Two clean sheets in a row important. More confidence in defence and gonna be harder to beat. The goals and the wins will come, starting on Tues night. I'll be there.

We should be burying teams like Villa - a load of cast-offs, including ours. lol

Superb performance, we will be closer to top 6 than the bottom 3.

Proud but disappointed. This was the Brentford we have come to enjoy over the past three years. Cocking a snoot over the big boys and silencing a vociferous home crowd.

Villa's perceived strength in depth was ridiculous with the likes of Hogan Snodgrass Agbonlihar and Lansbury on the bench but we outplayed them for long periods.

The back four was largely untroubled and played the ball around comfortably and took the sting out of the game.

Woods was the best player on the field, Sawyers was incisive and Yennaris tenacious.

First half we had no punch apart from Canos misheading a long ball forward, Sawyer's skying over and Maupay hitting the side net after initially miskicking.

Canos seemed to twist in a tackle and limped off and it didn't look good.

The Second half after a couple of early Villa flurries we controlled. Dalsgaard won everything,Henry was back to his best and Sawyers took control.

He put Clarke away but he had too much time and hit the keeper who then saved a Barbet free kick.

Watkins grew into the game and forced two excellent saves from curling long range efforts. Maupay hit the side net when well placed. Yennaris shot over from distance and then Egan miscontrolled when the ball fell to him from a Watkins cross.

One of them should have gone in.

Villa kept bringing on big name replacements, each more inept than the next. Hogan dived around nonstop and tried to con a penalty.

We were calm and kept playing football until the last couple of minutes when Henry and Barbet went down with cramp.

Injury time saw us come under concerted pressure for the first tine and Bentley - largely untroubled- made a stupendous close range blocking save when a goal seemed certain.

Best performance of the season and how we did not win I will never know.

Should have come away with all 3. Just can't finish. Annoying

Could say the same about them. Hogan and the bloke they paid even more for and they couldn't score against our defence supposedly weakened by Dean and Colin sodding off to that other crap team in Birmingham.

On another day we should've won that, but I'd have taken a draw before kick-off and pair that with 2 clean sheets in a row and I'm relatively happy.

Delighted with a point. Today and Tuesday are not easy games. Worried that we would get nothing from either. Well played Brentford. :hat:

A pleasure reading these reports and comments. BBC reckons Bees deserved to win but were foiled by a blinder by Villa keeper.

Should be obvious
Thought we were class today and outplayed Villla. John Terry is lacking in class and the way he gave it the bigun to the away section at the end sums him up.

What did he do?

Agreed, doesn't mean it wasn't a good point though.

I always try and look at what I would have wanted before the game, regardless of what played out during the game.

I definately would have settled for a point at 3.00.

He was great along with Lampard and Cole at GP after the 2-2 FA Cup game.

Deserved point I guess, could have nicked it on a couple of occasions, Watkins and Egan.
But then they had a great chance that Bentley managed to save somehow.

Make you proud to be a bee, how much our team costs compared to theirs and what they get for it. Bugger all lol

Just need to be more ruthless and clinical, that first win will come ;)

Good point... excellent performance by the team... looked assured at the back.. If it wasn't for Johnstone we would have won today no doubt... be worried if I was a Villa fan.. squad full of expensive players but second best today.. looking forward to Tuesday...

Everyone played their part today. Deserved three points but if we can't have that we made sure we got the one, together with the added bonus of a consecutive clean sheet.

Shame we weren't a bit more clinical and got the 3 points we probably deserved but I'd have taken a point before a ball was kicked.
The back 5 were nigh on faultless from first until last and in fairness we were better in almost every area.
Their best player was probably the only one I hadn't heard of at left midfield and their keeper gave them a share of the points.
Great ground, sh*t support from them and another Burton like turn out with a lot of old school quality Bees in attendance.
Good lunchtime session amongst veterans at Mick and Corrine Woods Victoria club beforehand, not such a great experience in the tent called The Witton.
Need a bit of composure to get that win but suspect when we get one we'll see a few more pretty quickly.

Spat on the floor then stood in front of away section sticking his chest out and eyeballing us giving it the head shake and mouthing at us.

Cheers, KB.

We got to VP at 2pm and were greeted by a Villa fan standing in front of me and pointing to the ground and saying "That's a proper ground that is". As we passed the Holte End a comedian thought it was funny to pull me towards him and ask me what our capacity was at Griffin Park and proceed to chuckle with his mates. These Billy Big b***ocks fans get on my tits. At least no one tried to pick a fight with me and the kids like last year!

On to the game, Bentley was largely untroubled until that excellent save near the end. Defence looked good and Dalsgaard was a little bit more reserved than previous and I think that helped.

Josh Clarke played really well IMO and caused havoc down their left. Sawyers was economical with his passes and Woods was everywhere. Good to see Rico back and Watkins was aided by Maupay's movement which created space.

An impressive performance and the Villa fans were not happy on BBC WM. They did all say we play attractive football.

Love it when we get the old school turnout at games, much better and good to see the faces

No complaints about the performance but we have to take chances as good as the 3 Clarke, Watkins and Maupay had .

We didn't win another game we dominated and that is cause for concern

Pretty much as I saw it.

Had one of our numerous chances crept in and given us a tiny piece of luck we so deeply deserve we would be lording a performance up there with anything from the last few years. The 0.0 flatters a rather gutless villa team largely bullied by Rico Henry, nico and woods, The boos were ringing out from half time onwards as time after time we stepped in and took the ball off them.

In the end you are happy with the point because you get this awful smash and grab feeling like Bristol and Ipswich all over again and a point is a point.

Reminds me of last year when we couldn't score for toffee before xmas.

And, a special mention to the bloke sitting two rows behind me. Christ he didn't stop all game and I won't bother with the details other than to repeat what he said in the 88th minute when woods over hit a ball down the line.

"You fking useless ginger c---, you are an embarrassment, you are not a professional football player, you should be ashamed you fking useless c---, you are not good enough, f--- off, get of the pitch, you will never make it"

Amazing stuff, he pretty much went on like this all games and most players got some. It is not worth saying anything. Because I have come to the conslusion that these people are so damn thick they don't even realise what's happening around them and to argue would be futile because they are just too dim to formulate a rational opinion.

I'd have been sorely tempted to lamp him, we do have a small % of complete knobbers

Only watched on iFollow, but I thought the fking useless ginger c--- was the best player on the pitch by a mile, especially in the first half. I know how hard it is to get over what happened to him, just a few weeks ago, and he deserves all the credit in the world for even stepping out onto the pitch.

I think we will be a better team with out Harlee Dean . I thought John Egan was out standing and we are always likely to score from him from set pieces and corners. Ryan Woods welcome back top top man.
