there was a new manager...

Tony Rougier heard hes been doing his licences, could do a great job:sorted:

la la la ROUGIERRRRRR la la la ROUGIERRRRRR:fishing:

Gayle was part of the coaching set up last season,

Just suggestions, you seemed tohave missed the suggestion of clough

LOL

If there was a new manager...

The only bit of Howard Wilkinson which should ever be seen again, is his head which should be impaled on a stake next to the grave of English Football!!! :nono:

Now lets be fair, his record with Sunderland was far superior to big Mick, and he wasnt ever really given a chance to stamp his no-nonsense approach to the england set up. Howard in!

If there was a new manager...

Oh Christ - don't get me started on this one !!

If there was a new manager...

I don't think anyone would be able to do anything with the shower of sh*te currently playing for us

If there was a new manager...

Just get Terry Evans on the coaching staff.

The threat of him waiting in the changing rooms to bang some heads together if players didn't perform should be enough for spolit f**kers like Pinault and Skulason to get their act together.

Hurlock could be his assistant. Don't think we'd see any have measures from the players then.
Isn't the present situation just crying out for an MA type figure? It might not be pretty but it would be effective.

If there was a new manager...

If there was a new manager...

Not sure there's much point in this we cant afford to pay him off. What I fail to understand is that in those first 7 games, there was pride and passion and a desire to never give up???? Whats changed that??

That's my real concern.

As for a possible replacement.......

Scott Fitz snr?
Alex Inglethorpe?

Oh i dunno just someone who cares enough.
:( :(

If there was a new manager...

The words knee and jerk spring to mind....

They do why?

9 games or however many it is with barely a point, passionless, toothless couldnt give a feck performances and we are supposed to put up with it?

..............oh dear, Nat has really got the bit between her teeth now!
......could be interesting debates at the next BU meetings......I might even be able to hear them in Wisbech.................

If there was a new manager...

If bad results continue I expect LR to bee gone by Christmas..if not before...Terry Evans might bee a good choice..scare the s**** out of some of the players...has the Bees at heart as well...however not sure about his coaching badge level...if any...YOU REDS....:sorted:

If there was a new manager...

Paul Ince, Leroy will be given to Christmas at least, by which time he'll (Ince) be proven and will hopefully keep us up

........for goodness sake, even Lee Evans would be a better choice than what we have at the moment........

his home is up in the north west, why do think he moved back up there from swindon. he's finding his feet at macclesfield to test his managerial skills, if it doesn't work out he's more than likely got enough money stashed away to see out his and the childrens lives. i doubt if he'd come back south for us.....

If there was a new manager...

My choices would be (in no particular order) Dave Penney, Nigel Clough, Paul Hart, Gary Hill or Jim Smith.

If there was a new manager...

Wasnt he the manager that wouldnt sell Jason Roberts "To a club like Brentford". Perhaps he wouldnt fancy coming here

An extra £50,000 out of the £1m we had just received from selling Asaba and Ashby would have done it. Or rather £1m less the 20% he creamed off the top. Bastard.

If there was a new manager...

I dont understand the people who want Cockerill, he was assistant when we got relegated so presumably had some input into things at that time and we were useless. He also is doing what id consider an average job at Woking not bad but nothing like what they were doing under Chapple.

I would be quite happy to get rid of Leroy, give Fitzgerald a shot in a caretaker role. If he was a success great give him the job, if not take a bit of time finding the right man. I cannot see Fitzgerald doing a worse job than Leroy is, in fact i think he would get us battling.

Good call,

Think we need to think about the man we want, take time in choosing and not make a decision purely based on timescales.

Its time for the BFC board to stand up and be counted!!
Make a decision that is BEST for Brentford Football Club.

If there was a new manager...

Glenn Cockerill
Dave Penney
Can't agree with Cockerill, he's not rated at Woking and certainly hasn't achieved anything of any note with them!

Apparently they do have a young Asian keeper who is attracting the interest of premiership sides that we might be wise to have a look at.

Penney I'd be happy to see as obviously enjoyed good times @ Donny until this year and was being considered for U21 national post. However why would he want to come here unless he saw himnself as some sort of Messiah mark 2. Let's face it, no money to spend, dross that can't be offloaded and dwindling gates, surely he could expect to get a job nearer home with netter prospects?
