Quick question.....what happens now if Hamer gets injured. isn't Seb Brown out on loan too?

need another keeper in now, Seb Brown has hardly played a friendly, so i can't really see him as the 2nd choice just yet, plus i also thought he was going out on loan.

Andy Scott will have his own course of action I'm sure but we are a League Two club and what is Seb there for if he cannot play in the first team when required?

if Seb Brown is ready for 1st team action, why hasn't he played more in the friendlies? If AS thought Simon was going, why use him instead of Seb?

Simon had be put in the shop window, and to be fair I think the slightly leaner Simon Brown has done quite well in all the friendlies he's played in.

Here's to him bringing Moses or Marvin down through on goal on 22nd Nov! :sorted:

I imagine that Brown was one of the higher earners when he was brought in, so this is good news all around.

Good news for allconcerned if he's on a (relatively) big wage. However, I can't help feeling it is strange when you don't have your own first team keeper. Sign of the times I suppose.

The fact that we have Hamer on a season long loan, makes no difference to having a player on 1 year contract.

Yeah i know but still feels funny and a sign of the times. How I'd love to go back to the early 1990s - football was much more enjoyable then.

My guess is that there is a recall clause in the loan agreement, should Ben suffer an injury. Simon Brown is not going to be their number 1 keeper, is he?

Seb can be on the bench-if Hamer gets injured then get someone else in on loan/recall simon Brown.

Its quite simple-no point wasting money on a new keeper when it could be MUCH better spent elsewhere!

Stockdale has joined Fulham I think so I'm guessing that he will be

I don't think you can put recall clauses in half or full season deals.

If we lost Hamer on the day of a match Seb Brown would have to play, that's what he's there for.

I'm sure AS has enough friends in enough places that if we lost Hamer with 24 hours notice we could rustle someone up.

Probably suits him as well as he may still have a home somewhere near Edinburgh from his Hibs days which is only 2 to 2 1/2 hours from Darlo compared to the five from London

I'm not 100% sure but I think they made a rule right through the league that a player on loan can't play against their parent club

I think his family home is still located in Scotland so it would seem a good move for him. (didn't he miss the supporters game last season so that he could travel back to Scotland to be present at the birth of his child?)

I hope the move works out for me. Overall, he's looked okay during the pre-season games.

I really think that Darlo are in for a pretty crap season. They released so many and really should have gone up, we know what that can mean. They may have dosh but Dickson showed how hard it is to get players to go up there and on top of that they have Brown in goal and every cross that comes in is a potential goal.

They have no strikers apart from fatty Proudlock as well
