Neil Shipperley

Just been paid off by Sheffield United. Now if we could just get another couple of pieces of dead wood off the books and squeeze out an extra few bob from somewhere....... anywhere!

In the same way that the sale of Campbell probably cost us the goals needed in the last few months of last season (not that I'm saying the Bees were wrong to cash in when they did), how much would Shipperley's goals be worth this time around?

you'll get R.O.B leaping with joy with this news..............!!!!

ROB reckons Shipperley would add 1000 onto our gates which would be worth the £3-£5k weekly wage...........................

Has anyone told Fitz?

Seriously though, if he's free and cheap then we'll get him fit, then he'll p!ss off to another club............... sort of forward we need mind you...........

:suspect: are you ROB in disguise :suspect:

1000

Neil Shipperley

erm, I meant God I hope I'm not ROB in disguise!

Shipperley would indeed be a good aquisition.

(hmmm, maybe I'm Shippers in disguise touting for a deal....)

Neil Shipperley

Would be a good addition to the squad.

agree, but how fit is he and what are the costs involved.............if Shipps got a wedge to leave Sheff.Utd. then a 'deal' might be forthcoming, especially as Fitz jnr has gone. That must free up say 2 months of Fitz's wages (probably about £2 3s 6d !!)

Neil Shipperley

Oh that's funny as my cousin said he could have sworn he saw Scott Fitz by the Earl of Arundel pub last week...................;) and he said he thought Shipperley would go but to another club only AFTER the January window closes............. :suspect:

Neil Shipperley

Took me by surprise by doing a job in the Championship last season so surely well up to our standard.

Neil Shipperley

No, sorry Bungey. It just means he can still join a club after the window closes as he won't be contracted to anyone. He can sign a contract with anyone as of right now.

Neil Shipperley

Sheff Utd website says Shipperley (unattached) can only join a club after the window closes...we'll probably be effectively down by then so why waste the money?

there's only 2 games till the window closes, so if the Bees can get 3 points from one of the games we're still within a shout of getting out of this mess, if Shipps is available and is willing to fight, then he would be a good addition.

I'd have thought though that some other club in the Championship or League 1 will come in with a better deal.....................

Neil Shipperley

Hmm, I wonder what wages Shipperly was on at Sheff Utd? He's a proven Championship goalscorer so I'd imagine someone at that level will want to give him a go.. Be extremely surprised if he came down to the bottom of League One.. How old is he anyway? Must be getting on a bit?

32.......look at the link above...................wages?...................

Neil Shipperley

and now Fitz jr has gone..... :fishing:

as said above, if Oli/Fitz jnr have gone or wages being paid by someone else then a bit of wheeling and dealing could be possible................

Neil Shipperley

Saw him running on Ham Riverside Lands Towpath on Saturday morning, with his boxer dog George.

George looked fitter.

If I'd known he was available, I would have stopped him for a chat and to see if he was interested in talking to SF.

" amid speculation he's about to sign for League One side Brentford""

Jimbee,
that is pure quality mate and I thank you! I am still mopping up the p*ss from where I wet myself lol.
The first pint is on me next time you are in the PR just for the humour although I would have added

"....about to sign for League One Brentford who are hoping he can put an extra 1000 on their gates by improving the team and therefore the teams results!"

Onwards and upwards! whoever he signs for!! rofl

Neil Shipperley

I don't know if this is true or not but I reckon that as long as we don't go silly on wages and length of contract, this one's a winner.

Neil Shipperley

I can't see us being a dream move for the lad...

Neil Shipperley

Would be a cracking signing, but I have my doubts as to whether it's true. I'm off to look at the Sheffield United boards to see if there is actually such speculation!

EDIT: can't find anything

I thought it maybe the nudge he needs to sign on the dotted line. ;)

Neil Shipperley

I don't see how we can fail with this one to be honest as long as we don't bust the bank to get him in.

Monthly contract, contract till end of season?......he gets fit and puts himself in the shop window, while living close by...............we get a striker that is well above our level :sorted:

Neil Shipperley

Sign him up

We should sign him get rid of Pillock (I mean Willock). Shipperley and Kuffour up front just what we need.

If he signs then surely it could be  to Owusu

I'm not in favour of getting rid of Lloydie but I'm pretty sure that he has a fair amount left to run on the contract he signed when he joined us for the second time. We wouldn't be in this much of a mess if we had someone of Owusu's calibre playing up front for us this season. With his tireless work and Kuffour's goals from playing off him we'd be fine.

Except that he is nowhere near fit. His contract runs out end of this season and Imho we have probably seen the last of Owusu in a Bees shirt.

Neil Shipperley

Lloyd's contract expires at the end of the season. Thank **** lol

Neil Shipperley

I really can't see the point of signing anyone.

We're down. We were more or less relegated when we lost 1-4 at home to the second worst team in the division.

Save the money for next season.

Neil Shipperley

I personally think he is a carthorse, I may of course be proved wrong ,as if Fitz says he is good enough then he probably is, I await the outcome

18 games to go, 6 pts from safety.
how can anyone say we are down? We might go down but I doubt it.
The way we are playing recently gives me alot of hope that we will pull ourselves out of this mess.
Scott is sorting the mess out and with a hoped for striker etc. upwards we go.
Don't give up yet, 54 pts to play for.
I believe!

Shipperley had a giant gut when he took his shirt off after the play off win with Crystal Palace 3 years or so ago. Not just a bit porky but a real hang over the shorts flabby gut, I was amazed a pro footy player was allowed to be in such bad shape. Can't see how a year or two out injured or not playing could have helped him lose weight or get fit..we don't need another clyde.

As for Fitz jun, there is a chance we had to make a deal to get rid of him so maybe we don't have loads of spare money in the pot?

Fitz and Reeves were in the Sutton Arms on Saturday night.
Not much help but thought I'd add it anyway!:D

surely we have to ask Griffin what he thinks of Shipperly first? :fishing:

Shudda, wudda, cudda.

Lloyd leaves BFC this summer.

The man lives in Hillingdon, why not Brentford? If he puts his name on rescuing his home town club from relegation that would put him back into favour on the transfer market. Sounds like a good move for the next couple of months to me.

He went to school in Hillingdon I'm not sure he still lives there. :fishing:
He did once play for Brook House though. :sorted:

Bit premature for that old chap. A couple of wins would change the situation drastically. Don't see what prophesies of doom are going to contribute. More than a third of the season left to play. Anything might happen. Keep your chin up.
