Can understand reasoning but makes it unlikely we will get many walk up punters. CAFC don't have many to worry about interested in attending anyway. Normal mode of transport bring arranged as befits a South London club. A days jolly is how they are treating it.

The 'ticket prefered' game against Charlton 2 seasons ago (the 1-1 draw) I just showed up on the day and got in ok. It just means it's wise to get a ticket in advance to ensure that you get into the game ok, rather than you need one.

I'll pick mine up at some point in the next couple of days then.

I was sitting next to a family of Charlton fans in New road that day...:suspect:

Should be the biggest attendance we get this season given that it is:

A) a London derby
B) there top of the League
C)Were doing alright ourselves
D)We have a good record against them
E)Not many were at the Stevenage, Chesterfield games and i doubt many will be at the Muff or Basingstoke games so people will (hopefully) need their football fix.

Come on Bees make an effort, order a ticket, and watch the Bees secure another great victory over Charlton. "85 years were having a laugh!"

The Official site article states the club will only sell to those on the BFC database . This is to avoid Charlton fans in the home areas.
Probably the right decision.

From what I make of the statement the are only selling advance tickets to Bees fans on the club’s database etc and that pay on the turnstile is available but you will be slung out and castrated if you are a Charlton fan in the wrong part of the ground.

Dont get it.Sadly its obvious we wont have more than 6000,wont surprise me if less, Bees in attendance so why make it more of a chore for those without season tickets to have to buy some,limited amount aswell/And any casual fan wont bother

In fairness we have 2 weeks to make a 3/4 minute phone call to the club. If it was pay on the day you would be likely to queue for that amount of time anyway so its not really a problem is it.

but it really is to alot of people,especially when it just isnt needed.Our gates are poor,we dont need a ticket preferred game,we struggle enough to get more numbers to our games as it is.Those that dotn want to get tickets will just think sod it,home performances alreadt this season wont help,look how the gate has gone down already.I know too many Bees fans that will say **** that,cant be bothered.........And how often have we read on here peoples dismay at ringing the Club to get tickets or anything with regards to rigning the Club

BUT i know you can pay on the gate before im told again :sorted:

Our fans need an attitude/culture change coz the reality is buying tickets in advance is something that would happen regularly if we make to the promised land of the Championship (christ knows what our supporters would do if we got to the Prem, perhaps its best we dont so they can remain lazy)

PS ringing the club these days is very good. An efficient service.

Ticket preferred is a nonsense as you can turn up without one. There's absolutely no danger of the ground being sold out and not being able to get in so what's the point? It will however deter walk ins who may think there's an issue. I suspect we won't get more than 6,600.

Exactly. Before the usual suspects (although I see some have had their two penneth already) start to bitch and whine, just take a second to read Nana's post and realise it's not actually that daft a decision after all.

I was going to fly back for this but can't be arsed now, none of my mates here are going either ITS A SLAP IN THE FACE BRENTFORD A SLAP INTHE FACE

I can see the logic in this decision which is actually for the benefit of suopporters, in the normal course of events supporters roll up just before the KO and wander into the ground.

Imagine the complaints if come the Charlton game supporters miss 20 minutes of the game due to the length of the que.

Seems to me that in recent weeks people have been very quick to start moaning about the club and any decision it makes, not going to comment re FA cup game although I do think the decision to change the kick off was done with the best of intentions, but for the Charlton game I dont see that anyone has a case to moan about, get tickets early and no que, dont buy in advance? then get their early. If you follow normal procedures then expect to miss the start and I respectfully suggest dont moan about it afterwards.

Well said o wise one, it's not exactly rocket science, it's plain to see the club don't want to see queues of people waiting to get in the ground and missing the first 15-20 mins, they have given the supporters every chance not to queue but to enter quickly with a pre-paid ticket, for those that don't go down the route of purchasing a ticket in advance please don't moan about the length of time it took you to get in the ground.

You are almost correct, however, the referee can delay the kick off if their is a large crowd outside the ground at either the clubs request or police request. In reality, the game is ticket preferred to stop excess away supporters in the home end.
