BFC appeal against Jo Kuffour red card - FAILED

According to Sky Sports News...

BFC appeal against Jo Kuffour red card - FAILED

More importantly is Adebayor going to get his rescinded, and if so can I find out before noon tomorow as I may need to transfer Yakubu in :computer:

Fitz obviously reckons he will get off then.

Could be more hopeful than realistic that the scorer of 38% of our goals this season is available for the next 3 games.

Worth a punt I suppose.

Does it mean he's available for Saturday then whatever?

Hopefully they'll realise that he never moved his eyes off the ball, and have the common sense to rescind it.

Don't think they will though.

Even if it's only a 5% chance it's surely got to be worth a shot, given his value to the side and the fact that it's three games.

let's hope he wins the appeal

How much does an Appeal cost? Probably worth giving it a go anyway seeing what's at stake...

On another thread guestimates varied from £150 to £15,000!

So take your bet on the real cost being around £250!!

BFC appeal against Jo Kuffour red card - FAILED

I reckon it will get overturned...

Pretty sure that its £500........its got to be worth it !

Hopefully they will spend most of their time on Arse and Chelsea and let little Brentford off.

Yeah, i'd imagine that'll be the case

Blimey am suprised, he definately lead with his elbow(without intent of course). Was all for the Masters appeal early season and quite rightly, but am not very hopeful on this one( however the lino who flagged could not have seen the incident as both players had their backs to him and it was only player and crowd pressure that got him sent off....)

Has anyone complained to the FA yet about this abysmal referee??:nono:

Masters's appeal and JK's are very different. Masters's was against a one match ban JK's could be a three match ban. Besides if Arse and Chels (and Robbie Keane for that matter) have the audacity to claim innocence then why not give it a go. Having seen it on Bees W could be a difficult one. Will the FA see it as unintentional and down grade to a yellow or will they take into account the other six bookings we had and see it as part of the game's pattern. What they should do is tell Mr. Deadman to feck off to some village green in cambridge for the next month and ref some games there.

am surprised at this one, hope the FA dont increase his ban for wasting there time.

It says on the FA site that Jo was dismissed for 'serious foul play' as opposed to 'violent conduct', so what's the difference as both carry a 3 match ban?

I've got a sinking feeling about this one. From the FIFA website.

Serious foul play
A player is guilty of serious foul play if he uses excessive force or brutality against an opponent when challenging for the ball when it
is in play.

Any player who lunges at an opponent when challenging for the ball from the front, from the side or from behind using one or both legs with excessive force and endangering the safety of an opponent is guilty of serious foul play.

Violent conduct
Violent conduct can occur on or off the pitch, regardless of whether the ball is in play or not. A player is guilty of violent conduct if excessive force or brutality is used against an opponent, without either of them challenging for the ball.

He won't get off, the replay looks pretty bad although I'm sure no intent was meant. How can you prove that though?

A waste of money but I guess given the situation the gamble is worth it.

BFC appeal against Jo Kuffour red card - FAILED

Worth a try, but not a hope in hell of being successful.

As this isn't on the OS, isn't it just idle speculation? ;)

But hey, we've got at least £500 for a second hand pool table.:sorted:

Intent is nothing to do with it.

Intent is only mentioned in regard to deliberate handball.

Ref, who was right in front of the incident, initially booked Kuffour.
Linesman, whose didn't have as good a view and was much further away, turned it into a red card.
Fairly strong grounds for appeal I'd say, especially given his previous record, sight-line and physiology needed in going up for a header.
So given the FA's usual grasp on reality, it will be kicked out.

In that case he has no chance what so ever as his hand clearly smacked the guy in the gob.

If that's the case then the bloke who kicked Terry in the face should have been off...there has to be room for accidental clashes.

IMO not got more than a 5% chance of success. It looked a lot worse on the TV than it did at the time.

Cost for League One clubs is £500 for the appeal and £2,500 for the fact that 6 or more players were cautioned or sent-off!!!!
That **** Deadman has cost the club three grand!!!!!

Arsenal have had six booked twice this season and sixth caution was Lehman's fannying around against Wigan. I don't think the Arsenal FD must have been too happy when a fax asking for £50k was waived under his nose! :D

That's true Mark, but even when it's the second time for Premiership teams, the fine is still less than a weeks wages for one player at Arsenal for example!!!
The League One fine is higher than a weeks wages for the highest earning player for the first instance of the fine for BFC!!!!!!
How is that fair.....

Based on previous appeals for similar "offences", Jo has no chance!

FA money machine rolls on!:nono:
(Gotta pay for those exploratory trips to Grand Cayman after all)!!!

If you have time to read them all!

You try to get any funding out of the FA for your local club!
Almost impossible!:nono:

Wish somebody could explain how coaching our brand of football, amongst other things, is of any benefit to English football?:fishing:

Meanwhile our national team infrastructure continues to baffle!

Anyway, Jo and BFC, thanks for your appeal money.
(With love from FA's of Brazil, Afghanistan, Peru, Grand Cayman etc etc)

No suprise there, don't know why they bothered, leading with an elbow
( intent or not ) is wrong, step up Charlie, now is your time :) :sorted:

Not a surprise, but still bad news

Don't Birmingham have a striker or 2 they could lend us (any of DJ, Vine, Bendtner, Jerome, McSheffrey or - if fit - Forssell would do)

We have a natural replacement in Charlie Ide. It's a centre-back we need to play alongside Richards!

Personally, I think that Jo will return a better contributor in 3 weeks, assuming that the coaching staff can focus on a bounce-back plan leading to the 24 March.
