In the latest instalment of ‘one rule for us etc.’ Novak Djokovic gets an ‘exemption’ from needing to have a vaccine passport to compete at the Aussie Open. I hope players refuse to play him but I am not naive enough to think it might happen.
Money makes the world go round……
How will they boo if they are locked down? (and there's a couple of cities in China locked down more than Melbourne that I would hazard a guess at)Expect the loudest boo-ing ever received by a tennis player from the most locked down city in the world.

You’re right the final lockdown finished over a month ago. The numerous lockdowns varied in their severity - at one point we could only leave our house for 4 very specific reasons, & couldn’t travel more than 5kms.![]()
The world's most locked down city gets a taste of freedom
Melbourne's sixth lockdown is officially over and patrons are already back at pubs and restaurants. But most retailers won't reopen until the 80 per cent of the eligible population is vaccinated.www.abc.net.au
The lockdown ended some time ago.
Most = most days. Not strictest, although Melbourne's was pretty strict.
I am afraid notExpect the loudest boo-ing ever received by a tennis player from the most locked down city in the world.
He has millions of fans? I don't know anyone, including massive tennis fans, who doesn't think he's a total knob. In some ways I'm glad he's going, it'll turn a lot of neutrals into actual haters. Let's see how that whole heart-pushing thing works out.It also gives a very irresponsible example for all his millions of fans
Basically saying that dont worry its fine to not have the vaccine
Exempt? How is he able to get into the country without a vaccine??
The tournament yes (a complete job) but the country??
I'll stick with Tesco then.Yes, but Morrison is full of sh*t.
Goody, Goody, Gum Drops.Visa cancelled. From afar looks like they gave him a visa, there was a public outcry (quite rightly so) then politicians/ PM intervened and found a loophole to cancel his visa.

Hang on. I thought his father gave them 30 minutes to release him before he was going to start a riot?BBC are reporting his visa has been canceled and he will be deported tomorrow. Nice to see we taught the Aussies something![]()
Goody, Goody, Gum Drops.
If true, this has made my day.
Forehand cuffs?I hope they are keeping him in handcuffs.
I’d say you’ve got this spot on.Visa cancelled. From afar looks like they gave him a visa, there was a public outcry (quite rightly so) then politicians/ PM intervened and found a loophole to cancel his visa.

Well it won't be the tennis courts!I’d say you’ve got this spot on.
Wouldn’t surprise me if this ends up in the courts.

It mentions that on the video I uploaded above, except that the details are non-specific and those others (I don't believe that 3 is certain) may have genuine reasons as set-out in the video.Even more so as I read that three players have been given the same visa as Novax with the same exemption and have been allowed in.
