So, the rumours of Nørgaard and the zombie apocalypse Bermuda triangle must be true, then? It all makes sense now.

This would be great. It feels like someone like this would add so much authority on the pitch. Fingers crossed it’s not bs

Would love this to come off but not expecting it to.
Wednesday fans, loads of them, very much see it happening.

So some on here wouldn't sign Ronaldo if he was available and wanted to come to us. He's too old and we won't be able to develop him after all.

Not sure he would be interested in being a squad player. He has made 96 appearances since the beginning of the season before last and has pretty much only missed out when suspended (25 bookings in the period).

We are great at this. Set the tone low, get the thought process going. let them sleep on it, raise the bid tomorrow to one that is better than today’s. Player speaks out wanting to go. Everyone’s Ends up happy, happy.

Interest in Bannan has been touted for a little while. Sources of a usually reliable nature have also repeatedly mentioned our desire for an experienced CM in this window.

I suspected Janelt might have been the only addition in that area for now - but given his age - plus Bidstrup’s ACL injury - he might simply have been a replacement for him.

Should Bannan actually end up at Brentford, it would be difficult to see how Marcondes, Jensen and Baptiste would all remain happy with such limited likelihood of minutes in rotation. Perhaps one would head out, at least on loan.

He would not be if he was a competitor for Marcondes/Jensen and not just standby for Christian. If the former, he would walk straight into the team. :)

Have also liked Bannan when he has played against us, creative, keeps the ball and a little nasty as well. Would love to see him here but as other have said we would have a lot of players competing for the same places.

A goal kick from Harrow Borough FC
you must be joking - he was by far the best player they had on the pitch and had a very good game
Whenever I’ve seen him, he’s usually the opposition’s best player!
I thought it odd when he said he could see himself as a Bee. Maybe an inkling had been sprinkled in his direction? Usually if Player X says “I’ve always been a great admirer of Man Ure”, then discussions are likely underway!

So get him signed before the end of this Transfer Window, put him at least on the bench against Coventry getting him ready for Wednesday’s away game

Seem to remember that TF really rates Mr. Bannan. He has been a fine player for Sheff Wed, but I agree that he looked less impressive in our last encounter.

I bow to your superior memory. Being their best player doesn't say a lot, and I thought I remembered saying to myself that he was poor relative to his high standards that day. Have always rated him and am on record as suggesting he would be a good fit here.

I would think considering his age he would be looking for the longest contract he could get, that may prove a stumbling block, even id SW accept an offer.

Personally I think our ball progression through midfield has been really poor starting from some time after lock down and this is our attempt to deal with it. Bannan is one of the most consistently creative passers in the league and has been for many years. We are good in both boxes but for a team that supposedly likes to dominate we fail time and time again to build through the thirds when there is pressure in midfield, and with our counter attacking threat slightly weakened by Watkins departure we need to fix it if we are going to create enough chances to challenge.

Bannan won't get loads of goals or assists, nor will he offer much defensively, but he'll help us control games through midfield and feed the players who will do the real damage. Plus he's a wise and respected older head.

Was it a one year deal?
No it was a 3 year deal signed in August 2018

What a signing he would be. He rarely gives the ball away and always finds space to take the ball from the back four. he would also be rejuvenated by a likely promotion challenge rather than dimply trying to avid the drop.

Hope this comes off.

I do wonder how much we'd be prepared to pay. The Owls are really not going to want to sell - they need all the battlers they can get being rooted at the foot of the table. I would think they'll ask £3-4m.

It does sound like some back up/replacement for Norgaard - if this was a planned signing, then why leave it this late (unless the recent grapevine has indicated BB's itching to get away)?

Bannan is not a defensive player, he is a passer, and he makes Ryan Woods look like a giant. He would be even more lost in the Norgaard role than Jensen.

I've often watched him and thought if he spent more time playing football and less time worrying about his wisps of hair he'd be a good player.
