I don't think McCormack is going to be commanding a starting spot for the whole two year extension, but he certainly has his spot in the team now, and that grit and drive will be a great lesson to other younger players coming through.

Great news :) Can't belive he was playing in League 2 just a few seasons ago

Already one of my all time favourites (Going back to 87). Shrewd signing and exactly the type of player we needed to help get us out of league 1. Don't think he had struggled so far this season as some have suggested. I would however be surprised if he was still a regular starter in two years time but I wouldn't put it past him either.

Know what you mean, but he’s certainly got a place in our side at the moment with his combination of strength, skill and doggedness plus a great attitude. I’d rather he was ours even as an irregular starter than us having to play against him twice a season, that’s for sure. Good news.

Excellent management by Warburton yet again.

He challenged the more experienced players to prove they could cope with the higher level and promised he would reward them if they did.

He has kept his word with Macca.

JD and TC maybe next?

Lots to admire about MW and I have written at length about him elsewhere today as I feel that he is our Renaissance Man

Type of player every side needs one of and every other team hates to play against.
love the geezer and one of if not the most important signing last season as the leader and influencer we missed the year before.

Great news. One of theings that impresses me about Mac is he plays it hard and takes no prisoners but he isn't one of those players who get the red mist and lose their head. It feels he always knows how far he can push a ref.

If he now gets sent off tomorrow I'll take the blame for that!

Bit disappointed that he's using a pen in the pictures rather than a thigh bone and the blood of his victims. ..

Does all that JD does but with menace, love the guy, I was going to slag the ref after the Brim game but saw Mac walking off and talking to him, got worried that he might have mistook my abuse as some towards him so left quickly and quietly.

Thought this was new Brentford? Why are we using a Bic rather than a Schaeffer?

One of our best signings ever and was a huge catalyst in our success last year. Gave us the bite in midfield we had not seen for years and was a revelation when went to right back. It was no co-incidence that our amazing run and clean sheets was due to a defence he was part of. Whilst he may be taking a little more time to adjust to the Championship he is such a versatile player and presence to have in the squad. A natural leader and total winner who expects and warrants high standards from not only fellow players but himself. Fantastic news he has extended his contract.

Couldn't have put it better myself. A leader on and off the field.

Great news - he was excellent last year and provides the team with a source of fight and spirit when the going gets tough. I did have some concerns about how he would fare this season in the Championship but he has been as dependable as he was in League One and made the step up in his stride so far.

Whereas I thought, first half in particular, their main outlet was from the wing where McCormack was constantly beaten

Second half, when Wigan went more direct and many balls were punted high to their left wing, I was surprised how many times McCormack was beaten to a header.

My love for this man grew to an even higher level after his tactical foul which led to his booking today. He knew exactly what could happen if he let him get away and took one for the team. Quickly becoming one of my all time favourite players.

...............yep...........has perfected the running towards his own goal and with the slightest touch from the attacker goes down in a pantomime heap thus winning a free kick..............exceptional.............

"Perfected" is about right; at least once a game, he pulls this one off. I thought it would boil over with McManaman after a lot of physical niggling by McCormack but he got taken off in the end as they went 4-4-2. In that respect, I though Moses did a great job preventing their full back supporting McManaman.

And keeping it real - like it.

'He added: “Teams can be up there at Christmas and then fighting relegation or the other way round. We’re only eight points off the bottom three.”

Injury looked bad. Good luck to the tough guy, let’s hope it’s not as bad as it seemed.

Injury to left ankle or achilles, he was stretchered off in a splint and obviously in a lot of pain.

I believe he waved to the crowd and was talking to JD. He's not dead folks.
