It can only go to one of the back four, I think, and my choice would be Dickson as at least he was getting involved all game.

Strevens deserves a mention as the team did start to look better when Weston went into midfield and he was up front.

Alternatively, the fans deserve it for travelling that distance, putting up with that rubbish, getting soaked and being treated by Gateshead as third class citizens:
1. Seats in the rain
2. Looking at a covered stand which was literally 1/3 full and where we could be house
3. No tannoy for us to be advised what substitutes we were using
4. Not being allowed to stand on the wide open concourse at the back of the seats whilst the match was in progress
5. Being advised that the car park was full when it quite plainly wasn't

...............spoke to one of the stewards reference the seating arrangements............their policy is that if the away following will be 300 or more then the stand that we were in is used ,if under 300 then they use the covered stand. They were obviously expecting more Bees...............

Give it to Cort took his goal well and didn't do too much wrong, Dickson and Foster played alright, but none of the defence looked comfortable.

Also any club that plays at a stadium not serving bovril or pies should be chucked out of the FA Cup.

I half expected this thread not to appear on the grounds that nobody deserved this accolade. There was also the problem for me and anyone else like me, ie sight not 100%, that we were so far from the 'action' (I use the word reservedly) that I probably muddled the players up on occasions. I've gone for Cort.

Cort for me too. I thought he worked very hard, and benefited from the introduction of Strevens who played much closer to him. Linked the play and held the ball up well, won some good defensive headers from Gateshead's numerous set pieces and scored a good goal. :sorted:

cort was the best of a very bad amatuer bunch of footballers that was on display on saturday and lookd the only pro out there.

Man of the Match v Gateshead (Nov 7)

Cort was best of a poor bunch on an excellent playing surface in a deserted misserable stadium.

I shall pick Bean as at times he appeared to be the only player trying to up the tempo of our game.
I must have been watching a different Cort, the one I saw must have lost at least 80% of his arial challenges, sometimes not getting his feet off the ground.

He may not have won as many headers as you'd usually expect him to but in fairness, he'll be unlikely to play against many CB's much taller than the giant CB he was up against on Saturday  The rest of his game was excellent IMO, despite not having a partner of any note until the introduction of Strevens.

Definitely Mick Cox. Anyone who can drink 16 pints of lager, a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc, 8 G&T's and 5 pints of John Smiths and still take his long suffering wife to Westfield shopping centre early the following day truly deserves the award. Well played that man :sorted:

I voted for Strevens, who made a real impact when he came on. Our attack only sprung into life after his introduction.

Man of the Match v Gateshead (Nov 7)

It's all Carl Cort.

Man of the Match v Gateshead (Nov 7)

James Wilson - looked solid in defense the whole game

Man of the Match v Gateshead (Nov 7)

Sorry i've been a **** and voted thinking it was tonights game.

Man of the Match v Gateshead (Nov 7)
