Good win, but against yet another weak opponent. It will be exciting to see these boys against good opponents for the Atlantic cup. Are they as good as previous B teams or have they faced worse opponents this and last season due to corona?

I liked how Lewis Gordon cut inside and drove at them with the ball in the 2nd half, wasn't happy just playing easy passes to his team-mates.

Please promote him to 1st team immediately ! That’s what we need them to do, cut inside and drive at them. Lewis and Mads B would make a great duo !! Loved the audio from Macfarlane “2 touches, 2 touches” and “closer, closer” constantly throughout the match. Calling players out individually too if they were too slow to react.

He also did that classic gabbling thing he does, where he bawls the player's name and compresses "get in there", "tackle", "do it", "pressure" and "forward" into about six syllables.
It's also bizarre the way Gordon was assigned a squad number at the start of the season, but hasn't recieved a call.

Not sure we've got enough to cover 2 B team games and a first team. It sounds like we had a BCD friendly last week with quite a few trialists (one of whom's been mentioned here as going to portugal), so would expect a few in both squads..

Keeping this off the Middlesex Senior Cup thread as it is a general observation on B team selection.
Team selections are interesting for me.
My examples would be that Cox (IIRC) has not had much game time since the arrival of Lossl and Raya's return to fitness.
Likewise with Paris. Lightly used since his contract extension. Maybe coming back from injury?
Final example is Max Haygarth. Around the first team pre season. Maybe like Paris is he being eased back from injury?
I would have expected all three to be involved tonight.

They very likely neglected to interview Farls and get his thoughts after the game! I can see why they got a hiding though, like, alot of focus on the cups/winning streak/settled team etc, then back to a Saturday morning friendly/trialists and wham, back down to earth.

Nope, no mention of it on the OS. All we know was there were some trialists and Maghoma, Rees, Hercules, Trevitt, Sotona, Adedokun and Syla all played a part. The OS report even has photos with the background players and bench blurred out so clearly they don't want us to know who was there!

I didn't even know they played WFU until Greville mentioned it on the podcast tonight, but Wake's campus is only about 20 minutes from my house in Winston-Salem NC and I have seen them play at home several times!
(Totally forgot to mention that on the pod lol). They have always had a storied program with many players playing in the MLS and around the world, and are always ranked high in the NCAA rankings. Our young boys should not be distraught at all for losing; WFU is a good team.
