This Charming ManHalf-time entertainment is good though! Good tunes!
Should have told them your were related to Cliff Crown!I tried. Found an open gate and walked in.... tried to keep a very low profile (bit tricky when you’re a paddock fatty) and watched five minutes of football before being asked very nicely to leave.
Made me realise just how much I miss being at a game.![]()

Not strong enough. Quite laboured.Hercules misses glorious chance to get one back.
It was a really weak team given the situation. So I doubt that will happen apart from some of the defenders who were so sloppy and casual. One of the worst performances the B team have had. Think they will get a proverbial rollicking about it

I presume that Farls is secure in his job, but rather than us just getting his cliched in-house interviews after games and the odd cliched in-house player interview, it'd be nice to be informed what the plan is for the B team this season (are they treading water/rebuilding etc), why is the squad so depleted and are the trialists serious considerations for signings or are they just plugging the gaps? It'd just give us some context for these "bad" performances, which at times hark back to the Dev Squad era (though yeah, the B team plays against far higher quality opposition).Instead of a rollicking - get 'em on the training ground with 3 objectives - 1) teach them to control a football, 2) teach them to pass to their own team mates (especially those not marked by 2/3 defenders) and 3) teach them to play towards the other team's goal.
If there's time, also teach thm to use their 'second ' foot (as the home goalkeeper did).
A dreadful, amateurish display.
Made a couple of good saves but on occasions early on he fumbled the ball and played a teammate into trouble but got away with it . I hope he makes it ,Thought that Balcombe had another reasonable game, well half a game.
I suspect Covid19 has been a major factor, not only in the whole squad having had to isolate but also in terms of having a good regular set of fixtures around Europe to play. The current B team squad looks to have a lot of new players with a cohort having stepped up or out and getting them integrated and trained in the Brentford way can’t have been easy.I presume that Farls is secure in his job, but rather than us just getting his cliched in-house interviews after games and the odd cliched in-house player interview, it'd be nice to be informed what the plan is for the B team this season (are they treading water/rebuilding etc), why is the squad so depleted and are the trialists serious considerations for signings or are they just plugging the gaps? No hi vizzes in the ground today - nor most others at the moment, no point . . . plus they become something the home team have to disinfect afterwards.told ya mate , hi viz and no one would have said a dicky bird
My comments were based purely on today's showing. But 3 possibles ? No 5 (O'Kane) I'd say certainly, and No 2 possibly - who was the third who impressed you out there?,Let's keep things in perspective. Looking at the current B team squad, not including those out on loan I make it eleven players with a reasonable possibility of having a decent football career for themselves - perhaps even with us.Only three of them played today.
I think this is overly harsh. They've been playing very well recently with some v tough games. Today was a poor performance but there were definitely mitigating circumstances and regardless of whether it was mostly squad players, Eastleigh looked very strong and aggressive and didn't let us settle on the ball at all. All v good experience for the boys and most of them probably haven't experienced that intensity before. It's much better that they're facing challenges like this than thumping some club's kids 6-0 every week.I presume that Farls is secure in his job, but rather than us just getting his cliched in-house interviews after games and the odd cliched in-house player interview, it'd be nice to be informed what the plan is for the B team this season (are they treading water/rebuilding etc), why is the squad so depleted and are the trialists serious considerations for signings or are they just plugging the gaps? You're both making exactly my point, we have our theories as to why things are as they are, it'd be just nice to have someone from the setup come out and state what the objectives are this season and why they're perennially short on numbers!I think this is overly harsh. The B team are indeed in transition and the players we've brought in this year all look very positive. Not sure why so many were out today but I suspect the new 9 subs rule has had an impact along with ongoing injuries in the first team. In the midweek training photos, there were a fair few B teamers involved including Gilbert, Pressley and Hammar. Stevens will more than likely be in the squad as back up RB and it maybe that we've taken a couple more along in case?
Yes, I am sure you are correct. I had forgotten all about the nine subs rule, and of course up to five substitutions Spot on again.I think this is overly harsh. Objectives are the same as always, to develop players for the first team or to move on to other clubs and hopefully generate profit from them in the future..You're both making exactly my point, we have our theories as to why things are as they are, it'd be just nice to have someone from the setup come out and state what the objectives are this season and why they're perennially short on numbers!
It happens, the B team have gone 3 at the back recently (mainly due to lack of fit midfielders), and it had worked reasonably well for them but yesterday showed the downside of that system, when you get overrun in midfield and can't get the ball to your dangerous players, particularly with no outlet for the long ball. We saw that at Stoke with the first team. I don't think we can properly judge this 'group' until we've got a fully fit and settled squad.. Personally think there's some real talent in there who are probably closer to first team level than previously.. (this may also have a negative impact on B team results as players are training with the first team more)..Bad day at the office, with a bit of a scratch team, against a well organised opposition. From what I saw nobody really shone out.
Wouldn't read much more into it than that
There's this, but which in true Brentford OS fashion says a whole lotta nothing!it'd be nice to be informed what the plan is for the B team this season (are they treading water/rebuilding etc), why is the squad so depleted and are the trialists serious considerations for signings or are they just plugging the gaps?
