I'm wondering if the inclusion of Haygarth and Gilbert in recent squads means it's the end of the road for Joe Adams, despite him having another year left. Fredrik Hammar is another one...he was on the first team bench 6 times last season, 4 or so so far in this, but he seems to've dropped off. Kane O'Connor, however good he can be, with everyone fit, he's got 5-6 first team CBs ahead of him.

Kane O'Connor looks a good footballer, however, he does appear to be too short to be considered for inclusion in the First Team Squad. I wonder if he is likely to go on loan this January in order to assist in a permanent move in the Summer?

Adams and Hammar haven't been in the B team squads either so assume they're injured.

You’d have thought that they would have rested either MBS or Pinnock if they thought O’Connor was close to the first-team standard

I think O'Connor is injured. He was pictured in midweek with Bidstrup who is presumably just working on running/fitness at the moment and hasn't been in the B team for a bit. I'd imagine if fit he'd have been on the bench at least. He's definitely our best B team CB..

Good to know, as I also thought he had potential

One other thing to come out of all these debuts is hopefully it shines a light on these lads to get them back with their international associations. Pressley and Gordon were both capped by Scotland before they moved to the B team, same with Gilbert with ROI. Wouldn't be surprised if England are waking up to Stevens and keeping an eye on Haygarth and Hockenhull, what with their Man United pedigree. Shepperd, he could get his chance again with Wales U21.

I think he's got great potential. He's good on the ball and generally unflustered. One of the many B team players who've been massively unlucky to be injured in this period as I'm sure he'd have got some first team squad time. Hockenhull is starting to look the part now too

Ryan Trevitt of Leatherhead signs. As usual, naff all info provided by the club, sounds like he's a midfielder and no mention of contract length. A bit of digging shows he was either called up to or capped by England Futsal U19.

Looks like we're entering another 'transition phase' for the B team according to MacFarlane. Do we presume then that the likes of Gilbert, Stevens and Haygarth are staying with the first team? Looking at the team fielded today it looks like Andersson, Koutsimouka and Adams may well be off elsewhere..

I surmise from what Farls said that the heavy use of trialists early season (presumably for reasons of lack of numbers/calendar wiped out after March/no traditional pre-season/looking at potential signings) will now be started up again, so as to make up for the time missed last year, so the team enters next season about where they should be.

Wasn’t there something earlier about Anderson being on trial with a Swedish Club?

So, given MacFarlane's comments about needing to keep bringing players in for the B team, it seems like the likes of Stevens, Gilbert and Haygarth may well be spending most of their time with the first team squad? I wouldn't be too surprised to see one of Kane 'O'Connor or Hockenhull join them too once fully fit...

It's not much of a source, but someone has heard rumours that Simon Andersson will shortly trial with Swedish second tier outfit Jönköpings Södra IF.

Interesting snippet from Phil Giles' post transfer window interview where he said that because there's no non-league games on at the moment we're getting a fair few players in to train with us and trial, gives us a good chance to look at some non-league prospects close up..

Just to say MBS is getting better fast! It looks like he is the next valuable player from the B team, whether he stays with us all his career or leaves for a fee in the next few years. I guess in order for others to come through he will move on.

MacFarlane seemed very impressed with the trialists from yesterday. Wonder if we'll be seeing one or two coming in? It does seem like there's a few B teamers who are not far off being promoted to the first team 'group' so there are likely to be spaces..

This vid is a look at who is participating in training at the moment.

It's strange that they'd show a bunch of unknown faces, in slow-mo, given the secrecy surrounding trialists, so maybe they could be incoming signings. Anyone know who this is? To my eyes this guy doesn't look like he's on our books.

And another guy:

Someone was asking about if Ethan Robb is fit. Is this him? Kind of looks older than 17-odd, but he'd have to be 19 or younger to be taking part with the B team.

Fin Stevens let slip the name "Roy" as being someone who played with him in midfield versus Luton. Don't see a single player named Roy listed in any EPL or EFL retained list or squad list, so wouldn't be surprised if Roy is another Isthmian/Southern League trialist.

The 14 was this guy, he might be "Roy".

He looks useful in these highlights.. Not a good day for the keeper here either! Think this is the new kid from Liverpool.. What's happened to Shepherd? B team missing a fair few players again in this one. You'd imagine they'd be a bit nearer full strength on Wed with so many first teamers coming back to fitness..

I imagine Shepperd had his B team comeback appearance and his first team call up as a reward, before focusing on fitness etc for next season, when it'll be just him and Winterbottom vying for the number one jersey more than likely.
