Poor commitment from Georgson, but from what I've seen of set pieces this season, not any great loss. I saw the earlier stat of 5th in league for set piece goals, but picking up on an earlier poster's point, given we have the ball more than the vast majority of teams in the division, there is a greater chance of gaining set pieces in dangerous positions.

A more telling stat might be the percentage of successful set pieces (i.e. goals) in proportion to the number awarded.

The funny/amazing thing is Arsenal fans giving it the big one on twitter cos they've had two coaches off Brentford. Times have certainly changed..

This isn't good news...our set pieces improved massively once he came in. You can't begrudge a guy a move to Arsenal though.

Hopefully we can bring in someone equally good to replace him.

Started off like a house on fire but post lockdown our set pieces became less and less effective although two goals from corners in 12 games might still be considered ok.

That seemed to be more down to the delivery than anything else? Marcondes seems to be the most reliable set piece taker at the mo but even he put a couple of corners out for goal kicks. I guess they are trying to be uber-accurate with where they put the ball so it can't be that easy but we wasted quite a few corners with poorly executed short corners too.

I guess this is a consequence of our success on and off the pitch.. Begs the question, how much longer can we maintain an 'edge' when vultures are even circling over our off field staff?

If true, What a compliment to our club, And how befitting that Arsenal have now become OUR feeder club, how times are changing!!!

Yes, Andreas has been known to be going for Arsenal for months. So it would be unusual if we hadn't already replaced him, or very close to doing so.

How many months exactly? He only pitched up here in January didn't he?

You only have an edge by staying ahead. More clubs will start to realise the importance of specialisms like this and we will need to have the next idea then the next idea. Things like this are footballs equivalent of marginal gains and shows how far behind football really is as set pieces aren't really marginal at all
