Fixtures have been a bit crap this season tbh I know covid restrictions means we haven't been able to travel abroad but there have only been 2 games against top flight opponents in a palace 11 and a Chelsea 11.....not many of these type of games are.going to prepare many of the players to step up to the 1st team if needed

But the whole point of the B team is that we don't end up just playing equivalent U-23 teams. They've played a load of first teams from lower divisions/non-league, plus they've come up against strong sides from the Championship and had some real tough games in Cyprus in very different conditions. Personally think they'll learn a lot more from playing against senior pros than against players of the same age group or younger..

I would imagine that Covid issues have made it difficult to play teams over here as well.

I should think the mods just don't see him as an ex-Bee. It's strange though how he's allowed to divide his loyalties like that, unless the training/matches etc at Hanwell are such that it's all completely on his own time.

Brentford B head to take on an Oxford United XI on Tuesday afternoon in a 1pm kick-off.

The behind closed doors match will see the young Bees test themselves against League One opposition and they will be looking to build on positive recent displays.

No stream anywhere I suppose? It's not quite the same United I've taken the night off for but it would be something to watch that doesn't involve Richard Osman or Bradley Walsh I guess?

Wonder whether JDS will get any minutes?

A live stream would be nice.
Being streamed live on YouTube I think, with it only being 10 minutes away I wish it wasn't behind closed doors though. Would've been a nice warm up before leaving for Southampton

Lovely composed play from MPH in the build up to the goal - Took the ball on the half turn, beat a man and slipped a nice through ball down the channel… Great football

3-0 and that's a hat trick for NYC. Worked it around the edge of the six yard box very nicely.

The no. 7, Haygarth (?), he's turning into a right little terrier, runs at them and throws "hisself" at them as if it's a competitive game for the three points on a Satdee.

4-1, looks like Russell.

Jude Russell gets the fourth from a corner - turned in a rebound after MU went to sleep when his header came back off the post. And that's HT.

Impressive slope on that pitch, downhill 2nd half so it should be easier on the legs.

Another from a corner for Russell. 5-1.

Some 14 year old Maidenhead boys have turned up in the youtube chat

Surprised at how bad Maidenhead were, given that these Conference outfits usually rough the B team up a bit. It tends to be only against Isthmian/Southern League and lower teams that the B team racks up fours and fives.

First half was very good.. MPH brilliant skill to set up Haygarth to pass for NYC to score. NYC, Haygarth, MPH and Jeffries were the stand out players.. second half was fractured due to the subs.

I though Maghoma just looked a class above everyone when he came on - so much time and very confident on the ball. No wonder we were keen to get him signed up, just hope he can stay injury free for an extended period!

Of them all Jeffries has been a revelation. I doubt whether he's got the pace and skill to break into the first team at Brentford, but as someone who possibly came in to fill up the numbers he has taken his opportunity really well and in terms of application and attitude a decent professional career beckons.

I can't make up my mind about Trevitt. Works really hard, gets into good positions and can play across the pitch. Still young so time on his side but another who seems to be playing above expectations.
