Well I guess we can say what we like about LewRich's initial posts, but we can't deny that he's engendered a lively debate covering a lot of subjects!!!!!

Yep. Already said that.
Why don't those who wish to sit/stand together contact BIAS directly, their details are online, it's quite simple. Then go through the right channels to see what they can do with the Club involved.
Then this will stop the same sh*t season on season going over the same bloody issue.
At present, if someone buys a ticket for a seat, then respect their wish to sit there. Don't stand near them or in front of them. It's quite simple.
We met with the club tonight and they are looking at ways to ensure people have more choice of seats at away games.

Go on....
It will all come to nothing if the stewards enforce sitting down which I think actually is the law is it not? Anyway at 60 I was brought up on standing terraces and to be blunt that's what we need but safe.
Do you know me then? Did I see you generating atmosphere at the likes of Torquay and Exeter in league 2 then known as division 4? You no doubt would have loved the terraces of the 70's and 80's and the long walks to the stations too?fans like yourself are the reason football is dying. football is all about creating a good atmosphere. you could not be more wrong and don't deserve to go any brentford games
it is incredibly frustrating to go all way to newcastle and see every sitting down and getting behind the team. save your money and stay at home
If it's so frustrating why don't you stay at home as 10% in the away end won't generate an atmosphere either.
I also don't see Ealing Road generating a great atmosphere at home that much.

Harsh going after Ealing Road when there are 2 much larger stands either side which sit in complete silence from first whistle to last. Unless there's an opportunity to do some good old fashioned booing.
It's only unfair if that person really wanted that specific seat, which I find incredibly unlikely.
He spoke about Ealing Road in earlier post and I have responded with my opinion, so not going after ER at all. Where I sit The Paddock, there is very little moaning or booing but strangely a good atmosphere and standing when appropriate

Football is dying? I have been following Brentford for best part of 50 years and for most of that time we were in the lowest 2 divisions, where the club nearly died in the 60's with a QPR takeover. Then again close to dying as a club under Noades and a move to Woking. Only fans on bth occasions stopped this happening and with some decent atmosphere at fans forums etc when it was needed most. We are now in the best hands possible and full of life and the best spell for 70 years.
My default posture at away games is something like Edvard Munch's "Scream" picture. I am very much a head-in-hands merchant and never relax throughout. It's always been like this and it's hard to change now. Perhaps there could be a small section for twitching loons.
Simple fact is our away support is poor because 90% of fans want to sit down. That 90% are letting the club down. stand and get behind the team

...............it's a school night.........will be tucked up in bed by half past nine.............'Football dying' ... can you expand on what you mean by that statement ?
Not deserving to go to any Brentford games ! ... tell you what, make yourself known to me tonight please and we can have a discussion about all this
But as everyone on the terrace is standing up, which we are constantly being told is the key to a good atmosphere, surely the place should be rocking every home game?
I'd suggest there's some semi-professional trolling been going on... possibly in an attempt to out Hullbee before he can stand and sing from his QPR hospitality accommodation on the 28th.
It does seem to have worked, though, and there'll be some kiddy-sniggering at the responses.
I think passing off the issue as youngsters trolling is only fuelling the apparent divide in our fan base.
Some may not be articulating it particularly well but there's evidently a problem here (it's been raised repetitively since we started selling out away matches) - unfunny facetious responses such as these are just childish.
Bias, and independent voice of Brentford supporters run by some of the most intelligent and loyal Brentford fans I know of have raised the issue with the club - funny that they haven't got any sarcastic responses on here.
Obviously there is something of a divide between the way fans support the club, remember people moaning about the "young fans" back in the late 50's and I had to ask my Dad what they were on about. seemingly fans were not as passionate as when he was a lad. don't seem to have moved forward in the past 50/60 years!!!!
wirh the advent of Social media the level of moaning/complaining has increased however perhaps we should take stock of where we are and where we could be. Just looked at the non league table and the following clubs have all played us in the league in " recent" years.
Wrexham, Torquay, York, Darlington, Dagenham and Redbridge, Barrow, Lincoln, Macclesfield, Aldershot, Tranmere, Chester, Workington
There but for the grace of god could be us and perhaps we should enjoy ourselves more as we compete in the second tier of English football. In reality we have little to moan about!!!!!
There were plenty of free seats dotted around, we (a group of three) came in the stand about 2.55 and chose some at random midway up, and there were a couple other free around us too and sat there. But why should someone arse around looking for a seat cos you want to stand there? You're the one where you shouldn't be so you should move...
One solution of course is two options on website when selling tickets.. Selling a "Singing" section (ie.. Though youd have to ask for a "singing ticket" with a wink, a bit like buying king sized rizlas in a newsagent or something, everyone knows it means standing really) to be the back corner or something.
Nowadays, I'm happy to sit or stand depending on what the others around me are doing. Younger (and that is a generalisation) fans will always want to stand and sing and chant. In a few years time it will be a different generation complaining that not everyone is standing or the atmosphere isn't good enough.
Saturday was always going to attract a large number of day-trippers. This is a 14-page thread about a 'problem' that doesn't exist.
For too many months and possibly years now the atmosphere at away matches have been utterly abysmal. 13/14 and 14/15 when we won most weeks actually gave us false atmosphere and the past two season have exposed just how miserable away matches can be for us. It's becoming painfully obvious as to who/which group fans are the ones that give a damn are the millenials. The ones that my generation look at and sneer at because they didnt was our team win the London war cup or some sh*t like that. The bunch who arent true fans because they take issue with us sellingplayers all the time and giving us a team full of half-arsed f*ckwits.
We need to stop letting these younger fans down by either a) making an effort at the match and not merely being consumers. (Standing up chanting not moaning when someone who gives a sh*t about doing the above takes our allocated seat) b) ignoring our allocated seats at the top of the stand and letting people who do give a sh*t occupy that spot instead. If you want to sit down and contribute nothing fair. Just dont sit on the first few rows. Go to the bottom of the stand.
There is so much apathy around this club right now and its not all down to footballing reasons. Its because or fans can be very annoying. There needs to be a solution. Maybe the club could ask the hosts to give a virtual seat number like we do on ealing road when you buy your tickets but not necessarily have the right to sit in that seat? If that happens, eventually we will get the point that the consumers sit towards the bottom of the stand and all the ones that care stand at the top. Or maybe we can all just agree to not get anal about our allocated seats? If you been given seat 23 row ZY or something and know you wanna sit down maybe just go somewhere else and not moan when someone who wants to stand is at your spot?
Lets stop letting each other down. Were a success story but it seems like this club is losing its heart (academy closing, dismantling of 1st team squads) so lets not give each other reasons to turn on each other too.
That's a bit Rich coming from Lew ...
The solution is already implemented on our own club website where we have a diagram of the stadium and you can choose where you want to sit when you buy your ticket. All we need to do is set up the same sort of diagram for each of the 23 away games - after all we know well in advance who we're playing, the layout of the stadia, the areas allocated to away supporters and so on - so it shouldn't be difficult. And the effort in setting it up initially will probably be re-usable in subsequent seasons for at least 16 of the stadia. We then arbitrarily designate an area as a "singing section" and, bingo, everyone can choose whether to sit with the vocalists or the watchers. Okay, a little bit of effort needs to be invested in setting it up but it's hardly a Herculean task for a professional outfit.
Problem solved?
Except that the home club determine how tickets are to be sold. Not only will it require each stadium seating plan to be mapped to the Brentford Tickets site but it will require negotiation with each home club to be able to designate two separate areas for tickets to be sold in parallel, which itself may mean BFC guaranteeing a certain number of ticket sales. No club will actively promote a standing section in a stadium, so it will need to be described as something else, but will still not prevent stewards enforcing ground regulations. The solution is already implemented on our own club website where we have a diagram of the stadium and you can choose where you want to sit when you buy your ticket. What if you took my seat but its next to my mates and I wanted to be near them haven't you ruined my day potentially? This is highly unlikely by the way as I have no friends.
