Great news, AS certainly isn't messing about. It wasn't working out for club or player and fair play the board and manager have taken decisive action. Maybe we are starting to run this football club properly at long last.

Wow. I read in the local press that Scott was looking to offload players but this still comes as a shock, albeit a very welcome one. Does leave us a bit short at CB though.

Well yes, he played himself into unpopularity, failed to lead the team, was highly unpopular with the fans so had to go. At least that puts paid to the fear that he'd slot back in again when 80% fit.
Although despite what many people think, he officially only gave one penalty away. Perhaps if he was 2 years younger and 100% fit, but sadly it didn't work out.
Fair play to AS too, seems he's working hard and making difficult decisions.

This is good news. We need to sign another centre half as cover for Osborne and Heywood (maybe Partridge?).

The sudden, and welcome, upsurge in our form seemed to coincide with his injury, and subsequent omission from the team. Maybe a coincidence, but I think not.

But we now have to rely on the broad young shoulders of Karleigh Osborne. Can he live up to those expectations? :rolleyes:

Surprising news but the right decision.

I go with those that give some praise to Mackie.

I have seen nothing on the pitch to suggest he hasn't tried his best, in the face of some abuse it has to be said.

It seems he himself has realised his cannot continue at this level and has had the dignity to help to make the right thing happen and for that he should be respected..

Onwards and upwards.

It does seem that he has 'done the right thing'.

It is the first time I have seen a player thanked for their conduct in negotiations of a termination.

fair play to him, hanging on would have done nobody any good. now he can get on with his life and we can get on with not losing all the time.

totally agree. well done mr. mackie.

how long did it take tillen to **** off?

it never worked out at bfc for jm and i think he should be wished good luck for the future and not face so much abuse.

also, well done andy scott. very positive forward thinking decision making... if we will soon get some decent bodies in!

Indeed. Mackie came across as a decent honest person and I wish him the best of luck in what he does with himself. I can't see him signing for anyone else though.

I can see why they signed Mackie, and am suprised he didn't work out. But for Scott to cull him the way he has is really positive.
I'm impressed with Mackie and Scott for this.
