Play-Off Final Tickets - SOLD OUT

I don’t crave those days again tbh. Not exactly certain how the taps are calculated, but I’m fortunate to have accumulated enough, as is my 18yo son. A lot of FA Cup and League cup games over the years, some away games in a different era to that we now play in have added up I suppose. There will...

    Chris Mepham

His expression said it all as he left the pitch....moment of madness (and that is exactly what it was) seriously jeopardised his teammates’ aspirations of Premier League wages and status. Judging from the AFC Bournemouth forum, a good deal of their fans will lack the fortitude or compassion to...

4001 - I’m not ducking out next weekend

Brentford v Bournemouth FT: 3-1 (Toney(p) Janelt, Forss) agg 3-2

Absolutely delighted - well done Bees. A few words for the losers (sore losers at that, judging from many on their forum). You were beaten by the better team; not the referee, a dodgy penalty decision, or Ivan Toney not being sent off, or Thomas Frank calling out your time wasting from the...

    The fans role on Saturday

I called this one wrong. I feared failure to win, socially distanced, behind a face mask, on my tod, was going to be too much to cope with after all the stress of the last 14 months; so I let my ticket go into the ballot. Having read this thread, I can now see that is not on the cards...

    League Two 2020/21

I understand that at Craven Cottage they think there could be some merit in Southend and Grimsby’s thought process :fishing:

    National League

Torquay seem to be putting a strong run together at a crucial time, but so too are Stockport, who they still have to play, giving Sutton and Hartlepool genuine hope, who also have to play each other. Going to be interesting watching this division play out from the sidelines. Thank god Andy Scott...

Are The Days of Chants Deemed to be Abusive or Hurtful Numbered?

I suspect that this is exactly what the owners of ‘the big 6’ would have liked at their clubs, had their European super league come off.

Are The Days of Chants Deemed to be Abusive or Hurtful Numbered?

Very interesting post - thanks. I was actually wondering how the experience differed in the 50’s and 60’s (thanks JLove for your post on the 60’s), having only started attending games as a young teenager in 1977 myself. My guess is the worst time for crowd misbehaviour would have been around the...

Are The Days of Chants Deemed to be Abusive or Hurtful Numbered?

I’m going to avoid going off-topic, but deduce from your reply that I can expect chants of ‘You fat B4stard’, aimed at opposition players, fans or officials are likely to become a thing of the past. Thank you for your contribution.

    Charlie Macdonald

I might add that when at Brentford, when he was not selected through injury, he was sat in the stands watching, sometimes with his family, not because he had to be there, (he wasn’t with Andy Scott and the management team), but presumably because he wanted to be there. I just remember at the...

    National League

Good luck to them; quite nice for you to wander up there when Bees aren’t playing, and maybe there is some level of excitement in the town at the possibility of League 2 football? I was always a bit surprised that a mate who lived in Stevenage with a young lad that loved football had no interest...

    National League

And they are also on a good run, and still in the equation - its a really tight division this year. Would be good for them also to return back to League 2, and feel that money invested in them rather than Salford City would have benefited the community in that region more - not that is any of my...

    Charlie Macdonald

I have to say Charlie’s commentary and input on i follow is excellent; leagues ahead of anything I hear on Sky sports. For example, his explanation yesterday on Marcus Forss‘s body position, (leaning back, looking up at the goal rather than the ball, snatching at it) when he put it over the bar...

Torquay don’t have to play Hartlepool - Sutton do.

Rather you than me - that is a conversation requiring the upmost tact and diplomacy, that could still have gone very wrong.

Are The Days of Chants Deemed to be Abusive or Hurtful Numbered?

It wasn’t why I started it, but ‘where’s your caravan’ might hurt the feelings of a valuable sector of the community such as travellers for example, and is probably discriminatory I suspect.

Are The Days of Chants Deemed to be Abusive or Hurtful Numbered?

For clarity, I don’t LIKE every negative chant I hear. I do think it would be a shame if we got to the point where it was unacceptable for example to wave a pair of glasses at a referee, because it might cause offence to him or others that have to wear glasses. Sadly, your explanation of the...
