Brentford v Cheltenham Town Match Reports

Spleen venting here please.

Brentford v Cheltenham Town Match Reports

This has been the biggest disappointment with this team .. the home performances have just got worse and worse recently .. just when you thought the team would give it all in these must win games .. we go out and play like bunch of ***** :mad1:

Obviously I have fallen foul of the thought police by starting a thread at
https://griffinpark.org/forums/showthread.php?t=51790

Naughty me to start a thread about the gutless uncommitted bunch who had the gall to pull on Brentford shirts today and the fool who picked them.

It wasn't a Cheltenham Town match report and it's not like we just stated playing badly.

Brentford v Cheltenham Town Match Reports

It sickens me how they always seem to feel sorrow for themselves week in, week out rather than rolling up their sleeves and getting on with it. Biggest culprit is KOC who is supposed to inspire, but does the opposite.

At least they are in sympathy with the fans on that one - they don't want to be out there and we don't want them to be either.

Tell you what Nigel, I'm in a bad mood too so why don't you **** off with your sarcastic comments?

I had 2 x choices today. Spend £20.00 petrol on the 200 mile round trip to see if the gutless performances over the last few weeks would improve today or take the kids to Moores Valley Country Park in the New Forest. I decided on a day with the kids & looks like from what I read on here I made the right choice !!!

Fit To Wear The Shirt?

Spleen to be vented...
Why play Nelson when Abbey is considerably more reliable and appears to have the players' confidence when he is in goal ?
Why play Tillen at all ?
Why play Leary who seems to think that the ball will come to him if he stands around long enough ?
Why have O'Connor and Frampton been a shadow of themselves this season ?
Why have we not played Pinault more ?
Why did we let Owusu play in a nothing game in Germany when he had no chance of representing his country in the World Cup ?
Why do we have no passion and little game plan apart from passing across the pitch and telegraphing each move?
Why do I turn up to see this aimless, pointless (literally) excuse of a team?:sad:

Spleen to be vented...

Saving money. That is the only reason.

That was a totally inadequate, unprofessional, uninspiring, insultingly bad performance from a manager and squad who clearly have lost the will to live and are intent on inflicting it on the rest of us.

I felt embarrassed for the first fifteen minutes. What the hell was Tillen doing on the pitch at all? He looked like a frightened little boy. Best substitution Fitz has made this season was to take him off and put on Haywood. Not a Haywood fan but he immediately pulled together the defence and cut out their no. 17 for the rest of the game. He also provided cover for Nelson which is more than that utter shower did for the first quarter of an hour.

Fitz must go. This is a poor squad of players but it compounds the problem by having a rookie manager in post as well.

5,000 season tickets? That idea doesn't make me angry now it just makes me laugh, it's so ridiculous. Even if we forced away fans to buy one, we still wouldn't have made the target today.

Shabby performance all round, BFC. You don't deserve us as fans, you really don't.

Oh, well, back to the Bob Dylan....

Brentford v Cheltenham Town Match Reports

Really poor today. Keep Ide. Try and keep Kuffour and/or Lloyd. Maybe look at Abbey and Richards if they will come.

The rest can go, including the manager, gutless, witless, heartless, skill-less and "various other good attributes"-less.

Brentford v Cheltenham Town Match Reports

The future looks bleak. The only chance is for a group of real fans to take control of this once respected club.

Any takers?

Brentford v Cheltenham Town Match Reports

Nelson, Kuffour, Ide and Owusu (maybe Pinault) get the thumbs up from me :owusu:

The rest can go **** themselves twice, like...

Brentford v Cheltenham Town Match Reports

Well, what difference today, they looked sharp, kept their positions well and looked a bunch to be proud of.....well that's the stewards taken care of!

The rest looked like a pathetic bunch of fools. Yes, thats us, the passionate bees fans who pay their money to keep the dolts who claim to be our management team in comfortable jobs.

As for our professional football players, I didn't see any. Did you?

Brentford v Cheltenham Town Match Reports

Bar Jo Kuffour, Our lot looked like scared, lost little boys.

Personally, that was the worst experience I've had as a supporter.

Today was a chore, I got from the game at all.

Bar Jo Kuffour & Charlie Ide, I'd be more than happy to see the back of the lot of 'em!

Brentford v Cheltenham Town Match Reports

I assume Tillen going off was tactical in which case the manager cocked up.

It should have been Keith though - the slowest winger I've seen who offers no width whatsoever.

Brentford v Cheltenham Town Match Reports

Pinault, Heywood and Kuffour were good, the rest shocking. Ide was a shadow of his usual self, head was down from the start. Frampton was a joke for the first fifteen minutes.

Brentford v Cheltenham Town Match Reports

What a complete & utter shower of sh*te. Probably the worst, most embarrassing day I can remember as a Bees fan.

Not happy, but I can't even be bothered to discuss it.

Brentford v Cheltenham Town Match Reports

Tillen looked bemused when he was taken off.
I am playing well he thought ****

Pinault, Heywood and Kuffour were good, the rest shocking. Ide was a shadow of his usual self, head was down from the start. Frampton was a joke for the first 15 minutes.

I think because Frampton was getting ripped apart and having a real sh*tter, he was shoved to left back at the expense of Tillen, so Heywood came in at CB.

Brentford v Cheltenham Town Match Reports

An embarassment. That's it for me for this season. I cannot bring myself to look at that gutless bunch of tossers again. I'll be back next season and hopefully by then they will all be gone.

Brentford v Cheltenham Town Match Reports

Awful, it should have been a lot more but some of the finishing from Cheltenham Town was absymal. You can see why they are also struggling.

The first goal was piss poor beyond belief. There was no striker near Richards when he headed the ball out and they broke. Nelson was ten to fifteen yards behind, all he had to do was call for it. It sums up just how poor a goalkeeper he is. He cannot even do the basics right, but hopefully he and others will be gone in the summer.

Tillen was shocking as was Frampton particularly at centre-back. Richards was semi decent, had his good and bad moments. O'Connor tried but in all honesty he needs to be surrounded by good players to do well as he's not good enough in a struggling team.

Leary- useless, Pinault tried harder then most  but still not good enough, Ide tried hard but he needs to bulk up and clearly needs to get some more experience. A bit naive at times but thats not to worrying at this point. Keith was absymal.

Owusu- Unfit and at times, dare I say disinterested?

Kuffour- Well he's the star player and if you put him in a good side at this level he would get twenty-plus goals every year.

Heywood- Clogger, fouled a lot but ref was incompetent towards both teams.

Taylor and Brooker- Next.

The side's not good enough and we should get rid of most of them next year if we can.

Brentford v Cheltenham Town Match Reports

I just can't wait for this season to end so we can sort out this club......hopefully :( Some of our players were an utter disgrace today. Bottling out of challenges and failing to pass to team mates yards away. I honestly believe if Wenger Fergie and Mourinho turned at at GP tommorrow, they still wouldn't be able to get anything out of this shower of sh*te. Was embarrassed to be a Brentford fan today :(

Brentford v Cheltenham Town Match Reports

Today was Brooker's (one in every fourteen or fifteen matches) good game. For some unknown reason no one wanted to pass to him despite his previous hitting of the crossbar and actually getting past a defender or two. Instead Kevin would launch it towards Lloyd at the edge of the box who would then get knocked down either for a goal kick or the defender would clear , while Brooker would be standing in open space waving his hands about begging for the ball.

As for Tillen..I predicted he'd get a hat trick of own goals today. Instead he got taken off at the nineteen minute mark..says it all really :(

Brentford v Cheltenham Town Match Reports

It was laughable. I really fear this time next year we will be going to the conference. Bees United is the worst thing for our club since 1967. Supporters cannot run clubs.

Brentford v Cheltenham Town Match Reports

Today's performance summed up a lot of things.

The manager is tactically inept. Did either he or any of his backroom staff look at Cheltenham in advance? Tillen was the wrong player for the position against big forwards, ditto Ide trying to force his way past their LB. Cheltenham Town are a big, physical side who play to their strengths.

The defence again failed to concentrate from the off leading to an early goal conceded and another uphill struggle.

This shower are not good enough to put up ANY kind of fight to avoid relegation.

I hope we lose on Monday and confirm relegation mathematically to end the crap from Fitz about fighting to the end.

I'm working for the next two home games so this is the last time I shall see them this season. My daughter says she's relieved too!

Roll on next season with a new manager and a clear out of every player except Kuffour, Owusu and Ide.

Brentford v Cheltenham Town Match Reports

The manager is a disgrace. He picked Tillen when a moron in a hurry could see from the size of the opposition, never mind the speed, that Heywood would be a better bet. Then he waits until we give the inevitable goal away before he substitutes Tillen. He leaves Pinault on the bench for weeks when JM's distribution is patently below this league's standard, and then we see too late what a real footballer in that position can do. He is pathetic - worse than Leroy - and with the benefit of money that Leroy didn't have. The board have really buggered up this season, one bad decision about the manager after another. Roll on the summer when we can forget how bad this season has been. Today was no worse than any game in the last three months. The standard in the league is the worst I've seen and we have finished well off the pace - enough said.

Brentford v Cheltenham Town Match Reports

I'd like fitz to be a honest now and to realise this job
is beyond him and tender his resignation

Today, the team was an ill-prepared disorganised shambles.
With the exception of Pinault, Kuffour and Owusu
the body language was atrocious and betrayed the fact that regardless
of anything the manager might have said in the run up to the game
they, the team, had given up.

The manager has lost the dressing room.
He is out of his depth

If there was any justice, the players should have their wages docked and
every fan should be reimbursed for having to suffer that garbage

The much maligned Thomas Pinault was for me the best footballer on the pitch
and one of the few in Brentford colours who actually wanted the ball
and tried to be purposeful with it when he got it

The "performance" of the back four in the first fifteen minutes
was the worst I have seen from a professional defence in forty years.
Cheltenham Town were very ordinary but they could justifiably have been four up
in that time.

We need a new start in 2007-8. We need a new manager, somebody experienced,
to help this great club stabilise before it falls any further

If the present circus is allowed to continue, I promise you that
we will be playing conference football in less than eighteen months' time

That was sh*t. I have no affiliation as a fan with most of those players. They dont give a rat's arse and I refuse to waste another £15 of my hard earned money this season on those losers

Hear, hear!

I feel tht the players conned the fans today.

Go now please Fitz

It sums up just how poor a goalkeeper he is. He cannot even do the basics right, but hopefully he and others will be gone in the summer.

The lengths some will go to to blame Nelson are beyond belief. From where I was sitting he was taking their attack on singlehanded for the first goal, while the rest of the defence stood around watching them take free shots.

Is there anyone out there who reckons the second was his fault as well?

Admittedly I'm a bit away from Brook Road, but Nelson looked to have pulled off a stupendous double save for their first goal - it's just a shame that the rabbits in front of him froze and couldn't clear the ball.

Love or hate the person , but he's barely put a foot wrong since he came back into the side.

Brentford v Cheltenham Town Match Reports

I thought Nelson parried the ball back into the danger area for the first goal but mostly I feel for Abbey as he has been our most consistently good performer this season and has just been dumped

Brentford v Cheltenham Town Match Reports

Another negative mark against Fitz for me. I know from being at the Cheltenham Town away game, and watching the League review that Cheltenham Town rely heavily on Odejayi and Spencer. Heywood should have been in from the start, with Frampton at LB. All it did was to make Tillen look like a mug (not that I care), waste a substitution, and show Fitz that he didn't do his homework very well.

As other have said, can't really be bothered to waste my time discussing that inept performance.

Brentford v Cheltenham Town Match Reports

Unbelievable that you can say Nelson was at fault for any of the goals, let alone the first. He didn't parry the ball back into play, he pulled off a great reflex save that he had no time to control where to put it, and then the second part of the double save was again amazing, and by this point I was wondering what the defence had planned to get the ball away... and it seemed as if they were happy to let Nelson try again on the third attempt, and this time, it was third time lucky for Cheltenham Town, though I think Nelson got very close to it.

Just get on with it and vent your spleen on the volunteers that keep this site sane rather than one's ego about having your name as starting a thread.

Especially as one that promised to never post again - you have little sympathy from me attacking the moderators on here.

Brentford v Cheltenham Town Match Reports

Just watched what should be Scott's last game in charge.I am now back home in Cheltenham, a town where he first took charge back in November 2006. We lost that game as well , two-nil, with a very poor gutless display .That was twenty-three league games ago (four wins during this period), nothing has improved he has been a complete failure.
To all the people who feel "sorry for Fitz "can you please tell me how we can justify paying a £60,000 +++ salary with a six month termination clause (£30,000 if sacked with six months remaining on his contract).
This club is just a pile of sh*tE both on and off the field untill the likes of Dyke, Dickens and Fitzgerald go. Our future is Terminal.

Brentford v Cheltenham Town Match Reports

This currant team are a disgrace, when we went down last time under Micky Adams that team at least had a bit of fight in them but today's team...no interest, no passion . They just couldnt give a f**k.
I'm now looking forward to Boston United away...not.

rofl rofl

One way to keep a customer.......................take on the MD's job Mr Inns sir !!!!! rofl

Tell you the truth, I don't give two sh!ts..................................this club is pathetic...........................get someone in there to run it properly. Have four or five board members and a proper MD, not one who's run lipstick and make-up.

Brentford v Cheltenham Town Match Reports

To clear up re Nelson.

I am not blaming him for parrying the ball. However the goal came about because Richards didn't recieve a call from him to let the ball to run through to him. There were no Cheltenham Town players within ten yards of Richards if not more. All he needed was to leave it to Nelson, but he didn't get a call.

That is ****ing basic, he is useless. Abbey would have called for it.

Hopefully he'll be gone in the summer.

Hopeless!!!

Pathetic!!!

But enough about my resolve to see another Bees game this season!!

Need a long summer of no football before I'm bang up for next season!!

Dagenham and Redbridge here we come!!!:( :( :(

Brentford v Cheltenham Town Match Reports

A performance of Leroy proportions.

See you all next season.

Brentford v Cheltenham Town Match Reports

We created history today.

This was the first time ever that the University Boat Race was not the most boring sporting event taking place in the country on the day it happened.

What a crock of sh*t. (the game at Griffin Park that is).

We all know Tillen is sh*t, it is hardly a surprise. He has been sh*t all season. What is a surprise is that Fitzgerald cannot see this and keeps making the same selection mistake week after week.

Brentford v Cheltenham Town Match Reports

A terrible performance all round, it really was shocking to see that today when we had a very small glimmer of hope left.

It's looked almost certain that none of the players believed there was any hope. I think that today alongside the Rotherham United performance a few weeks back should seal Fitz's fate - when the players needed to put in a really strong effort, both times they have completely folded.
