There seems to be a pattern of less reporting of attendances e.g. none outside the Premier League in The Observer today. I always used to love comparing the attendances of Rochdale and Stevenage while looking at the results.

Also anyone know of any internet sites that have attendances in a clear and easily accessible form - like used to be the case in papers.

Clearly all the above is only a concern for some of us 'legacy supporters'.

Thanks very much, though I am a bit hesitant to endorse a site called 'fanbanter'. I will just have to look surreptitiously.

..... & knowing the away fans element, which was/is quite enlightening, especially for example if it was a match versus a far distant dot on the map

Talking about attendances caught part of the Southampton United game early and was surprised to see so many empty seats. Would have thought being first home game of the season and that and with it being United would have sold out?

Never heard of Southampton United. What league are they in?

Fans delayed getting in, due to ticket issues I gather......

There seemed to be some special circumstances at play there in terms of problems with Southampton's ticketing systems but I've noticed more empty seats than usual at PL matches in the opening weeks - there were certainly a couple of empty blocks opposite us at Selhurst Park yesterday. The stated attendances also seem to be down a little though perhaps not by as much as the empty seats would suggest. In the FL it's difficult to get an overall picture yet - some clubs are substantially up, others shockingly down.

Covid is still going to be putting some off attending, even those with season tickets, while, incomprehensible though it is to me, I guess over the course of an 18 month absence some people have just got out of the habit of going to matches and discovered something else to do with their weekends.

Consequently, we will be giving all general admission ticket holders (both Season Ticket holders and individual match purchasers) a refund for today’s game (a credit will be given to Season Ticket holders’ accounts).

Great Gesture

Afc Wimbledon have played twice at New Plough Lane and they still haven't worked out how to count numbers yet.
No ST holders have had their ST card yet
No attendance has been given for either game yet

BBC Sport reports on games include the attendances at the bottom of the 'Line Ups' tab....

Is the whole thing deliberate or laziness?
Out of practice on getting the attendance to the media during the game, I guess? It wouldn't surprise if some marketing departments at other clubs were sticking their nose in. At one time Kurt Pittman tried to stop us releasing the away figure as he realised people could then deduce how many home tickets had sold - or not.

Thanks. I am not surprised re-potential manipulation (I am not commenting on any former Brentford employees). Surely any half decent member of a board / journalist / fan should be able to spot. Surely it makes more sense to deal with root causes rather than hiding figures.
