Dont think Watford fans were, ermm, fans of his anyways. This certainly wont help his cause, not that he has to take any grief from them at the moment anyways lol
Being ex Luton meant he would have to try even harder.

Would love to be a fly on the wall when he met Troy Deeney.

lost 3 players for a massive game because of him.
would like to have been a fly on the wall when pearson and deeney found out

Why am I not surprised. Some players just want to continue to play up to the stereotypical image that the public have of them, overpaid and thick.

He never caused us any problems from what I heard and was focused upon building his career and was popular.

Very true. His life seems to have moved on quite a lot since then in terms of both money and fame - I vaguely recall him seeming to be good pals with Yennaris and Odubajo? He was also a young bloke still making his way and that team seemed (with some older heads in it) seemed pretty tight in terms of how they done things.

And he made some dubious decisions before he arrived too particularly in the area of social media

Watford striker Andre Gray has apologised after he was dropped for Sunday's

Premier League defeat by Southampton for breaching lockdown rules.
Gray, Nathaniel Chalobah and Domingos Quina were left out of the squad after Gray reportedly held a birthday party at his home on Friday night.

Gray, 29, said he would "do what it takes to make it right".

"It was not a late-night party like what is being portrayed," he wrote.

Current government lockdown rules allow six people to meet in gardens or parks if social distancing of two metres is observed.

"[It was] only a gathering of friends which turned into a sort of football tournament on my birthday," Gray added.

"I wanted to wait to make a public apology as my first apology needed to be to my team-mates and staff."

Watford were beaten 3-1 in Sunday's fixture.

I know he's been out of favour at Watford for a while. Is he injured as well?

Doesn't even make the squad for the home clash against mighty Luton today. Bit of a comedown from that £18m move a few years ago.

Again one of the players that had his best days while with us.

No, he did do better at Burnley, 25 goals in a season (including 2 for us) then 9 in his first PL season. Plateaued then after big money move to Watford and poor but rich last couple of years.

Everyone’s entitled to make a mistake.
Oh, hold on....

And what is it with these oh so contrite apologies. PR advisors copy pasting Rita Ora’s ‘apology’ over the weekend. More than pathetic.

Watford fans seem to hate him....

Probably ‘hate’ is a strong word but not surprised the Watford fans haven’t taken to him, his goal scoring record at Watford has been poor. Been a complete flop for them.

Pants today. You would think Watford will try to offload Gray in the pre-season. Not sure where he will go next but can see a club like Birmingham or Forest going for him although I am not sure he is even Championship level anymore. May even return to Luton?

Luton might be a good shout for him and them.

must be on £35k plus a week. With his lifestyle he will go where the money will be so you can rule Luton out !

Dont think he'd be welcome back in Luton...

Had no service today in fairness to him. I said to my brother pre-game I suspected they were shop windowing him today. Good luck to him but a lower Championship team is the best he can hope for next season, Watford need to replace him and Deeney with much better to survive in the Prem.

Given his wages and that his contract doesn’t run out until the end of next season, I doubt if any Championship club could afford him - and then there’s the small problem that, as a striker, he’s scored a whopping total of six goals in the last two seasons:LOL:

But we know how it works, QPR take him on a free and pick up 15k of his salary per week, Watford pay the rest of his salary and save 15k times 24 months = 360k which they can use elsewhere,

His movement and first touch with us was horrific but he did get 18 goals so not a bad return, we got a good fee for him and one of the first big deals we did. When he scored 25 for Burnley I thought maybe he had improved but looking yesterday his first touch is still horrible, his movement poor and he still can’t work the channel or hold it up.

I am sure someone in the champ will take him on based on past results but we all know that will be his last swan song at this level.

I seem to recall he took penalties for Burnley which slightly inflated his numbers (Pritchard was taking ours in 14/15)

When with us his limitation in some areas was more than made up for athleticism accentuated by his relatively young age....he no longer has this going for him.

Sad thing is he had bags of potential as I thought he was really decent at us. Could turn defenders easily and on shoulder of defenders did well. His link up play was lacking but he worked hard.

As others have said seemed to have cashed in on being a "footballer" and lost desire. He'll learn pretty quickly his money will run out though and his career will dissapear into nothing. Sad really.

He is married to one of Little Mix so the money won’t run out for a while

I had a feeling Watford paid £18m for him. That would be a big hit to let him go on a free.

It’s easy to do. Reading the recent article about Toney it’s what he did when he moved to Newcastle and thought he’d made it. He was young enough to learn and work when he didn’t become a star. Gray got there at a more advanced stage when he didn’t need to do anything more because he’d already made his name and his money was guaranteed to near retirement.

I thought, despite the odd shortcoming, he was a very good player for us. He helped the very good 3 behind him to be very effective. Not quite sure if he fulfilled his potential or not. Clearly not having the best time of it recently.

Announced that him and Leigh-Anne Pinnock are having baby.

Congratulations and good luck to them both.

I won’t repeat some of the very rude jokes from Watford fans that are on social media...
