When I was a student it was always drummed into us that you form an hypothesis first, then test it against data. It is impossible to analyse data in any other way. Of course, that was in the 70s so much has changed since then.
It will make a change to face a side that plays football and doesn't rely on physicality. This poses a whole new set of problems for us though but I think we can cope although our forward play may be blunted. 0-0 I reckon.
After conceding about 15 goals all season Swansea let in 7 in two games. What a mad league this is. Also glad to see Cardiff's run ended late on at Boro.
There are games when we need the abilities of Marcondes and Jensen to unpick a defence, when we are playing Stoke for example. Trouble is, we also need to be hugely competitive in midfield against sides like this. Tricky decisions for TF, glad I'm not a coach.
Every time one of our players is fouled they stay down, not in the Ayew way but sufficient to bring on medical people. This is particularly important when Raya is touched. The referee should be surrounded with angry players and the protests get more intense each time. The perpetrators of each...
Not sure why he lost his place, I always thought he was a good player. Looking him up I see he went on to have a career playing in Iceland and is coaching there now.
In the crowd scene of former Bees who have gone on to play in the Premier League in recent seasons I would never have rated Konza...
Any team facing Swansea should know what to expect and plan accordingly. Their style of football is hardly a secret now. We were guilty of fhis at their place and could've been stronger in key moments although we dominated the game. Their game against Cardiff should be interesting as McCarthy is...
Wednesday were poor but before last night they hadn't conceded many more than us and they started the game brightly enough. I was impressed with how we played as a unit and got stronger as the game went on, qualities we will need against Stoke.
My technical knowledge of football tactics was largely formed by reading "Legge's Eleven" in the "Valiant" every week. Surprised we haven't tried the five-man pyramid yet.
I think it will take a few more games before we return to anything like decent form. Never mind the players who are clearly out of form we have probably our four most influential players missing at the moment. We need to grind this out and the games after Sheff Wed are not ideal for this. A...
