Goal! Brentford 0, Brighton and Hove Albion 1. Leandro Trossard (Brighton and Hove Albion) right footed shot from the centre of the box to the bottom right corner. Assisted by Alexis Mac Allister.

As described on BBC. My wife described it a bit differently.

Not at the game,or even having a means to stream it, but it does seem that we have missed a few decent opportunities and now paying the price.

That’s it, ends 1-0 to Brighton.
Tough one to take, especially as we should of gone into half time at least a goal to the good.

Unlucky Bees, draw would have been very fair but a moment of real quality won it for them.

Take the positives, 4 games against established PL teams and we have looked just as good as any of them.

Quality strike to win it, we looked a bit toothless up front in the second half, on another day one of Bryan’s first half efforts would have gone in. For me we have to try to get wider and deliver more dangerous balls into the box, it could create a few more half chances for us in dangerous areas. Good to see Onyeka back and I like what Roerslev could offer as an attacking option wide right

That's true, except for the 'unlucky' bit. One shot on target and plenty off target.

However, this was the game out of our next 4 where we were most likely to pick up at least a point, preferably more. Going to have to be better in the final 3rd if we want to pick anything up from the next 3 games. We have mostly had kind fixtures to start the season.

Only saw the last 30 mins. They dominated the ball a lot without threatening the goal. A very good goal which you couldn’t do much about.
We be interested to see what chances we had first half.
Onwards……

The defence was solid overall but Brighton ran the midfield in the last 30 minutes of the game and they were always more likely to score than we were.

I think a few are being a bit generous here. We didn't touch the ball for the last 20 minutes of the game, to be honest I think Jensen was too easy to play against when he came on and maybe Ghoddos would have been a better option (hindsight n all that). The goal wasn't exactly coming but we were hanging on for a 0-0.

It's a bit of a worry that we're not creating much. The defence looks tight enough (their goal was a moment of pure quality) but the Bryan/Toney partnership hasn't exactly clicked yet. I think the reality is Bryan's finishing needs to improve and Toney needs to receive the ball a bit higher up the pitch.

It wont be the last game we lose in this division. I think it's going to be interesting to see how we react v Wolves.

A tough result as I felt that we were worthy of at least a point.. Bryan will be disappointed with his first two chances.. still early days and need to learn from this experience. Crowd and atmosphere were excellent throughout

First half we were excellent, should have been a couple up but Bryan was very wasteful (though every other aspect of his play was superb again today).

Second half was pretty poor by both sides. Brighton much better over the last 10 mins and you could feel the goal coming. We began to look very tired, particularly Bryan and Toney (who had both worked their socks off), would like to have put some fresh legs up top.

In the end, a game we were reasonably comfortable in but has been snatched from us undereservedly at the end.

Odd to come out of the first 4 games and feel we deserved a lot more than 5 points!

Confident we’ll be fine, we’ve shown we can compete, need to take our chances though.

As a side note - how embarassing were the Brighton fans? Showed they could make a noise at the end, but heard barely a peep from them all game. Shocking fans.

Was their only shot on target? Would have won that on another day and looked every bit their equal. Next...

Was an even game all over really, properly competitive between two similar sides that can both play and mix it up physically.

They were a bit neater and composed in the final third but felt we edged the pressing game.

Difference between zero and one point for us was being a little wasteful in front of goal. They’ll feel fortunate to come away with all three but that’s the PL for you.

0-0 game for me with PL class giving them the edge to sneak. Probably our first "welcome to the premier league" game

Don't think we deserved to win, didn't create much in the second half. If you can't win, don't lose. Brighton bossed it for the last 20 mins but it took a quality goal to break us. Shouldn't have allowed him to run at us like that though. Great atmosphere again, loving this season.

All very well investing in athleticism, and we pressed extremely well for 75 mins, but you’ve got to be able to do something with it when you win the ball back. Should have won that game but lack of quality and composure in the final third cost us massively. Fitness levels fell off a cliff on 75 mins too. Worrying

Hard to take, but clear that if we’re not at it 100% for 90+ minutes / don’t make the most of presentable chances when they arrive, then we run the risk that even average Prem teams will punish us.

Lovely finish, that you sensed was coming, but still feels a bit unjust on the overall balance of play.

Really? Was only able to listen to bits of it on bees player but unfortunately actually heard more of the Brighton fans throughout the game than ours.

Only managed to see 20 minutes of the first half and probably 80% the second half via a bit of a dodgy stream but didn't see an effort on target from us. We look pretty solid and Pinnock in particular is adapting well to the PL, but possession stats and time on the ball is chalk and cheese in comparison to last season. From what I saw Brighton dominated the midfield for most of the second half. We'll need to work on creating more.

A noticeable drop in intensity in the last period of the game. Is this fitness related - physical and/or mental? Worrying.

If you don't take your chances :(

Gutted. Thought we played brilliantly.

Slightly concerned that we struggling to get the ball to Toney in box. Most of Toney work is within 20 yards of the oppositions half. He's working like a madman.

Will work it out for sure

Disappointed for sure. We didn’t deserve to lose but don’t think we did enough to win. I thought our pressing first half was too notch and the link up play between Bryan and Toney excellent first half. Difference was Brighton took their half chance and we didn’t. Most telling thing for me was that we ran out of steam at about 65 minutes. Something to work on or be a concern?

Thought the atmosphere was excellent although a few empty seats around me (surprised by that). Was in the East Stand today and was great.

Graham Potter has the sign over TF, that’s 4 wins out of 4.

Anyway we look a solid Premier League side just need to be clinical when getting half chances.

They were sporadically very loud but I was in the East stand and only a block away from them. West stand didn’t sound as loud or near as continuous as for Arsenal. We can do better v our next league opponents here… Liverpool (pinch me!).

Missed chances proved costly, but thats the Premier League for you.

Let's move on to the next one.

Thought we looked the better side first half but Bryan should have converted one of his good chances. The problem for TF is he hasn't got options up front to bring on, Ivan was very good and Bryan worked his nuts off, it could have been a different result is we had another forward to change things ?

Bryan missed 3 decent chances.....then we didn't create anything 2nd half.... thought it was a banker 0-0....shame that Frank didn't seem to really want to win it as we kept 5 at the back for the whole game

Oh well, guess we'll have to make up for it by getting all 3 points the next time I get over for a game... that'll be Liverpool then 😉👍🏻🐝⚽

If today’s game is judged on stats alone we need to be very worried. We had just 1 shot on target (6 off target), 0 blocked shots, just 1 corner.
Yet iI am reading that we were brilliant or great. If this is anything but the minimum required each game we are going to severely struggle.
Far more can often be learned from a defeat than a win, and I hope that is the case. We have to force goalkeepers to make saves, the more the better. We need to earn corners and freekicks in their third. I know we are now missing MBS long throws which although are very unreliable can create pressure and further set pieces.

The referee was certainly not a homer and many of the chants I could hear on the radio were from us “asking for a referee” & “you don’t know what you are doing”. Even BBC Radio Sussex was surprised Veltman wasn’t booked in the first half for his second foul on Rico. They said Brighton were lucky to avoid cards when we had 2 booked early in the first half.

I do worry that more teams will try and withstand our first hour knowing that we are running out of gas for the last twenty or thirty minutes. This has happened in all 4 games so far. Against Arsenal when Frank went off with 10 minutes to go, we looked less of a team, fortunately we were already 2-0 up.

I really hope we get a positive reaction against Wolves and the early kickoff time might just help us. With Liverpool at home and West Ham away to follow, it is tough run before Chelsea & Leicester both at home.

just to be clear - you didn’t go to the game and you are commenting (at length) on something you didn’t watch. Correct?
