    Squad Utilisation by Team

When I was a student it was always drummed into us that you form an hypothesis first, then test it against data. It is impossible to analyse data in any other way. Of course, that was in the 70s so much has changed since then.

    Norwich v Bees predictions....

It will make a change to face a side that plays football and doesn't rely on physicality. This poses a whole new set of problems for us though but I think we can cope although our forward play may be blunted. 0-0 I reckon.

Final Score Bees 2 - 1 Stoke (Janelt, Toney)

They had Nigel Pearson in the stand watching. Wouldn't have wanted to face him afterwards.

Final Score Bees 2 - 1 Stoke (Janelt, Toney)

After conceding about 15 goals all season Swansea let in 7 in two games. What a mad league this is. Also glad to see Cardiff's run ended late on at Boro.

Norwich v Brentford - Sky tv Wed 3rd March 17:30 ko

I am keeping this thought in my head for the home game with Watford, and for the play offs should they be necessary.

Emiliano Marcondes - Signs to June 2021

There are games when we need the abilities of Marcondes and Jensen to unpick a defence, when we are playing Stoke for example. Trouble is, we also need to be hugely competitive in midfield against sides like this. Tricky decisions for TF, glad I'm not a coach.

    Bees v Stoke predictions....

Score first and we win. If they score first it could be a long afternoon so I'm opting for 1-0 (Ghoddos).

    Championship Round 32 (Tue/Wed 23-24 Feb)

Every time one of our players is fouled they stay down, not in the Ayew way but sufficient to bring on medical people. This is particularly important when Raya is touched. The referee should be surrounded with angry players and the protests get more intense each time. The perpetrators of each...

Our Free Kicks in the Opponents Half

Probably Janelt? I always like to have at least one option of a player who has a kick like a mule, a bit like Martin Grainger or Jim McNichol.

    Ezri Konsa

Not sure why he lost his place, I always thought he was a good player. Looking him up I see he went on to have a career playing in Iceland and is coaching there now. In the crowd scene of former Bees who have gone on to play in the Premier League in recent seasons I would never have rated Konza...

    Championship Round 32 (Tue/Wed 23-24 Feb)

Any team facing Swansea should know what to expect and plan accordingly. Their style of football is hardly a secret now. We were guilty of fhis at their place and could've been stronger in key moments although we dominated the game. Their game against Cardiff should be interesting as McCarthy is...

Final Score Bees 3 - 0 Sheffield Wednesday (Mbeumo, Ghoddos, MBS)

Wednesday were poor but before last night they hadn't conceded many more than us and they started the game brightly enough. I was impressed with how we played as a unit and got stronger as the game went on, qualities we will need against Stoke.

    Team vs Sheffield Wednesday

My technical knowledge of football tactics was largely formed by reading "Legge's Eleven" in the "Valiant" every week. Surprised we haven't tried the five-man pyramid yet.

I’ve worked out how this season will pan out....good and bad

I think it will take a few more games before we return to anything like decent form. Never mind the players who are clearly out of form we have probably our four most influential players missing at the moment. We need to grind this out and the games after Sheff Wed are not ideal for this. A...

    RIP Fife Bee

    Sorry for your loss. RIP.

    Perspective

I suspect that the club have ambitions along those lines which is a realistic aim and wouldn't involve dispensing with our current model of squad acquisition.

    Perspective

Like a few other posters on here I used to look up, from the 4th division, with great envy at the likes of established second level sides like Portsmouth, Cardiff, Charlton etc. and never really thought we would be where we are now. As to advancing any further, I suspect I would enjoy a season...

Rico Henry - Signs to June 2023

Has there been any news? It looked more than a pull to me, he went down like he had been hit by a sniper so not optimistic.

Mads Bech Sørensen - Signs to June 2023 (+1 yr option)

I think that the performances of MBS, along with those of Janelt, have been one of the great positives this season. Toney is taken as read and he cost a decent fee so we would have expected a lot from him. I rated MBS behind Racic in terms of development before, but he has never let us down even...

    Score Centre 2020 / 2021

Usually I can find a reason to support one or other side in a derby, or any game, but have no time for either side although the Brighton sides of around 1976-8 played some excellent football and I saw them at the Goldstone a few times. The rivalry with Palace is laughable and goes back to the...
