Felt good typing that title.

As a former Highbury resident and someone that works close to the stadium, here's a few pointers:

All the pubs near the old Highbury Stadium on the Blackstock Road (Bank of Friendship, Gunners pub etc etc) are home fans only, as is the Tollington Arms on the Hornsey Road. My choice would the Faltering Fullback pub near Finsbury Park if you want to get served and it's not rammed on matchdays but a few on the Holloway Road should be okay, especially near Upper Holloway station.

Parking: forget it. Get the train in. You can't use Drayton Park on matchdays and Holloway Road station (Piccadilly line) is located closest, but is closed pre-match and is exit-only after the match.

Thought Holloway Rd Station was ok for arriving before the game. I’ll have to ask Brother In Law who lives on Holloway Rd Camden Rd Junction

Finsbury Park is a good choice. Walkable from the Emirates and lots of connections from there. I'll bee using it as can get direct Great Northern and Thameslink trains from Hatfield.

I was of the understanding Drayton Park station was only closed at weekends?

Edit - just confirmed it closes after all games.

My Mrs lived up the road along Crouch Hill when I met her and I spent many happy hours in this pub. Agreed, proper boozer.

Depends on the time, I think. They may have relaxed it.
used to okay to exit I think.

Only spent twelve years using twice a day. Amazing how much you forget in nine months.

Wonder if we can take as many as FC Koln did last season (or was it the year before)

When the Adams team went it was The George for the lock in. Then that French bloke came and put a stop to it. Right out of Holloway Picadilly line second right40 yards on the left corner. Many happy lock ins there. Blimey. A perfect draw.

Last season. Loads of them pissed by lunchtime on the Holloway Road for an evening kick off.

Mind you, I can think of a few on here that might be replicating that next month. :D

This is MOST LIKELY to be played on Wednesday 26th September as Arsenal have a match on the preceding Sunday

Yes, unless TV take it? But one or two other matches will, no doubt, be more interesting the SKY (or whoever has it). Thursday would've been perfect for me! Wednesday will mean asking for a favour, as I'm on a late shift!

45k crowd and a big pay day for us?

When I went to the Emirates previously it was with an Orient supporting mate to their FA cup replay a few years back. There were so many empty seats, I would estimate about 40k-45k crowd. Still announced officially as 59k+!

Bollox. Wednesday is my daughter’s birthday with a family dinner planned.

Not sure how to play this one.

Every club does it for league games as the official attendance is for tickets sold (including season tickets regardless of how many no shows there are). However, unless their season tickets include cup games - ours don't - they should for cup games be the actual turn out of punters in the ground.

Seems quite easy to me. Your family dinner is now at the Emirates. Hospitality will be around £450pp. ;)

No chance Sky will take it.
