Bryan wasn’t that bad. He sent in that cracking cross that Ollie or Said couldn’t quite get too.

His general decision making has been really poor lately and his touch hasn’t been there either.

I’d put my neck out and start with Halil as CF and Ollie and Said to switch wings.

Ollie is lacking confidence with his finishing at the minute.

I also wouldn’t start Baptiste, last 3 games he has 1) foul throw, 2) dived, 3) lost possession when he should of shot and got Christian booked (even though it wasn’t a free kick)

All my (probably wrong) opinion

If Henry is suspended maybe play Mbeumo at left back with Fosu wide right

I definitely think Mbeumo as LB is an option as we have to set up and play on the front foot. The RW berth could go to any of Fosu Dervishoglu (my choice), Canos or Valencia .

If henry is suspended why not play Canos there, I seem to remember he had an excellent couple of games as a left sided wing back last season....or did I imagine that.

Something has to change. All our players are six out of tens at the moment when we need eights and nines.
Yes but you’re now suggesting playing one of those 6 (if not less) out of tens out of position! Are we really that lacking in confidence in Thompson?

I would bet my house on Mbeumo starting the next game (unless injured). If TF was going to bench him, he would have done it by now. Canos LB if Rico suspended I would say is TF's preferred option.

Of more concern is that our forward line has generally dried up. Only Da Silva provides goals from midfield if Jensen is playing. Although a few more chances were created last night than in previous games, I think there was only one save their keeper had to make. Despite all the injustices of last night, it's not inconceivable we could have lost that by 2 or even 3 goals last night (other penalty shout, plus the earlier 'hit the post' and one yard header straight at Raya). That's the bit that gives me hope for the 2nd leg - we are only 1 goal down & frankly, I'm surprised Swansea didn't throw more at us in the last 15, or make some changes, either to keep their best players fresh, or bring some fresh legs on to run us down a bit.

What did we have? Watkins' back header, another header he should have done better with, Jensen's missed shot and Said's missed shot. Have I missed anything? Looking at it impartially, they had the better chances, even before the sending off.

The eleven TF picked was spot on. Out of the subs, Baptiste disappointed. Tried to batter his way through.

Number of chances were quite even though admittedly the Swansea opportunities were clearer. I would however argue we looked the more accomplished footballing team until the sending off, that was undoubtedly the turning point of the game.

I have no idea about him to be honest but it is a massive game for him to start

How long did he have? How long is he being given at all? Given the below average performance of our midfield in recent games, he must be wondering why he is not starting!

I didn't think Baptiste was that bad in all fairness, couple of poor decisions on the ball. I did think young Roerslev looked a bit lost on the left, which is unsurprising in the circumstances.

in what respect was he fine though....his haircut ? apart from that missing our best chance by a country mile, constantly giving the ball away and never seeming to win a tackle i must be missing something,,,,,,if we have to win a game then its best he starts on the bench
Must be me but i seem to miss what Les sees .

Yes. Roerslev looks a bit experimental to me.

If Bryan plays he just needs to be positive. Pre lockdown he got the ball and the first instinct was to attack the full back...or look to link up with Watkins. He was staying a lot wider too which gave him space. Now his first instinct is to be too narrow, meaning he's got less space and time.

Please do NOT start with Jensen or Mbeumo on weds or we are fkin out..............thanks mate ;)
We could and should have won with them both on the pitch but would agree would start with Fosu and Baptiste in place of them.Jensen missed the best chance of the game although others had good chances his one he had time to do what he liked with it apart from that he was very poor imho

Criticizing probably the man of the match and the man who scored the winning goal, another triumph for VFTB! ;)

Let’s not fight though, I know he will be over the moon :sorted:

Please Voice, more of the same before Wembley. You[re a fkn genius! Not only this, but we give our thanks for the several relegation threads you have started in recent seasons. You are the messiah. You are the Warnock of the progressive football club. You are our messiah, and not in any way a naughty boy.

One thing I have learnt from this forum over the last few years is the guy who started this thread is arguably the worst judge of a player on here.:D

WHERE IS @Voice from the Braemar ?

Probably on the pitch with his mates!
Surprised Thomas didn't mention him by name in his post match interview. I am assuming Voice was one of those on the fans' recorded video message to players that TF talked about that so motivated the team. Thomas probably put it on a loop for Jensen & Mbeumo to listen to on their I-players!
