Following the completion of the play offs the Championship has gone even more "northern" next season. According to my calculation there are 10 out 24 clubs that are Yorkshire or further, 7 Midlands (including Naarwich for this purpose), and 7 Southerners. New grounds for me to do are Swansea, West Brom, Stoke, Hull (did Boothferry Pk many years ago), Sheff Wed, Rotherham (done Millmoor a number of times) and Wigan. Will be looking for a fair few of these to be Saturday afternoon games for convenience for this old codger!

I just said the same thing on another thread about how Northern the league looks! Yorkshire was not a happy hunting ground for us last season, need to sort that out!

Only Swansea & WBA would be new grounds for me. Got into trouble on another thread for mentioning Yorkshire, but it strikes me that a plethora of northern 'derbies' could work to our advantage if draws result...

Hope to do Swansea’s new ground, Stoke’s new ground and Hull’s new ground. Did their previous stadiums.

The only new Club ground not been to is Ipswich.... !!

Surprised you’ve not been to Stoke. Went there when played under Coppell, lost 3-2 and it was bloody freezing.

Swansea and WBA are new grounds for me so will hopefully get them away on a Saturday.
Yeah I remember following that game on teletext and cluball lol was only about 11 at the time and the old man must have been working, was gutted not to go.

Also had the chance to go to WBA in the league cup, but missed the coach, again was about 10/11 i think.

Surprised you haven't done Swansea, think I've been there 3/4 times. Play off game, and couple of times in the league.... one was New Year's Day i think, remember getting the coach and the locals weren't friendly to our sheep we bought from the service station or hanging our England flag outside the ground.
Remember it well, when they scored they all came running from the side towards us, quite tightly packed in up the top.

I think I was only 13 when I went to Stoke. Luckily my old man took me, had some great away days that season at Brighton, Bournemouth (Dorchester) and Reading. Really caught the Bees bug that year.

The play off game at Swansea was on a Thursday night I think and couldn’t get it off work at short notice otherwise I would have gone then. I’ve heard the locals are far from friendly!

I did Swansea's new ground twice within the space of a few months in 2006. Was a long drive home on that Friday night after letting in a late free-kick. WBA I did when we lost 4-0 in the league cup under Wally Downes.

Not been to the Britannia or whatever it's called now so that'll be my big one.

Yeah 2 - 0 loss, Karleigh Osborne own goal... also remember we played them in the league cup the next season, another 2-0 defeat.

Last 4 games against them we have lost 2-0.

Yeah it was a Thursday, pretty sure I skipped school that day as the coach left quite early...

No apologies from me for not going that night. I didn't even listen to the game, went to a concert in Cassiobury Park in Watford if I remember correctly and discovered the score when I got home. Martin Allen's team had long since bottled promotion.

Yep I remember that Swansea league game too, I always look back and think that was the night our season really fell apart, we were in such a good position to get automatic promotion but never quite recovered after that night.

I remember Brooker missing a one on one mid way through the half, tried to dink the keeper but fluffed it. Brooker soon got hooked and threw a wobbly in the dug out and then Robinson put that free kick into the top corner near the end and we lost. A few days later I was in hospitality at another game and bumped into Martin Allen, got chatting to him and I could tell he really blamed Brooker for us losing that game.

... whilst most of the players blamed Sam Sodje for giving away possession resulting in that free-kick. That game was the beginning of the end for Sodje.

The Hawthorns is the only new one for my son and me. ISTR Swansea more than twice but I may be mistaken; the old one was rough, though. I got a parking ticket on a verge last time at Stoke, horrible place.

They call it the BET365 now. Been there twice (as the Britannia with the Bees) and a few times with my bro-in-law who's a Stoke ST holder for other games. Very difficult parking for away fans, built in the middle of an industrial/trading estate no pubs around and no decent public transport to it.

went there in 01 when we lost 3-2 in a big top of the table game....we had loads there (around 1500) and was a mental atmosphere (from both sides)....how we lost that game :( great day out though ;)

A few days later he performed his one-man circus show at Gillingham as well. Very dubious.

I think we all did. We were advised to park on the grass verge near the A500 bridge and the bastards ticketed every one. Unfortunately I only live 8 miles from the windy, concrete bowl now, so no problem parking this time I look forward to getting revenge and seeing all those Stokies, that wander around with here with fat bellies hanging out, realise that the mighty Bees are not a pub team from near Southend, and get the revenge we so richly deserve.

That Delilah song, wow it was loud that day. Right up there with the loudest home support I’ve ever heard.

Strange night, that outrageous penalty and wasn’t that the night the ex Fanzine editor fell out with Darren Pratley?
.........all kicked off as the team left the pitch at the final whistle............
